Description
Claims (8)
- 曲面状の表示面を有する横電界方式の液晶表示装置であって、
第1方向に曲げられ、複数のゲート線と複数のデータ線と画素電極と共通電極とを含む第1基板と、
前記第1方向に曲げられ、前記第1基板に対向配置され、偏光板を含む第2基板と、
前記第1基板及び前記第2基板の間に配置される液晶層と、
前記第1基板及び前記第2基板を貼り合わせるためのシール材と、
前記複数のゲート線及び前記複数のデータ線の少なくとも何れか一方に駆動用信号を出力する駆動ドライバと、
を含み、
平面的に見て、前記偏光板は、少なくとも前記駆動ドライバに近い辺の一部が、前記シール材に重なっている、又は、前記シール材より外側に位置している、
ことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記第1基板は、平面的に見て、前記第2基板から第1方向にはみ出たドライバ搭載領域を含み、
前記駆動ドライバは、前記ドライバ搭載領域に搭載されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記ドライバ搭載領域には、アース端子が配置され、
前記第2基板は、さらに、前記偏光板よりも前記第1基板側に導電層を含み、
当該液晶表示装置は、さらに、前記アース端子と前記導電層とを電気的に接続するための接続部材を含み、
前記偏光板における前記駆動ドライバに近い辺には、前記導電層における前記接続部材との接続領域が露出するように切り欠きが形成されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 平面的に見て、前記接続部材の一端が前記アース端子に重なり、前記接続部材の他端が前記偏光板に形成された前記切り欠きから露出された前記接続領域に重なっている、
ことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記偏光板は、前記切り欠きが形成され前記駆動ドライバに近い第1辺と、前記第1辺に対向する第2辺と、前記第1辺及び前記第2辺の一端に接続される第3辺と、前記第1辺及び前記第2辺の他端に接続される第4辺と、を含み、
平面的に見て、前記第1辺のうち前記切り欠きに接続される部分と、前記第2辺と、前記第3辺と、前記第4辺とが、前記シール材に重なっている、又は、前記シール材より外側に位置している、
ことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記切り欠きは、前記第1辺のうち、前記第3辺または前記第4辺に接続された両端よりも、前記両端の間の中央位置に近い領域に形成されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記切り欠きの角部は、円弧状に形成されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 当該液晶表示装置は、さらに、前記第2基板の表示面側に配置される前面板を含み、
前記前面板は、接着層を介して前記偏光板に接着固定されており、
前記前面板及び前記接着層は、平面的に見て、前記偏光板の全体を覆っている、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
