示されているように、クランプ動作インジケータ機構７３は、単一のアクチュエータ７５と単一のスイッチアセンブリ７７のみを含み、ステープル留めインジケータ機構８３は、単一のアクチュエータ８５と単一のスイッチアセンブリ８７のみを含むが、クランプ動作インジケータ機構７３およびステープル留めインジケータ機構８３のそれぞれは、半区画１２ｂ内に搭載される第２のスイッチアセンブリ（示されていない）を含み得る。クランプ動作インジケータ機構７３の第２のスイッチアセンブリは、第２のスライドクランプ部材（示されていない）上に搭載される第２のアクチュエータ（示されていない）に対応し、アクチュエータ７５およびスイッチアセンブリ７７に類似の態様において動作し、これによって、第２のスライドクランプ部材の遠位への前進が完了すると、クランプ動作ＬＥＤインジケータ１３ｂの点灯を生じる。ステープル留めアクチュエータ８５は、ステープル留め機構８３の第２のスイッチアセンブリと係合するように改変され得、またはその代わりに、第２のステープル留めアクチュエータ（示されていない）が第２のスイッチアセンブリと係合するようにスラストバー７０に追加され得る。
ここで図５および図６を参照すると、外科用ステープラ１０はまた、アンビルアセンブリ２２のアライメントキャップ３９内に動作可能に搭載されたピンアライメントインジケータ機構９３を含む。アライメントキャップ３９は、アライメントピン３８を選択的に受取るために構成されたピン受取り開口部３９ａを含む。アライメント開口部３９ａは、アライメントピン３８用の引込みを提供するために傾けられ得る。ピンアライメント機構９３は、ピンアライメントスイッチアセンブリ９７を含む（透視して示されている）。スイッチアセンブリ９７は、アライメントキャップ３９の開口部３９ａ内へのアライメントピン３８の受取りによって、半区画１２ａ上に形成されたピンアライメントＬＥＤインジケータ１３ａ（図１）を点灯するように構成される。アライメントキャップ３９の開口部３９ａ内へのアライメントピン３８の受取りは、カートリッジアセンブリ２０とアンビルアセンブリ２２との間に組織（示されていない）を捕捉するための近接ストロークに先立って発生する。ピンアライメントスイッチアセンブリ９７は、アライメントキャップ３９の開口部３９ａ内へのアライメントピン３８の受取りによって一周を完了することができる任意のスイッチ切替機構を含む。一実施形態において、アライメントスイッチアセンブリ９７は、アライメントピン３８との係合によって曲折するレバーまたはスイッチ（示されていない）を含む。代替の実施形態において、アライメントピン３８は、ピンアライメントスイッチアセンブリ９７との係合によって電気回路の部分を規定する伝導性の部分（示されていない）を含み得る。上述されたように、アライメントピン３８は、親指ボタン２４を使用して手動で前進され、または、上記の参照によって援用された‘５０８特許において詳細に記載されたように、ステープラ１０の近接ストローク期間中に自動的に前進され得る。ピンアライメントスイッチアセンブリ９７は、配線「Ｗ」によって電池５５（図２）とピンアライメントＬＥＤインジケータ１３ａとに電気的に接続される。配線「Ｗ」は、示されているように、本体１２の外側部分上に配置され得、または、好ましくはその代わりに本体１２の半区画１２ａ、１２ｂ内に維持され得る。
ここで図７〜図１１を参照して、外科用ステープラ１０およびインジケータアセンブリ７３、８３、９３の動作が記載される。最初に図７を参照すると、外科用ステープラ１０は、第１の、またはクランプ前の状態で示されている。アライメントピン３８は、親指ボタン２４を使用して手動で前進されている。アライメントキャップ３９の開口部３９ａを通したアライメントピン３８の受取りによる、ピンアライメントスイッチアセンブリ９７（図５）とのアライメントピン３８の係合は、ピンアライメントＬＥＤインジケータ１３ａの点灯を生じる。ピンアライメントＬＥＤインジケータ１３ａの点灯は、アライメントピン３８がアライメントキャップ３９の開口部３９ａ内に受取られたことの視覚的指示を使用者に提供する。
