Description
実施形態1.建築基材及び耐候性障壁(WRB)を含む建築組立体であって、WRBが、75%の相対湿度(RH)で5℃〜60℃の温度範囲で温度が上昇するにつれて減少する水蒸気透過率を有する、建築組立体。
ヒドロキシプロピルセルロース(HPC)及びポリ(N−イソプロピルアクリルアミド)(PNIPAAM)の2つの異なるLCSTポリマーの曇点を様々な濃度の水溶液中で試験した。曇点は、溶解したポリマーが凝固して溶液から分離し始め、それにより溶液の曇りを引き起こす温度応答性ポリマーの温度に関する。曇点は、調査された温度応答性ポリマーのLCSTの指標であり得る。
様々な温度でのLCSTポリマーコーティング(乾燥コーティング中100%LCSTポリマー)の透過率試験:
3つの水性液体コーティング溶液を調製し、その各々は次のLCSTポリマーのうちの1種を含んでいた:1)ポリ[2−(2−エトキシエトキシ)エチルアクリレート](Aldrich製PEEO2A)、2)ポリビニルアルコール(Kuraray製PVA LM25)、及び3)ポリプロピレングリコール(PPG4000)及びイソシアネート(Desmodur N75MPA)から作製されたポリウレタン。
様々な温度及び2つの異なる湿度でのLCSTポリマーコーティング(乾燥コーティング中100%LCSTポリマー)の透過率試験:
Fisher Scientific製ヒドロキシプロピルセルロース(HPC)及びSigma Aldrich製Poly(N−イソプロピルアクリルアミド)(PNIPAAM)をLCSTポリマーとして使用したことを除き、実施例2に記載されたものと同じ手順に従ってコーティングされた紙サンプルを調製した。水蒸気透過率は、25%RH及び75%RHなどの2つの異なる湿度で測定した。各湿度について、透過率測定のために2つの異なる温度:20℃及び60℃を選択した。表4及び図4で見ることができるように、PNIPAAM層は、25%RH及び75%RHの両方の湿度条件について、温度上昇時の水蒸気透過率の減少を示した。HPC層の場合、75%RHでは水蒸気透過率の減少が観察されたが、25%RHでは観察されなかった。
ポリマーマトリックスに含有されるLCSTポリマーを有するコーティングの透過率試験:
ポリマーマトリックスに含有されるLCSTポリマーHPCまたはPNIPAAMを用いて固体コーティングを調製した。マトリックスポリマー(第2のポリマー)として、スチレンブタジエン系ポリマーであるラテックスXU31591(Trinseo製)、ブタジエン−塩化ビニリデン系ポリマーであるラテックスXU31904(Trinseo製)、及び完全なアクリルポリマーであるLipacryl MB−364(Dow Chemical Company製)を使用した。コーティングを、LCSTポリマーの量、マトリックスポリマーの量、及び乾燥コーティングの厚さで変化させた(表5参照)。透過率測定は、25%RH及び75%RHで、2つの異なる温度:20℃及び60℃で行った。
架橋ポリウレタンにグラフトされたLCSTポリマー
50重量%の酢酸エチル(溶媒)、2.5重量%のエチレングリコール、 31.5重量%のDesmodur N75MPA(Covestro製のイソシアネート)、及び16重量%のJeffamine M2005(商標)−ブランドLCSTポリマーを室温で共に混合して液体コーティング組成物を調製した。コーティングされた紙サンプルは、実施例2に記載されたものと同じ手順に従って調製した。水蒸気透過率は、75%RHで20℃〜50℃の範囲の様々な温度で乾燥したサンプルについて測定した。表6において、水蒸気透過率は、20℃〜40℃の試験範囲で温度が上昇するにつれて減少し、40℃でプラトーに達するようであることを見ることができる。理論に縛られるものではないが、その結果は、LCSTポリマーがマトリックスポリマーに(本実施例ではポリウレタンに)化学的に結合している場合にも、LCSTポリマーはLCST効果、すなわち、温度の上昇に伴う水蒸気透過率の減少を提供し得る。
