Abstract
Description
1)第1一次コイルの通電によって発生する放電の開始から終了までの第1放電期間と、第2一次コイルの通電によって発生する放電の開始から終了までの第2放電期間とが一部において重複し、
2)第1放電期間の始期が第2放電期間の始期より前となり、
3)重複放電期間が、第1放電期間と、吹き消え閾値と、第1放電期間始期の放電電流値である放電開始電流値とに応じて設定される設定重複期間と等しくなる。
TTGT=TSP1×ISPTH/ISPPKL (A)
ここで、TTGTは前記目標期間、TSP1は前記第1放電期間、ISPTHは前記吹き消え閾値、ISPPKLは前記放電開始電流値である。
図1は本発明の一実施形態にかかる内燃機関の点火装置要部の構成を示す図であり、図2は点火装置に含まれる2つのコイル対と、該コイル対が巻回された鉄心とを示す縦断面である。

Claims (4)
- 点火プラグと、該点火プラグに火花放電を発生させるためのコイル対を1つの点火プラグに対応して2つ備える駆動回路と、前記駆動回路の第1コイル対に供給する第1点火信号及び前記駆動回路の第2コイル対に供給する第2点火信号を生成する制御手段とを備える、内燃機関の点火装置において、
前記制御手段は、
前記第1コイル対を構成する第1一次コイルの通電によって発生する放電の開始から終了までの第1放電期間と、前記第2コイル対を構成する第2一次コイルの通電によって発生する放電の開始から終了までの第2放電期間とが一部において重複し、その重複放電期間が設定重複期間となり、かつ前記第1放電期間の始期が前記第2放電期間の始期より前となるように、前記第1及び第2点火信号を生成し、
前記設定重複期間は、前記第1放電期間と、前記点火プラグにおける放電電流が短時間遮断される吹き消えが発生しない放電電流値の最小値である吹き消え閾値と、前記第1放電期間の始期の放電電流値である放電開始電流値とに応じて設定されることを特徴とする内燃機関の点火装置。 - 前記制御手段は、前記第1及び第2一次コイルの通電期間を同一として、前記第1一次コイルの通電開始時期からオフセット期間経過後に前記第2一次コイルの通電を開始し、
前記オフセット期間は、前記第1放電期間から前記設定重複期間を減算した期間であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の内燃機関の点火装置。 - 前記設定重複期間は、下記式によって算出される目標期間の近傍の期間であってかつ該目標期間以上の期間に設定されることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の内燃機関の点火装置:
TTGT=TSP1×ISPTH/ISPPKL
ここで、TTGTは前記目標期間、TSP1は前記第1放電期間、ISPTHは前記吹き消え閾値、ISPPKLは前記放電開始電流値である。 - 前記制御手段は、前記機関の燃焼室内で発生するガス流動と相関がある機関運転パラメータに応じて前記吹き消え閾値を算出する吹き消え閾値算出手段を備え、
該吹き消え閾値算出手段により算出された吹き消え閾値を用いて前記設定重複期間の設定を行うことを特徴とする請求項1から3の何れか1項に記載の内燃機関の点火装置。
