Abstract
Description
米国ペンシルバニア州ノースハンチントンのExOne社によって作られた、造形方向の幅が約19センチメートル、横軸方向の幅が約19センチメートル、深さ約7.6センチメートルの大きさの造形ボックスを有する二重ペデスタル式3次元印刷装置を用いて本発明の一実施態様の試行が行われた。造形粉末は、平均粒径が500ミクロンの未処理のクロマイト砂であった。ポリマーがポリビニルピロリドンK−15、キャリアーが2−メトキシエタノール、湿潤剤がジエチレングリコールである結合剤が選択された。結合剤中のポリマーの割合は約10重量パーセントであった。造形層の厚さは約600ミクロンであった。
試験用パックは本発明の一実施態様に従って、実施例1に関して記載されたのと同じ条件及び材料を用いて作られた。これらの試験用パックは、図3に示されており、直径約5.0センチメートルで高さが2.54センチメートルであった。これらの試験用パックは、浸漬喪失(loss of immersion、LOI)と透過性を測定するために用いられた。
試験棒は、本発明の一実施態様に従って、実施例1に関して記載されたのと同じ条件及び材料を用いて作られた。これらの試験棒は、図3に示されており、長さが約17.20センチメートル、幅が約2.24センチメートル、高さが約2.24センチメートルであった。これらの試験棒を用いて、引張強さを測定した。鋳型コンポーネントには、250ニュートン/平方センチメートルの最小引張強さが必要と考えられている。本発明に従って作られた試験棒のうち2本が試験に供され、引張強さはそれぞれ409ニュートン/平方センチメートル及び340ニュートン/平方センチメートルであった。
Claims (7)
- 金属製鋳型又は金属製鋳型のコンポーネントである物品の製造方法であって、
a) 当該物品の表現を入手する、
b) 造形材料として未処理の砂を選択する、
c) ポリマー、キャリアー、及び湿潤剤から成る結合剤を選択する、
d) 当該物品の表現、造形材料、及び結合剤を用いて、当該物品の3次元印刷を行う
ステップから成り、
当該物品は金属製鋳型又は金属製鋳型のコンポーネントであるように適合されていることを特徴とする方法。 - 前記ポリマーが、ポリビニルピロリドン、ショ糖、果糖、異性化糖、及びポリビニルアルコールから成る群から選択される、請求項1の方法。
- 前記ポリマーが、約10〜約100のK値を持つポリビニルピロリドンである、請求項2の方法。
- 前記キャリアーが、水、2−ブトキシエタノール、及びイソプロピルアルコールから成る群から選択される、請求項2の方法。
- 前記湿潤剤が、ジエチレングリコール、エチレングリコール、プロピレングリコール、ポリプロピレングリコール、及びグリセロールから成る群から選択される、請求項2の方法。
- 前記結合剤が、2−メトキシエタノール、2−ブトキシエタノール、シリコーン油、ラウリル硫酸ナトリウム、エタノール、イソプロピルアルコールから成る群から選択される界面活性剤も含む、請求項2の方法。
- 未処理の砂が、ケイ砂、融解ケイ砂、湖砂、堆砂、山砂、クロマイト砂、ジルコン砂、オリビン砂、アルミナ砂、ムライト砂、合成砂、及びこれらを混合したものから成る群から選択される、請求項1の方法。
