Abstract
Description
したがって、軽量で、現在入手可能なものと同等またはそれより良好な難燃性および/または耐熱性を有する新しい布地が必要であり、これらの新しい布地はPBI−p繊維で製造され得る。
布地は、一実施態様において、5〜40重量%のPBI−p繊維を有し、残部は他の通常の繊維であると特徴付けられてもよく、布地は、PBI−p繊維の代わりに同様の量のPBI−s繊維を用いて製造された等価な布地と比べて同等またはそれ以上の難燃性および耐熱性、およびより少ない布地重量(例えば坪量または面積重量−osy[オンス/平方ヤード]またはgsm[グラム/平方メートル])を有する。布地は、別の実施態様において、PBI−p繊維とPBI−s繊維との配合物を5〜40重量%有し、残部が他の通常の繊維であると特徴付けられてもよく、PBI−s繊維の量は、PBI−p繊維の量より多く、ここで、当該布地は、PBI−p繊維の代わりに同様の量のPBI−s繊維を用いて製造された同等の布地と比べて難燃性および耐熱性が同等またはそれ以上であり、小さい布地重量(例えば、坪量または面積重量−osy[オンス/平方ヤード]またはgsm[グラム/平方メートル])を有する。
本明細書で使用される通常の繊維は、任意の通常の繊維を言う。一実施態様において、これらの通常の繊維は、天然および合成繊維を言う。通常の繊維は、難燃剤で処理(FR処理)してもよいし、処理しなくてもよい。天然繊維は、綿および/または羊毛であってもよい。合成繊維は、例えばポリオレフィン(例えばポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン等)、ポリアミド(例えばナイロン等)、アクリル(および/または変性アクリル)、ポリエステル(例えばPET、PBT、PEN)、アラミド(例えばメタ−アラミド、パラ−アラミド)、セルロース系(例えばレーヨン、リオセル)、炭素、ポリベンズオキサゾール(PBO)、メラミン、ポリアミドイミド、ポリイミド、ポリフェニルスルフィド(PPS)、ポリフルオライド(例えばPTFE)、ポリエーテルケトン(例えばPEK、PEEK、PEEKK、PEKKなど)、およびこれらの組合せおよび配合物を言う。
例示的な耐熱性(HR)特性には、限定はしないが、熱収縮率−ASTM F2894/ISO17493;およびそれらとの組み合わせを含む。
動的炎試験は、図1および2に示された動的炎キット(DFK)を使用する。DFK10は、一般にプロパン源12と、2つの同一のバーナー18とノブ19とを有するプロパン分配マニホールド16と、供給源12と分配マニホールド16およびバーナー18とを相互接続するプロパン管14と、布地片24、および布地片24の下端部の錘部26(例えば、225g)を保持するためのクリップ22を有する布地炎20を含む。図1の第1の位置では、バーナー18は、垂直、すなわち直立の位置にある(炎は布地片24に向けられていない)。図2の第2の位置では、バーナー18は、水平な、すなわち係合位置(炎は布地片24に向けられる)にある。
Claims (14)
- 熱防護用途のための布地であって、5〜40重量%のPBI−p繊維、および残部は通常の繊維を含み、当該布地は、布地重量が前記PBI−p繊維の代わりに同様の量のPBI−s繊維を用いて製造された等価な布地と比べて同等またはより良好な難燃性および/または耐熱性、およびより少ない布地重量損失を有する、前記布地。
- 前記布地が、1.0〜6.5オンス/平方ヤードの範囲の重量を有する、請求項1に記載の布地。
- 前記熱防護用途が、消防士の出動服、テント、アークフラッシュ防護服、自動車用途、自動車用服、宇宙服、宇宙船、および電子装置を含む、請求項1に記載の布地。
- 前記布地が、織布、編布、または不織布である、請求項1に記載の布地。
- 前記通常の繊維が、綿、羊毛、ポリオレフィン、ポリアミド、アクリル、ポリエステル、アラミド、セルロース系、炭素、ポリベンズオキサゾール、メラミン、ポリアミドイミド、ポリイミド、ポリフェニルスルフィド、ポリフルオライド、ポリエーテルケトン、およびそれらの組み合わせおよび配合物を含む材料から製造される、請求項1に記載の布地。

- 耐熱性が、熱収縮(ASTM F2894/ISO17493)およびその組み合わせを含む、請求項1に記載の布地。
- 熱防護用途のための布地であって、5〜40重量%のPBI−p繊維とPBI−s繊維との配合物、および残部が通常の繊維を含み、
