Claims (9)
- 発光ダイオードおよび前記発光ダイオードが発光する光にて励起されて発光する波長変換材料を含み白色光を発光する光源と、該光源が配置される端面である入光端面、および、該入光端面から入射した光を出射させる出射面を有する導光板と、を備える面状照明装置において、
前記導光板は、前記出射面または前記出射面に対向する裏面の少なくとも一方に、レイリー散乱により前記波長変換材料が発する光よりも前記発光ダイオードが発する光を主として散乱させる光拡散部が部分的に設けられること
を特徴とする面状照明装置。 - 発光ダイオードおよび前記発光ダイオードが発光する光にて励起されて発光する波長変換材料を含み白色光を発光する光源と、該光源が配置される端面である入光端面、および、該入光端面から入射した光を出射させる出射面を有する導光板と、を備える面状照明装置において、
前記導光板は、前記出射面または前記出射面に対向する裏面の少なくとも一方に、前記発光ダイオードが発光する光の波長よりも小さい微細な凹凸を含む光拡散部が部分的に設けられること
を特徴とする面状照明装置。 - 前記光拡散部は、
前記導光板と同一材料で一体的に設けられることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の面状照明装置。 - 前記光拡散部は、前記入光端面に対向した終端面に近い領域に設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか1項に記載の面状照明装置。
- 前記光拡散部は、前記微細な凹凸の面積密度が前記入光端面から離れるにしたがって漸増する遷移領域を有することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の面状照明装置。
- 前記光拡散部は、前記微細な凹凸の面積密度が前記入光端面に沿って増加または減少する領域を有することを特徴とする請求項2または5に記載の面状照明装置。
- 前記微細な凹凸の平均高さが、前記発光ダイオードが発光する光の波長よりも小さいことを特徴とする請求項2、5、6のいずれか1項に記載の面状照明装置。
- 前記発光ダイオードは、青色光を発光する青色発光ダイオードであり、前記波長変換材料は、該青色光にて励起されて前記青色光よりも長波長の光を発光する蛍光体であることを特徴とする請求項1から7のいずれか1項に記載の面状照明装置。
- 導光板を形成する金型に対して、前記導光板の色むらが発生する領域に合わせた位置に微細な凹凸を形成する工程と、
前記微細な凹凸が形成された前記金型を用いて前記導光板を形成する工程と
を含む導光板の成形方法。
