Abstract
Description
本願は、いずれも2015年12月21日出願の米国仮特許出願第62/270,381号及び同第62/270,407号に基づく優先権を主張するものであり、当該出願の開示の全容を本明細書に援用するものである。
第1の実施形態では、本開示は、
第1の表面及び第1の表面の反対側の第2の表面を有する熱可塑性層を準備することであって、熱可塑性層の第1の表面には複数の雄固定要素が付いている、ことと、
熱可塑性層を塑性変形するように延伸することと、
延伸した熱可塑性層を弛緩させてその引っ張りひずみを小さくすることと、その後で、
熱可塑性層の第2の表面を基材に積層して積層体を形成することと、を含み、
延伸すること、弛緩させること、及び積層することは線状に遂行される、方法、を提供する。
材料
フィルムグレードのポリプロピレン(PP)コポリマーである、ポリプロピレン耐衝撃性コポリマーは、Dow Chemical Company、Midland、MIから商品名「DOW C700−35N POLYPROPYLENE RESIN」として入手した。ポリマーの密度は、ASTM D972に従って測定したところ0.902g/ccであると報告され、メルトフローインデックス(MFI)は、ASTM D1238に従って測定したところ35(230℃及び2.16kgの負荷の下)であると報告された。
熱可塑性層と一体の直立柱体のアレイを有する実質的に連続的な熱可塑性層を調製した。直立柱体はキャップされていた。キャップ形状は卵形であり、その製造後、米国特許第6,132,660号(Kampfer)に記載の手順を用いて変形させて、「下向きに突出している繊維係合部分を有するフックヘッド」を得た。
C700−35N Polyproplyene Resinのストリームを2インチ単軸スクリュー押出機に送り込んで、雄固定要素を有する熱可塑性層を調製した。バレルゾーン1〜7はそれぞれ、176℃、170℃、180℃、190℃、200℃、218℃、及び218℃に設定した。次いで溶融樹脂をシートダイを通して回転式円筒形金型へと送り込んだ。ダイの温度は218℃に設定し、円筒状金型の温度は90℃に設定した。スクリュー速度は80rpmに設定した。金型の空洞部へ樹脂を急速に流し込むことで、流れ方向と平行に分子配向を生じさせた。金型を水冷して急冷することで、ポリマーにおける配向を維持した。柱体の密度は、1平方インチ当たり3500本の柱体(1平方センチメートル当たり542本の柱体)であって、これらは互い違いに配列されており、柱体の形状は円錐形であった。ウェブはキャップ形成装置に直接送り込んだ。柱体は、米国特許第5,845,375号(Millerら)に記載の手順を用いて、卵形状のキャップでキャップした。キャップは、その後、米国特許第6,132,660号(Kampfer)に記載の手順を用いて変形させた。次いで熱可塑性層を30ミリメートル(mm)の幅に細長く切断した。
実施例7〜12を実施例1〜6に関して記載した手順を用いて実施したが、テープの緊張は100ニュートンに修正した。実施例1〜6に記載の方法を用いて、実施例7〜12のそれぞれの試料をカールに関して評価した。結果を以下の表2に示す。

Claims (15)
- 積層体を製造する方法であって、
第1の表面及び前記第1の表面の反対側の第2の表面を有する熱可塑性層を準備することであって、前記熱可塑性層の前記第1の表面には複数の雄固定要素が付いている、ことと、
前記熱可塑性層を塑性変形するように延伸することと、
前記延伸した熱可塑性層を弛緩させてその引っ張りひずみを小さくすることと、その後で、
前記熱可塑性層の前記第2の表面を基材に積層して前記積層体を形成することと、を含み、
前記延伸すること、弛緩させること、及び積層することが線状に遂行される、方法。 - 前記熱可塑性層は機械方向に延伸される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記熱可塑性層は、速度に差のある複数のロールによって前記機械方向に延伸される、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記熱可塑性層を延伸するのに十分な速度を有する第2のロールを使用して延伸を行うことに続いて、前記第2のロールよりも低い速度を有する第3のロール上に前記熱可塑性層を進ませることによって弛緩が実行される、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記熱可塑性層は前記機械方向及び横方向の両方に延伸される、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記熱可塑性層を塑性変形するように延伸することは、少なくとも20パーセントの引っ張りひずみまで延伸を行うことを含む、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記熱可塑性層は少なくとも一方向に1.25倍〜5倍延伸される、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記熱可塑性層を塑性変形するように延伸することは、前記熱可塑性層を所望の引っ張りひずみよりも少なくとも20%大きく延伸することを含み、前記延伸した熱可塑性層を弛緩させてその引っ張りひずみを小さくすることは、前記延伸した熱可塑性層を前記所望の引っ張りひずみまで弛緩させることを含む、請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 延伸及び弛緩は、前記熱可塑性層の前記第2の表面を前記基材に積層する前に複数回実行される、請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 延伸前に、延伸中に、又はこれらの組合せの時に前記熱可塑性層を加熱することを更に含む、請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記熱可塑性層は、接着結合、熱融着、点結合、超音波溶接、レーザ溶接、又はこれらの組合せによって前記基材に積層される、請求項1〜10のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記熱可塑性層はポリオレフィン、ポリアミド、又はポリエステルのうちの少なくとも1つを含み、前記基材は不織布材料、ニット材料、又はフィルムのうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項1〜11のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記熱可塑性層はβ相ポリプロピレンを含む、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記基材は吸収性物品の構成要素である、請求項1〜13のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 延伸前に、前記熱可塑性層は10ミリメートル〜50ミリメートルの幅を有する、請求項1〜14のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
