Claims (6)
- 複数画素が形成されて画像を表示する表示領域を有する表示装置であって、
前記複数画素のそれぞれは、
発光により当該画素の輝度を制御する輝度制御部と、
前記輝度制御部からの発光を透過する透過波長帯域を制御することにより、当該画素における発光色を制御する発光色制御部と、を有し、
前記複数画素の前記発光色制御部には、前記透過波長帯域を制御して当該画素における発光色を制御する発光色制御信号が入力される、
ことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1に記載された表示装置であって、
前記発光色制御信号を出力する発光色制御信号出力部は、前記表示領域内の複数画素で個別に入力される前記発光色制御信号、あるいは、前記表示領域を区分した区分領域内の複数画素で共通して入力される前記発光色制御信号を出力する、
ことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項2に記載された表示装置であって、
前記発光色制御部は、有機エレクトロクロミック層を含んで構成される、
ことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項3に記載された表示装置であって、
前記有機エレクトロクロミック層は、第1電極層と第2電極層に挟持されて、前記第1電極層と前記第2電極層の間に印加される信号によって透過波長帯域が制御され、
前記第2電極層は、前記表示領域内の複数画素に共通となるように形成され、
前記第1電極層は、前記表示領域における1又は複数の行毎、あるいは、1又は複数の列毎に共通となるように形成される、
ことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項4に記載された表示装置であって、
前記第1電極層は、前記表示領域の外側に延在するように形成されて、前記表示領域の外側にて形成されるコンタクトホールを介して、前記発光色制御信号を伝達する信号線と接続する、
ことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項4に記載された表示装置であって、
前記輝度制御部は、有機エレクトロルミネッセンスによって発光する有機EL層を含んで構成され、
前記有機EL層は、前記第2電極層を基準として前記第1電極層が形成される側とは反対側に形成される第3電極層と、前記第2電極層との間に挟持されて、前記第2電極層と前記第3電極層の間に印加される信号によって当該画素における輝度が制御される、
ことを特徴とする表示装置。
