Abstract
Description
本願は、オーストラリア特許仮出願第2011/902876号の優先権を主張し、該仮出願の全内容が相互参照により本明細書に組み込まれる。
a)界面活性剤の水溶液を該溶液が第一の表面張力を有するために十分な濃度で調製し、ここで、第一の表面張力は、これを超えると層状材料の剥離を支援しないという閾値表面張力未満であり;
b)ある量の層状材料を溶液に添加して懸濁液を形成し;
c)懸濁液を超音波処理し、懸濁液の表面張力を超音波処理の開始からの時間の関数として決定し;
d)時間に対する表面張力の曲線が上向きでなくなる表面張力である閾値表面張力を工程c)の結果から決定し;
e)工程c)の条件下で閾値表面張力を達成するために必要とされる時間Tを決定し;
f)第一の表面張力を達成するために十分な界面活性剤を有し、かつ層状材料を含む第二の懸濁液を調製し;
g)(C2 - C1)/T[式中、C1は、第一の表面張力を達成するために必要とされる界面活性剤の濃度であり、C2は、閾値表面張力を達成するために必要とされる界面活性剤の濃度である]の速度で界面活性剤を添加しつつ、工程c)の場合と同じ超音波処理条件下で上記懸濁液を超音波処理する
ことを含む方法を提供する。
・ナノ複合材料における耐荷重性要素としての使用、
・塗料中の顔料としての使用(それらは、いくらかの場合には強力に熱を吸収するため)、
・機能性流体における固相としての使用、
・水溶液からの重金属および/または放射性同位体イオンの除去のためのカチオン結合または交換における使用、
・それらのユニークな構造に起因した、水性懸濁液およびエマルジョン中でのレオロジー改質剤としての使用、
・食品、医薬品および農業製品への添加物としての使用(多くの好適なブロックコポリマー界面活性剤がFDAおよびEPA認可を受けている)、
・高い強度および耐熱性を有するカーボンフォームまたはエアロゲル/キセロゲルの成分としての使用、
・難燃性ペイントおよび塗料における使用。
超音波剥離を用いる水中の高濃度グラフェン懸濁液の調製のための実験の詳細
2つの方法を利用して、水性条件下で単一および多層グラフェンシートを生成した。第一のものは、超音波剥離を用いるグラフェンの生成に先立ち界面活性剤の単回添加を行うバッチプロセスである。第二の方法は、剥離プロセス中に界面活性剤の連続添加を伴う。これら両方の方法を以下で詳述する。
気−液界面張力の40〜43mJm-2の規定範囲への低下に好適である範囲の界面活性剤を研究した。これらの界面活性剤としては、カチオン性界面活性剤テトラデシルトリメチルアンモニウムクロリド(TTAB)、ヘキサデシルトリメチルアンモニウムクロリド(CTAB)、アニオン性界面活性剤ドデシル硫酸ナトリウム(SDS)、および14300Daの合計分子量までの様々なブロック長を伴うPEO-PPO-PEO構成を有するブロックコポリマー界面活性剤(ABA型)であるポロキサマーとして一般的に公知のイオン性界面活性剤が挙げられる。純水中で溶液を調製して、所望の表面張力を得た。例えば、CTABを使用する場合、最適な濃度は、6x10-4molL-1であり、プルロニックF108については、0.1% w/wの濃度を用いた。
明らかに、生成されるグラフェンの収量に影響を及ぼす多数の要因がある。界面活性剤の種類は、明確な影響を及ぼす。臨界ミセル濃度が高い(およびしたがってdγ/dcが低い)界面活性剤ほど、より高い剥離グラフェン濃度をもたらす。さらに、剥離時間は有意な影響を及ぼす。ここで、生成される収量、表面張力および時間の間の相関関係は、界面活性剤が溶液から枯渇されることを示す。したがって、グラフェンのより高い全体濃度をもたらすための界面活性剤の連続添加を含む、以下で概説する第二の方法を展開した。
方法2:界面活性剤の連続添加を用いるグラフェン剥離
剥離WS2粒子の水性懸濁液の生成
前に記載したような界面活性剤支援超音波剥離技術を用いてWS2ナノ粒子懸濁液を調製した。バルクWS2の2% w/w懸濁液をMilli-Q(登録商標)水に添加した。「Cell Disruptor」(登録商標)Model W-220F(Heat Systems-Ultrasonics Inc.)超音波処理器を使用して60Wで継続的に音波処理しながら、非イオン性界面活性剤を高濃度溶液から添加して水中の界面活性剤の濃度をおおよそ0.1% w/wで維持した。この剥離手順は、固−液表面積の莫大な増加を生じさせる結果となり、これは、粒子表面への吸着による界面活性剤の急速な枯渇をもたらす。したがって、音波処理中の界面活性剤の連続添加は、有意により多いナノ粒子WS2収量をもたらす。この界面活性剤濃度は、前に記載したような約40〜42mJ/m2の最適表面張力の維持に好適である。
界面活性剤支援剥離技術を用いて単一および数層のタルクを生成した。タルク(2g)を100mLのMilli-Q(登録商標)水に添加した。60Wでの継続的な音波処理による剥離中ずっと界面活性剤(Pluronic(登録商標)F108)を添加した。典型的には、10% w/wの濃度を有するF018水溶液を使用し、毎分1mLの速度で添加し、懸濁液中の界面活性剤の濃度を約0.1% w/wで維持した。この濃度は、液相の表面張力を40〜42mJ/m2の領域に低下させた。
Claims (29)
- 層状材料を剥離させて剥離材料を形成するための方法であって、
前記剥離材料を形成するために十分な時間、前記層状材料を界面活性剤の溶液中で超音波処理することを含み、溶液中の界面活性剤の濃度は、超音波処理中常に、溶液中で層状材料および剥離材料の表面に完全単層を形成するために十分であるように維持されることを特徴とする、方法。 - 層状材料を剥離させて剥離材料を形成するための方法であって、
