Abstract
Description
この方法の一実施の形態において、選択された形状は曲げを含む。
再成形可能領域106が成形された後、材料シート100を冷却してもよい。ガラス含有材料の場合、材料シート100を、ガラス含有材料の粘度がおよそ1013ポアズ(1012Pa・s)以上になる温度範囲まで典型的には冷却してもよい。成形された再成形可能領域を含む材料シートを、成形物品と称する。成形物品はアニールしてもよい。成形物品のエッジは、最終的なサイズまたは形状を得るために、仕上げ、トリミング、または輪郭形成を行ってもよい。成形物品にイオン交換プロセスを施してもよい。典型的には、イオン交換プロセスは、成形物品をアルカリ金属の塩を含む溶融浴中に浸漬させるものであり、このアルカリ金属のイオン半径は、成形物品のガラス含有材料内に含有されているアルカリ金属イオンの半径よりも大きい。溶融浴中の、より大きいアルカリ金属イオンが、成形物品のガラス含有材料内の、より小さいアルカリ金属イオンと置き換わり、成形物品の表面で、またはその表面近傍で、望ましい圧縮応力をもたらす。イオン交換の後、成形物品の表面を汚れ防止コーティングで保護してもよい。

Claims (2)
- 材料シートを成形物品へと曲げるための装置であって、
前記材料シートを保持するための支持体、および、
前記材料シートが前記支持体上で保持されている間に、前記材料シートの再成形可能領域を、選択された粘度範囲に対応する選択された温度範囲に、局所的に加熱する加熱手段であって、熱源と、該熱源からの熱を前記材料シートの前記再成形可能領域上に集中させるための選択された部材とを含んでいる、加熱手段、
を備え、
前記熱を集中させる前記部材が、
(a)前記熱を前記材料シートの前記再成形可能領域上に反射する楕円ミラーを含む、光学部材、および、
(b)前記熱を前記材料シートの前記再成形可能領域上に集中させる開口を有した耐熱シールドを含む、シールド部材
から成る群より選択されたものである、
装置。 - 前記熱源が抵抗型加熱器であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の装置。
