Abstract
Description
本明細書で使用するとき、以下の用語は、下記で指定される意味を有するものとする。
の温度及び50%の相対湿度を指す。
多層フィルム及びその作製方法が開示される。このフィルムは、フィルムのコアを形成する層の組み合わせと、この多層フィルムの外側表面の少なくとも一方、典型的には多層フィルムの外側表面のそれぞれを形成する、ポリマースキン層とを備える。フィルムのコアを形成する層の組み合わせは、本明細書では「A」層として指定される少なくとも1つの層、及び「B」層として指定される少なくとも1つの層を備え、それらの「A」層及び「B」層は、異なる組成を有する。更には、多くの実施形態は、2つ以上の「A」層及び/又は「B」層を有することが可能である。そのような実施形態では、「A」層及び「B」層は、限定するものではないが、交互の隣接する層配置構成を含めた、様々な配置構成で存在し得る。「A」層及び「B」層は、限定するものではないが、フィルムに対して剛性、強度、及び/又は補強を提供することを含めた、任意の好適な目的に役立ち得る。
本開示は更に、多層ポリマーフィルムの作製方法に関する。前述の多層ポリマーフィルムは、任意の好適な方法によって調製することができる。多層ポリマーフィルムは、既知の共押出しプロセスによって作製することができ、典型的には、平坦キャストフィルム若しくは平面シートプロセス、又は環状吹込みフィルムプロセスを使用して作製される。キャストフィルムに関しては、フィルムを作製する方法は、複数の押出し機を使用する、従来の高出力、高速のキャスト共押出しライン、並びに、「テンターフレーミング」プロセスなどの、より精巧な技術を使用するキャスト共押出しラインを、採用することを含み得る。本明細書で説明される多層フィルムはまた、従来の吹込みフィルム共押出し技術を使用して、形成することもできる。これらの加工処理条件は、使用されている材料、加工処理装置、及び所望のフィルム特性に応じて決定される。初期の多層プロセス及び構造体の実施例は、米国特許第3,565,985号、同第3,557,265号、及び同第3,884,606号に示されている。
フィルムの主要な機械的特性(例えば、引張り強度、及び引裂抵抗)を、以下の既知の分析技術を使用して測定する。
試験ウェブのウェブ弾性率及び材料弾性率を、以下のように測定する。
サンプル調製
1.試験ウェブを、縦方向(MD)での長さ610mm及び幅200mmの試験片100に切り出し、平坦テーブル上に試験片を定置して、あらゆる皺を伸ばすことにより平坦フィルムを作り出す(図11)。
2.直径9.5mmの鋼棒102を、その横方向(CD)での場所が、試験片100の一方の長手方向側部104から約1/3(約67mm)離れるように、試験片100上にMDで定置する。棒102は、後に容易に取り出されるように、試験片から約2.5cm突出させるべきである。(図11)。
3.試験片100の一方の長手方向側部104の側部を、棒102に沿って、棒102の上に折り重ね、平坦に延ばす(図12)。次いで、矢印106によって示されるように、棒102の周りに試験片100をCDでたくし込み(図13)、試験片100を巻き上げる。(図14及び図15)。
4.試験片100内に皴が発生することを防ぎ、試験片100の長手方向側部に対して棒を平行に保つように、可能な限り注意する。棒102が存在しない、巻き付けられた試験片100の第1の端縁部108を、平坦化する。この平坦化された第1の端縁部108を、試験片100の複数の層を貫通して、数回ステープル留めすることにより(第1の端縁部108のステープルは、図14での参照番号112によって指定される)、これらの層を、試験の間に滑り込むことがないように接合する。
5.試験片の巻き付けが解けないように、第2の端縁部110から慎重に棒を引き抜く。第1の端縁部108と同一平面内で平坦となるように、第2の端縁部110を平坦化して、第1の端縁部108と2の端縁部110とのステープル間の距離が、以下の引張試験機のゲージ長(508mm)に関して十分な約560mmとなるように、第2の端縁部110を数回ステープル留めする(第2の端縁部110のステープルは、図16での参照番号114によって指定される)。このように、試験サンプルが調製される。
計器(引張試験機:MTS SYNERGIE 400/MTS、TESTWORKS(商標)ver.3.06)を、以下の条件下で試験サンプルを引張するように構成する。
以下の手順に従って、測定を実施する。
1.試験サンプルの一方の端縁部を、引張試験機の上顎部内に挿入して、上顎部を閉鎖する。
2.このストリップを、上顎部と下顎部との間に位置合わせする。
3.試験サンプルの他方の端縁部を、いずれの弛みも取り除くために十分な張力で、下顎部内に定置する。
4.引張試験機のクロスヘッドの張力(荷重計)をリセットする。
5.下顎部を閉鎖して、ロードセル上の力が、試験片の重量の200%を超過しないことを確認する。
6.試験機を始動させる。
