Claims (5)
- 内燃機関の排気系に排出された排ガス中の酸素濃度を検出する酸素濃度センサの検出結果を用いて、当該内燃機関に関連するデバイスの故障判定を実行するとともに、吸気弁の閉弁タイミングが変更可能な可変バルブタイミング機構を有する内燃機関の制御装置であって、
前記内燃機関の通常運転時に、前記吸気弁の閉弁タイミングをピストンの下死点よりも遅角側に制御するとともに、前記故障判定の実行時に、前記吸気弁の閉弁タイミングを前記通常運転時よりも進角側に制御する制御手段を備えていることを特徴とする内燃機関の制御装置。 - 前記可変バルブタイミング機構は、前記閉弁タイミングに加えて、前記吸気弁の開弁タイミングを変更可能に構成されており、
前記排気系に排出された排ガスの一部を、前記内燃機関の吸気系に還流するための外部EGR装置を、さらに備え、
前記制御手段は、前記故障判定の実行時に、前記外部EGR装置により還流する外部EGR量を減少させるように制御することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の内燃機関の制御装置。 - 前記制御手段は、前記外部EGR量を減少させてから、前記吸気弁の閉弁タイミングを進角側に制御することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の内燃機関の制御装置。
- 前記故障判定の実行時に、前記吸気弁の閉弁タイミングの進角量を設定する進角量設定手段を、さらに備え、
前記制御手段は、前記設定された進角量に応じて、前記外部EGR量を減少させることを特徴とする請求項2又は3に記載の内燃機関の制御装置。 - 前記制御手段は、前記故障判定の実行時に、前記外部EGR量を0に設定することを特徴とする請求項2又は3に記載の内燃機関の制御装置。
