Abstract
【解決手段】フィルタよりも上流に備わる触媒の温度を所定温度まで上昇させた後において、触媒から流出する排気の空燃比がリーン空燃比になるまでの期間よりも長い期間に亘り、内燃機関の目標空燃比を所定リーン空燃比に設定するリーン制御と、触媒から流出する排気の空燃比がリッチ空燃比になるまでの期間よりも長い期間に亘り、内燃機関の目標空燃比を所定リッチ空燃比に設定するリッチ制御と、を交互に複数回実施する。

Description
することにより、第一触媒の熱劣化を抑制しつつ、フィルタの再生を早期に実施することができる。
図1は、本実施例に係る内燃機関1と、その吸気系及び排気系との概略構成を示す図である。図1に示す内燃機関1は、ガソリン機関である。内燃機関1は、たとえば車両に搭載される。内燃機関1には、排気通路2が接続されている。この排気通路2の途中には、上流側から順に、三元触媒である第一触媒3と、三元触媒である第二触媒4を担持したフィルタ41と、が設けられている。
1または第二温度センサ12の検出値に基づいて、第一触媒3の温度を検出することができる。また、第二温度センサ12の検出値に基づいて、フィルタ41の温度を検出することができる。なお、内燃機関1の運転状態に基づいて、第一触媒3及びフィルタ41の温度を推定することもできる。
リッチ空燃比且つ着火可能な空燃比となり、さらに、この混合気層が着火可能な霧化状態となるように、噴射弁6の燃料噴射量及び燃料噴射時期と、点火プラグ9の点火時期と、を制御して成層燃焼を行う。そうすると、点火プラグ9の周りの混合気層の空燃比をリッチ空燃比としているので、主燃焼(点火プラグ9による火花点火による着火とその後の火炎伝播による燃焼)の際に不完全燃焼物(CO)が生成され、主燃焼後もこのCOが燃焼室内に残存する。また、混合気層の周囲には主燃焼後にも酸素が残存する。この残存COと残存酸素とが主燃焼後の気筒内のガス流動によって混合・再燃焼することで、排気の温度が上昇する。なお、内燃機関1から温度の高いガスを排出させる方法については、他の周知の技術を用いることもできる。
なると、第一触媒3から流出する排気の空燃比がリッチ空燃比となる。
(以下、比較制御を実施した場合という。)を示している。TAは第一触媒3が熱劣化する温度、TBはフィルタ41の再生に必要となる温度の下限値(すなわち、PM酸化温度)、TCは第一触媒3に要求される温度の下限値(すなわち、所定温度)である。
進、燃費の悪化抑制などを考慮して、予め実験またはシミュレーション等により求めておく。ステップS303で肯定判定がなされた場合にはステップS304へ進んで、内燃機関1の目標空燃比がリーン空燃比に設定される。これにより、リッチ制御からリーン制御に切り換わる。一方、ステップS303で否定判定がなされた場合にはステップS305へ進んで内燃機関1の目標空燃比がリッチ空燃比に設定される。これにより、リッチ制御が継続される。

Claims (2)
- 内燃機関の排気通路に設けられ酸化能力及び酸素吸蔵能力を有する触媒である第一触媒と、
前記第一触媒よりも下流の排気通路に設けられ排気中の粒子状物質を捕集するフィルタであって酸化能力及び酸素吸蔵能力を有する触媒である第二触媒を担持したフィルタと、
を備えた内燃機関の排気浄化装置において、
前記内燃機関の始動時に前記フィルタの再生を実施する場合に、
前記第一触媒の温度を所定温度まで上昇させる第一制御と、
前記第一制御の後に実施される第二制御であって、前記内燃機関の目標空燃比を理論空燃比よりも大きい空燃比である所定リーン空燃比に設定した時点から、前記第一触媒から流出する排気の空燃比が理論空燃比よりも大きくなる時点までの期間よりも長い期間に亘り、前記目標空燃比を前記所定リーン空燃比に設定するリーン制御と、前記目標空燃比を理論空燃比よりも小さい空燃比である所定リッチ空燃比に設定した時点から、前記第一触媒から流出する排気の空燃比が理論空燃比よりも小さくなる時点までの期間よりも長い期間に亘り、前記目標空燃比を前記所定リッチ空燃比に設定するリッチ制御と、を交互に複数回実施する第二制御と、
を実施する制御装置を備える内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記制御装置は、前記第一触媒の温度が前記第一触媒に要求される温度の下限値に達した時点において、前記第一触媒の温度が前記所定温度まで上昇したものとして、前記第一制御を終了させ且つ前記第二制御を開始する請求項1に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
