Claims (14)
- 液体を吐出するために発熱する第1の電気熱変換素子と、
前記第1の電気熱変換素子の近傍に配置される少なくとも1つの温度検知素子と、
前記少なくとも1つの温度検知素子による温度検知動作に関連して発熱する第2の電気熱変換素子と、を有することを特徴とする素子基板。 - 前記素子基板は多層構造であり、
前記第2の電気熱変換素子の下層に前記温度検知素子が形成されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の素子基板。 - 前記第1の電気熱変換素子の下層に前記温度検知素子とは別の温度検知素子が形成されることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の素子基板。
- 前記第1の電気熱変換素子への電力の供給を制御するための第1の駆動回路と、
前記第2の電気熱変換素子への電力の供給を制御するための第2の駆動回路と、をさらに有し、
前記第1の駆動回路と前記第2の駆動回路とは互いに独立に駆動できることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載の素子基板。 - 前記第1の電気熱変換素子は、複数、備えられ、
前記素子基板を平面視した際に、複数の前記第1の電気熱変換素子それぞれを挟むように、少なくとも2つの前記温度検知素子が配置されることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項に記載の素子基板。 - 複数の前記第1の電気熱変換素子が配置される方向に、前記少なくとも2つの温度検知素子が配置されることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の素子基板。
- 複数の前記第1の電気熱変換素子が配置される方向とは直交する方向に、前記少なくとも2つの温度検知素子が配置されることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の素子基板。
- 複数の前記第1の電気熱変換素子が配置される方向と、複数の前記第1の電気熱変換素子が配置される方向とは直交する方向のそれぞれに、前記少なくとも2つの温度検知素子が配置されることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の素子基板。
- 複数の前記第1の電気熱変換素子それぞれの近傍の3つの方向それぞれに温度検知素子を配置することを特徴とする請求項5に記載の素子基板。
- 請求項1乃至9のいずれか1項に記載の素子基板を用いた液体吐出ヘッドであって、
複数の前記第1の電気熱変換素子に対応して、液体を吐出する複数の吐出口を備えることを特徴とする液体吐出ヘッド。 - 前記第1の電気熱変換素子よって発生する熱により液体を加熱し発泡させることで、前記複数の吐出口から液体を吐出し、
前記第2の電気熱変換素子によって発生する熱により前記液体が発泡しない程度に加熱することを特徴とする請求項10に記載の液体吐出ヘッド。 - 請求項10又は11に記載の液体吐出ヘッドを、前記液体をインクとし、該インクを吐出する記録ヘッドとして用い、記録媒体に記録を行う記録装置であって、
前記第1の電気熱変換素子を駆動してインク吐出動作を行わせるとともに、前記温度検知素子による温度検知の結果に基づいてインクの吐出状態の検出を行う制御手段を有することを特徴とする記録装置。 - 前記制御手段は、前記温度検知素子により出力される検出温度の時間変化に基づいて前記インクの吐出状態の検出を行うことを特徴とする請求項12に記載の記録装置。
- 前記制御手段は、少なくとも2つの前記温度検知素子それぞれが出力する検出温度の時間変化を比較することにより、インク吐出にヨレが発生しているかどうかを判定することを特徴とする請求項12又は13に記載の記録装置。
