Abstract
Description
タイヤは、良好なウェットスキッド(濡れ滑り)抵抗、低い転がり抵抗、及び良好な摩耗特性を有することが非常に望ましい。タイヤの摩耗特性をそのウェットスキッド抵抗及びトラクション(牽引)特性を犠牲にせずに改良することは従来非常に困難であった。これらの性質は、タイヤの製造に利用されるゴムの動的粘弾性に依存するところが大きい。

加硫可能ゴム組成物は、70〜100phrの、−100℃〜−50℃の範囲のTgを有するイソプレン−ブタジエンゴム(IBR)を含む。
開始剤として利用できる有機リチウム化合物は、通常有機モノリチウム化合物である。好適な有機リチウム化合物は、式R−Liによって表すことができ、式中、Rは1〜約20個の炭素原子を含有するヒドロカルビル基を表す。一般的に、そのような有機リチウム化合物は1〜約10個の炭素原子を含有する。使用できる有機リチウム化合物のいくつかの代表例は、メチルリチウム、エチルリチウム、イソプロピルリチウム、n−ブチルリチウム、sec−ブチルリチウム、n−オクチルリチウム、tert−オクチルリチウム、n−デシルリチウム、フェニルリチウム、1−ナフチルリチウム、4−ブチルフェニルリチウム、p−トリルリチウム、1−ナフチルリチウム、4−ブチルフェニルリチウム、p−トリルリチウム、4−フェニルブチルリチウム、シクロヘキシルリチウム、4−ブチルシクロヘキシルリチウム及び4−シクロヘキシルブチルリチウムなどである。
適切な脂肪酸モノエステルは、オレイン酸アルキル、ステアリン酸アルキル、リノール酸アルキル、及びパルミチン酸アルキルからなる群から選ぶことができる。一態様において、オレイン酸アルキルは、オレイン酸メチル、オレイン酸エチル、オレイン酸2−エチルヘキシル、オレイン酸イソプロピル、及びオレイン酸オクチルからなる群から選ばれる。
テルペン−フェノール樹脂が使用できる。テルペン−フェノール樹脂は、フェノール系モノマーと、リモネン、ピネン及びデルタ−3−カレンなどのテルペンとの共重合によって誘導できる。
一態様において、ゴム組成物は30〜80phrの樹脂及び0phrのオイルを含む。
別の態様において、ゴム組成物は40〜70phrの樹脂及び0phrのオイルを含む。
別の態様において、ゴム組成物は35〜75phrの樹脂及び1〜4phrのオイルを含む。
別の態様において、ゴム組成物は50〜60phrの樹脂及び1〜4phrのオイルを含む。
ゴムコンパウンドに使用できる一般的に用いられるケイ質顔料(siliceous pigment)は、従来型の焼成(pyrogenic)及び沈降ケイ質顔料(シリカ)を含むが、沈降シリカが好適である。本発明で好適に使用される従来型ケイ質顔料は、例えば、ケイ酸ナトリウムなどの可溶性ケイ酸塩の酸性化によって得られるような沈降シリカである。
従来型シリカは、電子顕微鏡による測定で例えば0.01〜0.05ミクロンの範囲の平均極限粒径を有すると予想されうるが、シリカ粒子は、それよりさらに小さい、又はおそらくは大きいサイズであってもよい。

本発明の空気入りタイヤは、レース用タイヤ、乗用車用タイヤ、航空機用タイヤ、農業用、土工機械用、オフロード用、トラック用タイヤなどでありうる。好ましくは、タイヤは乗用車又はトラック用タイヤである。タイヤはラジアルでもバイアスでもよいが、ラジアルが好適である。

本実施例において、IBRの合成を例示する。IBRは、2反応器(各10リットル)連続系にて88℃で合成された。ヘキサン中にイソプレン及び1,3−ブタジエンを含有するプレミックスを第一の重合反応器に連続的に投入した。イソプレン対1,3−ブタジエンを30:70の比率で含有するプレミックスモノマー溶液は、全モノマー濃度が15パーセントであった。重合は、第一の反応器に0.028phmのn−ブチルリチウムを0.0052phmのTMEDA及び200ppmの1,2−ブタジエンと共に加えることによって開始された。両反応器の滞留時間は1時間に設定された。
本実施例において、本発明によるゴム組成物の利点を例示する。ゴムコンパウンドを表1に示されている配合表に従って混合した。量はphrで示されている。コンパウンドを硬化し、表2に示されている物理的性質について試験した。

(A)エラストマー100重量部あたり(phr)70〜100重量部のイソプレン−ブタジエンゴム(−100℃〜−50℃の範囲のTgを有する)と、0〜30phrの第二のエラストマー(−49〜−20℃の範囲のTgを有するイソプレン−ブタジエンゴム、天然ゴム、合成ポリイソプレン、及びポリブタジエンからなる群から選ばれる)からなる100重量部のエラストマーと;
(B)30〜80phrの、少なくとも20℃のTgを有する樹脂と;
(C)0〜4phrのオイルと;そして
(D)80〜180phrの、カーボンブラック及びシリカからなる群から選ばれるフィラーと
