ここで、「M」は四面体の電気原子価を平衡させる3以下の原子価を有する少なくとも1種類のカチオンであり、一般に交換性カチオン部位と呼ばれ、「n」はカチオンの原子価を表し、「y」は水のモル数を表す(yは、Mの種類及び結晶の水和度に応じて9以下の値である)。ゼオライトXは比較的良く解明された細孔構造を有する。ゼオライトXが始めに製造される際には、カチオン「M」は通常は主としてナトリウムであり、したがってナトリウム型ゼオライトXと呼ばれる。ゼオライトXの解明されたSiO2/Al2O3モル比は2.5±0.5の範囲である。一態様においては、第1のゼオライトXは2.3〜2.7の範囲のシリカ/アルミナのモル比を有し、場合によっては2.5である。

- 2.0〜3.0のシリカ/アルミナのモル比を有する第1のゼオライトX;
バインダー転化ゼオライトXと第1のゼオライトXとの比が重量基準で10:90〜20:80の範囲であるバインダー転化ゼオライトX;及び
カリウムがバインダレスBaKXゼオライト吸着剤の0.9重量%〜1.5重量%の範囲であり、バリウムがバインダレスBaKXゼオライト吸着剤の30重量%〜34重量%の範囲であるバインダレスBaKXゼオライト吸着剤内のカチオン交換性部位におけるバリウム及びカリウム;

- 900℃におけるLOIがバインダレスBaKXゼオライト吸着剤の4重量%〜7重量%である、請求項1に記載のバインダレスBaKXゼオライト吸着剤。
- 2.0〜3.0のシリカ/アルミナのモル比を有するゼオライトX、カオリンクレーバインダー、及びカルボキシメチルセルロースから形成される、イオン交換性部位を有する凝集体を形成し;
凝集体を活性化して、カオリンクレーバインダーをメタカオリンクレーバインダーに転化させ;
カルボキシメチルセルロースを消散させ;
メタカオリンクレーバインダーをバインダー転化ゼオライトXに転化させ;
イオン交換性部位をバリウム及びカリウムで交換して、バインダレスBaKXゼオライト吸着剤の0.9重量%〜1.5重量%の範囲の量のカリウム、及びバインダレスBaKXゼオライト吸着剤の30重量%〜34重量%の範囲の量のバリウムを有するバインダレスBaKXゼオライト吸着剤を与え;そして
バインダレスBaKXゼオライト吸着剤を乾燥する;
ことを含む、バインダレスBaKXゼオライト吸着剤の製造方法。 - 凝集体を形成する工程が、ゼオライトX、カオリンクレーバインダー、及びカルボキシメチルセルロースを混合することを含み、ここでカオリンクレーバインダーに対するゼオライトXの割合は重量基準で80:20〜90:10の範囲であり、カルボキシメチルセルロースの量はカオリンクレーバインダー及びゼオライトXの合計重量の5重量%以下である、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 凝集体を形成する工程が、2.3〜2.7のシリカ/アルミナのモル比を有するゼオライトXを有する凝集体を形成することを含む、請求項5に記載の方法。
- イオン交換性部位を交換する工程が、カチオン交換性部位におけるナトリウムの量を減少させて、バインダレスBaKXゼオライト吸着剤の0.15重量%未満のナトリウム含量を有するバインダレスBaKXゼオライト吸着剤を与えることを含む、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 凝集体を活性化する工程が凝集体を625℃〜700℃の温度に加熱することを含み、メタカオリンクレーバインダーをバインダー転化ゼオライトXに転化させる工程がメタカオリンクレーバインダーをアルカリ金属水酸化物水溶液で苛性消化することを含む、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 供給混合物を、2.0〜3.0のシリカ/アルミナのモル比を有する第1のゼオライトX部分;バインダー転化ゼオライトX部分;及びバインダレスBaKXゼオライト吸着剤内のカチオン交換性部位におけるバリウム及びカリウム;を含み、カリウムはバインダレスBaKXゼオライト吸着剤の0.9重量%〜1.5重量%の範囲であり、バリウムはバインダレスBaKXゼオライト吸着剤の30重量%〜34重量%の範囲であるバインダレスBaKXゼオライト吸着剤と接触させ;
パラキシレンをバインダレスBaKXゼオライト吸着剤の上に吸着させ;
供給混合物のより低い選択性で吸着している部分を、バインダレスBaKXゼオライト吸着剤の接触からラフィネート流として除去し;そして
脱着剤による脱着によって、バインダレスBaKXゼオライト吸着剤からパラキシレンを回収する;
ことを含む、少なくとも1種類の他のC8芳香族異性体を含む供給混合物からパラキシレンを分離するための吸着分離方法。
