Abstract
Description
図1は、液晶表示装置の構成を例示する斜視図である。図1に示すように、液晶表示装置は、バックライトとして配置される面光源装置1と、面光源装置1から出射される光を受ける表示パネル2とを備える。表示パネル2は、ガラス板に挟まれて封入された液晶に電圧をかけて光の透過率を増減等させることで、像を表示する。以下、面光源装置1における、表示パネル2側を上面側として、その反対面側を下面側として説明することがある。すなわち、面光源装置1の出光面側を上と呼ぶ。
図2は、面光源装置1の構成を例示する斜視図である。面光源装置1は、導光板10及びフレーム12を備える。また、面光源装置1は、導光板10の下面側に配置される複数の光源11、実装基板13及び反射層14を備える。導光板10の下面側とは、表示パネル2が配置される側の反対側である。更に、面光源装置1は、導光板10の上面側に順に積層される拡散シート15、プリズムシート16及び遮光部材17を備える。導光板10の上面側は、表示パネル2が配置されている側である。プリズムシート16は、1枚であってもよいし、複数枚であってもよい。
ループ形状であればよく、例えば、矩形形状、略楕円形状であってもよいし、これら以外の他の形状であってもよい。遮光部材17は、例えば、上下両面が粘着面となった黒色の粘着テープであってもよい。遮光部材17の枠部分が、フレーム12の上端に沿って接着されており、面光源装置1から光が漏れ出ることを抑制する。
図3Aは、導光板10を模式的に示す断面図である。導光板10は、導光板10の下面に複数の凹部20を有している。すなわち、凹部20は、導光板10の下方に開口し、上方に向かってへこんだくぼみである。また、複数の光源11が、実装基板13上に配置され、各凹部20内に一つの光源11が収容されている。なお、凹部20を、収容部とも呼ぶ。そして、光源11から出射された光は、導光板10内に入射する。導光板10内に入射した光が、導光板10内で屈折、反射及び拡散して導光板10の出光面から出射されることで、導光板10の出光面が均一に光る。導光板10の厚み(高さ)t1、及び光源11間のピッチd1は、任意の値である。なお、導光板10の上面側である出光面には、拡散シート15やプリズムシート16といった光学フィルムが積層される。各構成要素の大きさの比率等は、図示した例には限定されない。
図4は、実施形態2に係る導光板10を模式的に示す断面図である。各構成要素の大きさの比率等は、図示した例には限定されない。本実施形態では、上述の構成に対応する構成要素には対応する符号を付し、説明を省略する。
図5は、実施形態3に係る導光板10を模式的に示す断面図である。各構成要素の大きさの比率等は、図示した例には限定されない。本実施形態では、上述の構成に対応する構成要素には対応する符号を付し、説明を省略する。
図6は、実施形態4に係る導光板10を模式的に示す断面図である。各構成要素の大き
さの比率等は、図示した例には限定されない。また、図6の例では1つの凹部22のみを示しているが、導光板10には所定のピッチで凹部22等の構成が複数設けられる。本実施形態では、上述の構成に対応する構成要素には対応する符号を付し、説明を省略する。
図7は、実施形態5に係る導光板10を模式的に示す断面図である。各構成要素の大きさの比率等は、図示した例には限定されない。また、図7の例では1つの凹部23のみを示しているが、導光板10には所定のピッチで凹部23等の構成が複数設けられる。本実施形態では、上述の構成に対応する構成要素には対応する符号を付し、説明を省略する。

Claims (10)
- 光を出射する出光面の反対側に設けられる凹部と、
前記出光面の反対側に設けられる発光素子よりも前記出光面に向かう方向である上方であって、且つ前記凹部の内側に設けられ、前記発光素子の光の少なくとも一部の進行方向を変更する第1の方向変更部と、
前記発光素子の上方であって、前記出光面よりも上に設けられ、前記発光素子の光の少なくとも一部の進行方向を変更する第2の方向変更部と、
を備える導光板。 - 前記第1の方向変更部及び第2の方向変更部は、光を遮断、反射又は拡散する材料により形成される、
請求項1に記載の導光板。 - 前記出光面に積層される光学フィルムをさらに備え、

前記導光板の前記出光面側であって、且つ前記第1の凹部よりも前記出光面に向かう方向である上方に、円錐状、円錐台状、角錐状、角錐台状又は椀状の第2の凹部が設けられた導光板。 - 前記第1の凹部及び前記第2の凹部は、それぞれ前記発光素子の光を拡散するフレネルレンズを有する