前記剥離材料を形成するために十分な時間、前記層状材料を界面活性剤の溶液中で超音波処理することを含み、溶液中の界面活性剤の濃度は、超音波処理中常に、層状および剥離材料を凝集に対して立体的に安定化するために十分であるように維持されることを特徴とする、方法。 - 界面活性剤の濃度が、溶液中で層状材料および剥離材料の表面に完全単層を形成するために十分であるように維持されることを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 濃度が、剥離材料の1m2あたり約0.5〜約5mgの界面活性剤であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 界面活性剤が、高分子界面活性剤であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 界面活性剤が、非イオン性界面活性剤であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 界面活性剤が、エチレンオキシドとプロピレンオキシドとのコポリマーであることを特徴とする、請求項5または6に記載の方法。
- 界面活性剤が、約0未満のdγ/dc値を有することを特徴とする、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 層状材料がグラファイトであり、剥離材料がグラフェンであることを特徴とする、請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 超音波処理前の溶液中の界面活性剤の濃度が、溶液中で層状材料から形成される剥離材料の表面に完全単層を形成するために十分であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜9のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 超音波処理前の溶液中の界面活性剤の濃度が、層状および剥離材料を凝集に対して立体的に安定化するために十分であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜10のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 界面活性剤が、超音波処理中に溶液に、溶液中の界面活性剤の濃度が超音波処理中常に溶液中で層状材料および剥離材料の表面に完全単層を形成するために十分である十分な速度で添加されることを特徴とする、請求項1〜11に記載の方法。
- 界面活性剤の濃度および性質が、溶液の表面張力が超音波処理中常に溶液および剥離材料の界面張力とほぼ同じであることを特徴とする、請求項1〜12のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 溶液が水溶液であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜13のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 剥離材料をその中に有する溶液を乾燥させることをさらに含むことを特徴とする、請求項1〜14のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 剥離材料を溶媒に再懸濁させることを含むことを特徴とする、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 高分子界面活性剤の溶液中の剥離材料の懸濁液。
- 少なくとも約3ヶ月間、剥離材料の再凝集に耐える、請求項17に記載の懸濁液。
- 乾燥剥離材料の表面が、高分子界面活性剤で実質的に完全にコーティングされている、乾燥剥離材料。
- 界面活性剤が、非イオン性界面活性剤である、請求項17〜19のいずれか1項に記載の懸濁液または乾燥剥離材料。
- 界面活性剤が、エチレンオキシドとプロピレンオキシドとのコポリマーである、請求項19または20に記載の懸濁液または乾燥剥離材料。
- 界面活性剤が、約0未満のdγ/dc値を有する、請求項17〜21のいずれか1項に記載の懸濁液または乾燥剥離材料。
- 剥離材料がグラフェンである、請求項17〜22のいずれか1項に記載の懸濁液または乾燥剥離材料。
- 層状材料の剥離における高分子界面活性剤の使用。
- 界面活性剤が非イオン性界面活性剤である、請求項24に記載の使用。
- 界面活性剤が、エチレンオキシドとプロピレンオキシドとのコポリマーである、請求項24または25に記載の使用。
- 界面活性剤が、約0未満のdγ/dc値を有する、請求項24〜26のいずれか1項に記載の使用。
- 層状材料がグラファイトである、請求項24〜27のいずれか1項に記載の使用。
- 層状材料を剥離させて剥離材料を形成するための方法であって、
a)第一の表面張力を有する界面活性剤水溶液を調製し、ここに、第一の表面張力は、これを超えると層状材料の剥離を支援しないという閾値表面張力よりも小さく;
b)ある量の層状材料を溶液に添加して懸濁液を形成し;
c)懸濁液を超音波処理し、懸濁液の表面張力を超音波処理の開始からの時間の関数として決定し;
d)時間に対する表面張力の曲線が上向きでなくなる表面張力である閾値表面張力を工程c)の結果から決定し;
e)工程c)の条件下で閾値表面張力を達成するために必要とされる時間Tを決定し;
f)第一の表面張力を達成するために十分な界面活性剤を有し、かつ層状材料を含む第二の懸濁液を調製し;
g)(C2-C1)/T[式中、C1は、第一の表面張力を達成するために必要とされる界面活性剤の濃度であり、C2は、閾値表面張力を達成するために必要とされる界面活性剤の濃度である]の速度で界面活性剤を添加しつつ、工程c)の場合と同じ超音波処理条件下で前記懸濁液を超音波処理する
ことを含み、
工程g)が、必要な剥離度を達成するために十分な時間行われることを特徴とする、方法。