全てのコーティングされた紙サンプルの25%RH及び75%RHでの水蒸気透過率を、ASTM E96(2014)(カップ試験法とも呼ばれる)に従って測定した。
Claims (15)
- 建築基材及び耐候性障壁(WRB)を含む建築組立体であって、前記WRBが、75%の相対湿度(RH)で5℃〜60℃の温度範囲で温度が上昇するにつれて減少する水蒸気透過率を有する、建築組立体。
- 前記WRBが、下限臨界溶液温度(LCST)ポリマー及び前記LCSTポリマーとは異なる第2のポリマーを含むコーティングを含む、請求項1に記載の建築組立体。
- 前記LCSTポリマーが、ヒドロキシアルキルセルロース、ポリ(アルキルアクリルアミド)、ポリ(ビニルメチルエーテル)、ポリエーテルアミン、またはそれらの任意の組み合わせを含む、請求項2に記載の建築組立体。
- 前記LCSTポリマーが、ヒドロキシプロピルセルロース、ポリ(N−イソプロピルアクリルアミド)、ポリ(N−(tert−ブチル)アクリルアミド)、ポリ(エチレンプロピレン)コポリマーのモノアミン、またはそれらの任意の組み合わせを含む、請求項2または3に記載の建築組立体。
- 前記コーティング中の前記LCSTポリマーの量が、前記コーティングの総重量を基準として少なくとも0.5重量%である、請求項2〜4のいずれかに記載の建築組立体。
- 前記第2のポリマーが、アクリルポリマー、アクリルコポリマー、スチレンアクリルコポリマー、酢酸ビニルポリマー、酢酸ビニルエチレンコポリマー、オレフィンワックス、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリウレタン、ポリエステル、塩化ビニリデンポリマー、スチレン−ブタジエンコポリマー、アクリロニトリル−ブタジエンコポリマー、またはそれらの任意の組み合わせを含む、請求項2〜5のいずれかに記載の建築組立体。
- 前記WRBの前記コーティングが、少なくとも10μmかつ500μm以下の厚さを有する、請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の建築組立体。
- 前記WRBの前記水蒸気透過率が、5℃から60℃への温度上昇で少なくとも50%減少する、請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の建築組立体。
- 25℃未満の温度での前記水蒸気透過率が、少なくとも12US perm(7.9m.p.)であり、45℃を超える温度での前記水蒸気透過率が、6US perm(3.95m.p.)以下である、請求項1〜8のいずれかに記載の建築組立体。
- 前記建築基材が、ボード、パネル、または羽目板である、請求項1〜9のいずれかに記載の建築組立体。
- 前記建築基材が、石膏を含むボードである、請求項10に記載の建築組立体。
- コーティングを含むWRBとして使用するためのシートであって、前記コーティングが、LCSTポリマー及び第2のポリマーを含み、前記シートが、75Paの圧力で0.02L/(s m2)未満の空気透過率を有し、前記シートの水蒸気透過率が、75%RHの相対湿度で5℃〜60℃の温度範囲で温度が上昇するにつれて減少する、シート。
- 前記シートが多孔質基材を含み、前記コーティングが前記多孔質基材の第1の表面を覆う、請求項12に記載のシート。
- 前記WRBの前記水蒸気透過率が、5℃から60℃への温度上昇で少なくとも50%減少する、請求項12または13に記載のシート。
- LCSTポリマー及び第2のポリマーを含む液体コーティング組成物であって、前記液体コーティング組成物から形成される固体コーティングが75Paの圧力で0.02L/(s m2)未満の空気透過率を有し、かつ前記固体コーティングの水蒸気透過率が75%RHの相対湿度で5℃〜60℃の温度範囲で温度が上昇するにつれて減少するように、前記液体コーティング組成物が適合されている、液体コーティング組成物。
