Abstract
Description
本願は、2014年6月30日に出願された米国特許仮出願第62/019042号(U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 62/019,042)明細書の全利益に対する優先権を請求し、この出願は、引用によりその全体が明確に本明細書に組み込まれる。
1.発明の分野
本発明は、概して車両に関し、特に車両用の熱可塑性構造体及び圧縮リミッタに関する。
サブフレームのような構造体を車両に設けることが公知である。通常、サブフレームは、鋼のような金属材料から成っていて、サブフレームを形成するように互いに溶接される複数の構成要素を含んでいる。サブフレームは、金属ボルトのような適切な締結手段により車両のフレームに取り付けられる。サブフレームは、通常車両により繰り返しかけられる荷重を支持するのに十分な剛性を有することにより構造上の要件を満たす必要がある。また、サブフレームは、衝突の際に車両の衝突時の亀裂や破損に耐えるのに十分な衝撃強度を有していなければならない。鋼は、上記要件を満たす十分な剛性と十分な衝撃強度を提供するので、構造要件に合致している。しかしながら、鋼製のサブフレームは、いくつかの個別の構成部品を有し、これら構成部品の組み立てはこのような構造を比較的高価なものとする。加えて、鋼は比較的重量のある材料なので、結果として比較的大きな質量となる。
従って、本発明は、複合体圧縮リミッタであって、該複合体圧縮リミッタは、軸方向で延在する円筒状のボディを有しており、該ボディは、締結手段を収容するために前記ボディを貫通して軸方向で延在する開口を備えている。前記ボディは、約20重量%〜約65重量%の範囲の複数の繊維によって強化されたポリマ連続繊維テープから成っている。
同一の符号が複数の図面を通じて同じ部材を示している複数の図面を参照すると、図1においてその一部が二点鎖線で描かれた概略的に符号12で示されている車両用の本発明による複合熱可塑性構造体の1つの実施の形態が概略的に符号10で示されている。図2に示したように、複合熱可塑性構造体10は、車両12の二点鎖線で概略的に示された符号14が付与されたフレームを取り付けるように構成されている。フレーム14は、長手方向及び横方向又は横断方向に延在する複数のレール16を含む。1つの態様では、複合熱可塑性構造体10はフロントサブフレームであって、締結手段18のような適切な機構により車両12のフレーム14のレール16に取り付けられている。勿論、締結手段18は、金属により公知の形式で形成されてもよい。さらに、フレーム14は、鋼のような堅固な材料から形成されていてもよいことが理解される。

前記熱可塑性サブフレーム(10)は、ポリマ材料とポリマ強化テープとから成っていて、前記少なくとも1つの圧縮リミッタ(44)は、複数の繊維によって強化されたポリマテープから成っている、車両(12)の複合熱可塑性構造体。 - 前記ポリマ材料は、約20重量%〜約65重量%の範囲の複数の繊維によって強化されている、請求項13記載の複合熱可塑性構造体。
- 前記繊維は、ガラス材料及び炭素材料のうちの少なくとも1つである、請求項14記載の複合熱可塑性構造体。
- 前記繊維は、長繊維、短繊維、及び長繊維と短繊維の組み合わせのうちの少なくとも1つである、請求項14又は15記載の複合熱可塑性構造体。
- 前記強化テープは一方向(UD)テープである、請求項13記載の複合熱可塑性構造体。
- 前記UDテープは内部構造として形成されていて、前記ポリマ材料は、オーバーモールドされた前記内部構造である、請求項13記載の複合熱可塑性構造体。
- 前記ポリマ材料はPA66又はPA6ナイロンである、請求項13及び18記載の複合熱可塑性構造体。
- 前記圧縮リミッタ(44)は、連続繊維強化一方向(UD)テープである、請求項13記載の複合熱可塑性構造体。
