Abstract
Description
前記式において、V1およびV2は、それぞれ面内第1方向および前記第1方向に垂直な面内第2方向に対して、初期に比べて2mm引っ張って10秒間維持した後、弛緩して10秒間維持する過程を10回繰り返した後、初期に比べて変形された寸法(mm)である。
一実現例によるポリエステルフィルムは、下記式(1)を満足する。
前記式において、V1およびV2は、それぞれ面内第1方向および前記第1方向に垂直な面内第2方向に対して、初期に比べて2mm引っ張って10秒間維持した後、弛緩して10秒間維持する過程を10回繰り返した後、初期に比べて変形された寸法(mm)である。
前記ポリエステルフィルムは、面内位相差(Ro)が1200nm以下、1000nm以下、600nm以下、500nm以下、400nm以下、300nm以下、または200nm以下であり得る。前記好ましい範囲内であるとき、虹ムラの発生を最小限に抑制し得る。
前記ポリエステルフィルムは、ポリエステル樹脂を含む。
前記ポリエステルフィルムは、10μm〜100μmの厚さを有し得る。または、前記ポリエステルフィルムの厚さは10μm〜80μm、20μm〜60μm、または40μm〜60μmであり得る。
一実現例によるポリエステルフィルムの製造方法は、ポリエステル樹脂をシート状に形成して二軸延伸して、下記式(1)を満足するポリエステルフィルムを得る段階を含む。
前記式において、V1およびV2は、それぞれ面内第1方向および前記第1方向に垂直な面内第2方向に対して、初期に比べて2mm引っ張って10秒間維持した後、弛緩して10秒間維持する過程を10回繰り返した後、初期に比べて変形された寸法(mm)である。
前記未延伸シートは、ポリエステル樹脂を押出して形成され得る。
この際、前記光学フィルムの原料として使用されるポリエステル樹脂の組成は、前記で例示したとおりである。
一実現例による積層体は、フレキシブルディスプレイ装置用透明カバーと、前記透明カバー上に配置される前記実現例によるポリエステルフィルムとを含む。
一例として、前記透明カバーはポリイミド系樹脂を含み得る。
一実現例によるフレキシブルディスプレイ装置は、前記実現例によるポリエステルフィルムをカバーに含む。
以下、実施例によりさらに具体的に説明するが、これらの範囲に限定されるものではない。
ポリエチレンテレフタレート(PET)樹脂を押出機で約250℃〜280℃にて押出およびキャスティングして未延伸シート(sheet)を製造した。前記未延伸シートを約70℃〜90℃にて予熱し、長さ方向(MD)に対して約3倍〜3.5倍および幅方向(TD)に対して約3.5倍〜4倍に延伸した。その後、延伸されたシートを約185℃〜240℃にて熱固定し、3%〜5%の弛緩率で3秒〜10秒間弛緩して、冷却した。前記延伸時の予熱温度、各方向別延伸比、延伸温度、延伸速度、熱固定温度および弛緩率を調節して、下記表1のように、様々な引張サイクル特性を有する厚さ40μmのポリエステルフィルムを製造した。
前記製造されたポリエステルフィルムのサンプルについて、ASTM D2176およびTAPPI T511に基づくMITフォールディングテスト(MIT folding test)をフォールディング耐久性試験機(folding endurance tester、MIT−DA、東洋精機社)により行った。具体的に、前記MITフォールディングテストは、135°のフォールディング角度、幅10mmのサンプルサイズ、500gfの荷重、0.38Rの曲率半径、および175回/分のフォールディング速度の条件で行われた。その結果、クラックや破断が発生するまでの繰り返しフォールディング回数を測定した。

Claims (10)
- 下記式(1)を満足するポリエステルフィルム:
V2/V1≦1.2 ... (1)
前記式において、V1およびV2は、それぞれ面内第1方向および前記第1方向に垂直な面内第2方向に対して、初期に比べて2mm引っ張って10秒間維持した後、弛緩して10秒間維持する過程を10回繰り返した後、初期に比べて変形された寸法(mm)である。 - 前記V2が0.7mm以下である、請求項1に記載のポリエステルフィルム。
- 前記V2/V1比率が1.1以下である、請求項2に記載のポリエステルフィルム。
- 前記V1が0.5mm以下である、請求項2に記載のポリエステルフィルム。
- 前記第1方向がフィルムの長さ方向であり、
前記第2方向がフィルムの幅方向である、請求項1に記載のポリエステルフィルム。 - 前記ポリエステルフィルムが、
3.3〜3.5の長さ方向延伸比と、
3.5〜3.8の幅方向延伸比とで二軸延伸された、請求項5に記載のポリエステルフィルム。 - 前記ポリエステルフィルムが、破断が発生するまでの135°角度の繰り返しフォールディング回数が10万回以上である、請求項1に記載のポリエステルフィルム。
- フレキシブルディスプレイ装置用透明カバーと、前記透明カバー上に配置される請求項1に記載のポリエステルフィルムとを含む、積層体。
- 前記透明カバーがポリイミド系フィルムまたは超薄型ガラス(UTG)であり、
前記透明カバーが、破断が発生するまでの135°角度の繰り返しフォールディング回数が10万回以上である、請求項8に記載の積層体。 - 請求項1に記載のポリエステルフィルムをカバーに含む、フレキシブルディスプレイ装置。
