Abstract
【解決手段】画像表示装置180において、屈折率分布可変パネル60Gの画素単位で光変調装置18Gから射出された光の通過領域に関して屈折率の分布を変化させる。画像表示装置180を組み込んだプロジェクター2では、光変調装置18Gの直後に屈折率分布可変パネル60Gを挿入することで、どのような形状のスクリーン(被照射面)であっても、全ての領域でフォーカスを合わせることが可能となる。

以下に図面を参照して、本発明の第1実施形態に係る画像表示装置を組み込んだプロジェクターについて詳細に説明する。
以下、図7及び図8を参照して、本発明の第2実施形態に係る画像表示装置を組み込んだ透過型表示装置について詳細に説明する。
Claims (11)
- 光を射出する照明光学系と、
前記照明光学系から射出した光を変調する光変調装置と、
前記光変調装置の光路後段に配置され、前記光変調装置から射出された光の通過領域に応じて屈折率を画素単位または複数の画素を含む領域単位で変化させる屈折率分布可変パネルと
を備える画像表示装置。 - 前記屈折率分布可変パネルは、光透過型の液晶パネルである、請求項1に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記光変調装置と前記屈折率分布可変パネルの間には、前記屈折率分布可変パネルに入射すべき光の偏光状態を揃える射出側偏光板を有する、請求項1及び2のいずれか一項に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記光変調装置は、光透過型の液晶ライトバルブであり、
前記屈折率分布可変パネルを構成する1つの画素は、前記液晶ライトバルブを構成する1以上の画素に対応している、請求項1から3までのいずれか一項に記載の画像表示装置。 - 前記屈折率分布可変パネルは、垂直配向型の液晶パネルである、請求項1から4までのいずれか一項に記載の画像表示装置。
- 請求項1から5までのいずれか一項に記載の画像表示装置と、
前記光変調装置で変調された光を投影する投写光学系と
を備えるプロジェクター。 - 前記屈折率分布可変パネルは、前記光変調装置と前記投写光学系との間に配置される、請求項6に記載のプロジェクター。
- 前記投写光学系により照射されるべき被照射面の面形状の情報を取り込む形状取込部と、前記形状取込部に取り込んだ情報に基づいて前記屈折率分布可変パネルにおける屈折率の分布を制御する屈折率分布制御部とをさらに有する、請求項6及び7のいずれか一項に記載のプロジェクター。
- 請求項1から5までのいずれか一項に記載の画像表示装置と、
前記画像表示装置からの映像光を内面側で反射させつつ導く導光装置と、
を備える、透過型表示装置。 - 前記屈折率分布可変パネルは、前記光変調装置と前記導光装置との間に配置される、請求項9に記載の透過型表示装置。
- 前記画像表示装置と前記導光装置とは、右眼用の映像光と左眼用の映像光をそれぞれ生じさせるように左右一対で構成され、
左右一対で構成される前記屈折率分布可変パネルは、前記右眼用の映像光と前記左眼用の映像光とで屈折率の分布が異なるように前記画素単位または前記領域単位で変化する、請求項9及び10のいずれか一項に記載の透過型表示装置。