ここで図８および図９に注目すると、トリガ１６は、矢印「Ａ」で指示された方向に、固定ハンドル１４に向かって移動され、これにより、クランプスライド６６（図２）を後退位置から前進位置または近接位置に向かって前進させる。上述されたように、クランプスライド部材６６の前進の完了によって、クランプアクチュエータ７５がクランプ動作インジケータスイッチアセンブリ７７と係合し、これにより、クランプ動作ＬＥＤインジケータ１３ｂの点灯を生じる。クランプ動作ＬＥＤインジケータ１３ｂの点灯は、クランプ動作ストロークが完了し、外科用ステープラ１０がクランプ状態にあることの視覚的指示を使用者に提供する。外科用ステープラ１０の近接ストローク期間中にクランプアクチュエータ７５がクランプ動作インジケータスイッチアセンブリ７７と係合しない場合、クランプ動作ＬＥＤインジケータ１３ｂは点灯されない。インジケータ１３ａは好ましくは点灯されたままであることに留意する。
‘５０８特許において詳細に論述されたように、トリガ１６の近接ストロークが完了した後、トリガ１６は、その放出によって非圧迫位置に復帰し、これによって、外科用ステープラ１０をステープル発射（ステープル留め）ストロークのために準備する。ステープル留めストロークに先立ち、組織（示されていない）がアライメントピン３８（図５）によってカートリッジアセンブリ２０とアンビルアセンブリ２２との間に捕捉される。
図１０および図１１は、矢印「Ｂ」で指示されているように、トリガ１６がステープル留めストロークを通して移動された後の外科用ステープラ１０を図示する。ステープル留め期間中、スラストバー７０は、クランプスライド部材とは独立して本体１２内で遠位に移動する。上述されたように、スラストバー７０の遠位への前進の完了は、ステープル留めインジケータスイッチアセンブリ８７とのステープル留めアクチュエータ８５の係合を生じ、これによって、ステープル留めＬＥＤインジケータ１３ｃの点灯を生じる。ステープル留めＬＥＤインジケータ１３ｃの点灯は、外科用ステープラ１０がステープル発射ストロークを成功裏に完了したことを使用者に視覚的に指示する。インジケータ１３ａおよびインジケータ１３ｂは、好ましくは点灯されたままであることに留意する。ステープル留めストローク期間中にステープル留めＬＥＤインジケータ１３ｃがうまく点灯しない場合、使用者は、外科用ステープルが発射されていないことの視覚的指示が提供される。
引き続き図１０を参照すると、ステープル留めストロークの完了後、放出ボタン１５０が押下され、ばね（示されていない）がスラストバー７０（図２）とクランプスライド部材６６（図２）とを初期位置またはクランプ前の位置まで近位方向に復帰させ、インジケータはもはや点灯されない。これによって、外科用ステープラ１０は再装填および使用の準備がなされる。
本明細書において開示された実施形態に対して様々な改変がなされ得ることが理解されよう。例えば、外科用ステープル留めデバイスの構成部品は、外科用途に適合した、必要な強度特性を有した任意の材料で形成され得る。それゆえ、上述は、限定的にではなく、単に好ましい実施形態の例証として解釈されるべきである。当業者は、本明細書に添付の特許請求の範囲の意図および範囲内において、他の改変を想起するであろう。

Claims (15)
- 第１の位置と第２の位置との間で移行するように構成されたアライメントピンであって、前記アライメントピンは、インジケータ回路に電気的に接続可能な伝導性材料を含む、アライメントピンと、
前記インジケータ回路に電気的に接続可能な伝導性端子を含むピン受取り機構であって、前記アライメントピンが前記第２の位置に移行されるとき、前記受取り機構は、前記アライメントピンを受容するように構成されており、前記アライメントピンが前記第１の位置と前記第２の位置との間および前記第２の位置と前記第１の位置との間で移行するとき、前記インジケータ回路は、少なくとも１つのインジケータを起動するように完了される、ピン受取り機構と
を含む、医療デバイス。 - 前記少なくとも１つのインジケータは、視覚的インジケータ、可聴的インジケータ、触覚的インジケータのうちの少なくとも１つを含む、請求項１に記載の医療デバイス。

- 前記医療デバイスのカートリッジアセンブリが前記医療デバイスのアンビルアセンブリに向かって近接されるとき、前記アライメントピンは、自動的に移動可能である、請求項５に記載の医療デバイス。
- 前記医療デバイスは、前記ステープラの少なくとも１つの他の条件を示すように構成された前記医療デバイスに搭載された少なくとも第２のインジケータを含む、請求項１に記載の医療デバイス。
- 組織を把持するために開位置と把持位置との間で移行するように構成された把持アセンブリをさらに含み、前記アライメントピンは、前記把持アセンブリを前記開位置と前記把持位置との間で移行する間に、前記把持アセンブリを整列するように構成されている、請求項１に記載の医療デバイス。
