Abstract
Description
塗布装置1は、塗布部2、塗布ステージ3、親液性調節部4、および制御部5を備えており、塗布部2が塗布ステージ3上の基材Wの上方を移動しながら塗布部2内のノズルから塗布液の液滴を吐出することにより、基材Wへの塗布動作が行われる。そして、基材W上に着弾した液滴同士が連結し、基材W上に塗布パターン51が形成される。また、塗布部2が基材Wへ液滴を吐出する前に、親液性調節部4が基材W上の塗布パターン51が形成される領域であるパターン領域の親液性を調節し、塗布パターン形成後の塗布液の塗れ広がりの挙動をあらかじめ制御する。

Claims (3)
- 基材に塗布液を塗布し、塗布パターンを形成する塗布装置であり、
塗布液の液滴を吐出するノズルと、
前記ノズル内の塗布液に圧力波を生じさせる圧力波付与部と、
前記圧力波付与部の駆動を制御する制御部と、
を有し、
塗布液を吐出する毎に前記制御部は、
前記ノズルから液滴が吐出されない程度の圧力波を前記ノズル内の塗布液に生じさせ、前記ノズル内の塗布液を揺らす、揺らし動作と、
前記揺らし動作の後、前記ノズルから液滴が吐出される程度の圧力波を前記ノズル内の塗布液に生じさせる吐出動作と、
を前記圧力波付与部に行わせ、
前記揺らし動作における前記圧力波付与部の駆動および前記吐出動作における前記圧力波付与部の駆動はそれぞれ一定とし、前記揺らし動作と前記吐出動作との間の時間である待機時間を調節することを特徴とする、塗布装置。 - 前記圧力波付与部はピエゾアクチュエータであり、当該ピエゾアクチュエータに電圧を印加して前記ノズル内の容積を変化させることにより前記ノズル内の塗布液に圧力波を生じさせることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の塗布装置。
- ノズルから塗布液の液滴を吐出し、基材に塗布パターンを形成する塗布方法であり、
塗布液を吐出する毎に、
前記ノズルから液滴が吐出されない程度の圧力波を前記ノズル内の塗布液に生じさせて前記ノズル内の塗布液を揺らす、揺らし工程と、
前記揺らし工程の後前記ノズルから液滴が吐出される程度の圧力波を前記ノズル内の塗布液に生じさせる吐出工程と、
を有し、
前記揺らし工程において塗布液に圧力波を生じさせる動作および前記吐出工程おいて塗布液に圧力波を生じさせる動作はそれぞれ一定とし、前記揺らし工程と前記吐出工程との間の時間である待機時間を調節することを特徴とする、塗布方法。