1.ASTM D4321−09を使用して、セクション8.1内の式を使用する測定収率を算出する。収率は、面積/質量の単位で報告される。
2.この収率の逆数(1/収率)を取得することによって坪量を判定し、質量/面積の単位で報告する。
1.坪量を嵩密度で除算することによって、フィルムキャリパーを算出し、長さの単位で報告する。
2.嵩密度(質量/体積)を、以下のように算出する:
ウェブ弾性率は、所定の歪みの+/−0.5%の間の点上で、線形回帰を使用して応力−歪み曲線の勾配を算出し、試験前に測定された弛緩ウェブの幅で除算することによって判定される。1%、2%、及び3%でのウェブ弾性率を報告するように、プログラムを設定する。例えば、2%でのウェブ弾性率は、以下のように算出される:
ウェブ弾性率を、上記の試験方法で測定する。このウェブ弾性率を、以下のように材料キャリパーで除算することによって、材料弾性率を算出する。
Claims (10)
- 2つの外側表面及び厚さを有する多層ポリマーフィルムであって、前記フィルムは、
前記フィルムのコアを形成する層の組み合わせを備え、前記層の組み合わせが、
a)厚さを有する少なくとも1つのポリプロピレン豊富な「A」層であって、ポリプロピレンが前記「A」層の主要構成成分であり、前記「A」層の前記厚さが前記多層ポリマーフィルムの前記厚さの10%〜30%を構成する、「A」層と、
b)厚さを有する少なくとも1つのポリエチレン豊富な「B」層であって、主要構成成分として高密度ポリエチレン(HDPE)を含み、前記「B」層が少なくとも間接的に前記「A」層に接合され、前記「B」層の前記厚さが前記多層ポリマーフィルムの前記厚さの10%〜30%を構成する、「B」層と、
を備え、
各「A」層及び各「B」層が、0.05μm以上〜15μm以下の厚さを有し、かつ、
一対のポリマースキン層を備え、1つのスキン層が、前記多層ポリマーフィルムの前記外側表面のそれぞれを形成し、前記複数のスキン層が、前記フィルム厚さの40%〜80%である組み合わせによる厚さを有し、前記フィルムの前記コアを形成する前記層の組み合わせが、少なくとも間接的に前記スキン層に接合されている、多層ポリマーフィルム。 - 前記「A」層内の前記ポリプロピレンのうちの少なくとも一部が、ホモポリマーPP、coPP、及び/又はインパクトコポリマーポリプロピレン(ICP)の、ポリプロピレンのタイプのうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項1に記載の多層ポリマーフィルム。
- 前記「A」層が、ポリプロピレンと、LDPE、LLDPE、ポリオレフィンプラストマー(POP)、ポリオレフィンエラストマー(POE)、及びオレフィンブロックコポリマー(OBC)のうちの少なくとも1つとのブレンドを含む、請求項1に記載の多層ポリマーフィルム。
- 前記「B」層内の前記HDPEが、0.95g/cm3以上の密度を有する、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の多層ポリマーフィルム。
- 前記「B」層が、
(a)前記HDPEと少なくとも1種のエチレンαオレフィンとのブレンド、
(b)前記HDPEと、ポリオレフィンプラストマー(POP)、ポリオレフィンエラストマー(POE)、及びOBCのうちの少なくとも1つとのブレンド、あるいは
(c)前記HDPEと、LDPE、LLDPE、エチレン酢酸ビニル、及びエチレンメチルアクリレートのうちの少なくとも1つとのブレンド、
のうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の多層ポリマーフィルム。 - 前記スキン層のうちの少なくとも一方が、LDPEとLLDPEとのブレンドを含む、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の多層ポリマーフィルム。
- 「A」層を2つ以上にするための追加の「A」層、
「B」層を2つ以上にするための追加の「B」層
のうちの少なくとも1つの追加の層を更に含み、前記少なくとも1つの追加の層が、前記フィルムの前記コア内に位置している、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の多層ポリマーフィルム。 - 前記「A」層及び前記「B」層とは異なる組成を有する「C」層を更に備え、前記「C」層が、前記フィルムの前記コア内に位置しており、前記「C」層が、前記フィルム厚さの10%未満の厚さを有するバルク層である、請求項1に記載の多層ポリマーフィルム。
- 前記フィルムの前記コアを形成する前記層の組み合わせが、「A」層及び「B」層を、交互の隣接する構成で備える、請求項7に記載の多層ポリマーフィルム。
- 前記フィルムの前記コアを形成する前記層の組み合わせが、追加の「B」層を備え、前記組み合わせの少なくとも一部分が、B/A/B構成で存在する、請求項9に記載の多層ポリマーフィルム。
