Abstract
【解決手段】顔料と、場合により担体と、分散剤とを含む出発物質である顔料分散物を、最終的な顔料分散物が、所望の顔料平均粒径の少なくとも1つを有し、所望の顔料粒度分布が得られるまで、平均粒径が約100μm以下の粉砕媒体で粉砕することと;場合により、最終的な顔料分散物から粉砕媒体を分離することと;場合により、最終的な顔料分散物を希釈し、所望の顔料粒子濃度を得ること、とを含む所管の粒径を有する顔料分散物を調製するための方法。

Description
顔料と、場合により担体と、分散剤とを含む出発物質である顔料分散物を、最終的な顔料分散物が、所望の顔料平均粒径の少なくとも1つを有し、所望の顔料粒度分布が得られるまで、平均粒径が約100μm以下の粉砕媒体で粉砕することと;
場合により、最終的な顔料分散物から粉砕媒体を分離することと;
場合により、最終的な顔料分散物を希釈し、所望の顔料粒子濃度を得ることとを含む。
(1)顔料と、場合により担体と、分散剤とを含む出発物質である顔料分散物を提供することと;
(2)出発物質である顔料分散物と、平均粒径が約100μm以下の粉砕媒体とを混合することと;
(3)最終的な顔料分散物が、所望の顔料平均粒径の少なくとも1つを有し、所望の顔料粒度分布が得られるまで、上の混合物を粉砕することと;
(4)場合により、最終的な顔料分散物から粉砕媒体を分離することと;
(5)場合により、最終的な顔料分散物を希釈し、その後の使用にとって望ましい顔料粒子濃度を得ることとを含むプロセスによって調製される。
ダイヤモンドダストを粉砕媒体として用い、顔料分散物を作成した。ステンレスビーカーにダイヤモンドダスト(Lands Superabrasives−LS600T−粒径50μm、307g)を加えた。これに、Dispermat TML−1ミキサーで約2000rpmで混合しつつ、カーボンブラック(Cabot−Mogul E−100g、出発物質の平均粒径>1μm)、EFKA 4340分散剤(52.7g)(アクリルブロックコポリマー、BASFから得られた)、SR9003(280g)(プロポキシル化ネオペンチルグリコールジアクリレート、Sartomer Company Inc.によって製造)をあらかじめ混合した懸濁物100gをゆっくりと加えた。この混合物の粘度が高まってきたら、最終的に速度を6200rpmまで上げ、90分間維持した。速度を約2000rpmまで落とし、さらに38.6gのSR9003を加え、SR9003のカーボンブラックの最終的な固体保持量15.7%を得た。次いで、Whatman #4濾紙を用いて分散物を減圧濾過し、分散物からダイヤモンドダストを分離した。
Claims (10)
- 顔料分散物を調製するための方法であって、
顔料と、場合により担体と、分散剤とを含む出発物質である顔料分散物を、最終的な顔料分散物が、所望の顔料平均粒径の少なくとも1つを有し、所望の顔料粒度分布が得られるまで、平均粒径が約100μm以下の粉砕媒体で粉砕することと;
場合により、最終的な顔料分散物から粉砕媒体を分離することと;
場合により、最終的な顔料分散物を希釈し、所望の顔料粒子濃度を得ることとを含む、方法。 - 前記出発物質である顔料分散物が、平均粒径が約1μmより大きい顔料粒子を含み、前記最終的な顔料分散物が、平均粒径が約500nm未満の顔料粒子を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記粉砕媒体が、ダイヤモンドダスト、炭化ケイ素、炭化ホウ素、酸化鉄、コランダム、ガーネット、酸化アルミニウム、およびこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記粉砕媒体が、ダイヤモンドダストおよび酸化鉄からなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記粉砕媒体が、酸化ジルコニウム、酸化イットリウム、ステンレス球を実質的に含まない、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記粉砕媒体は、平均粒径が約15nm〜約75μmである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記粉砕媒体は、最終的な顔料分散物を希釈して所望の顔料粒子濃度を得る前または得た後に最終的な顔料分散物から除去される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 最終的な顔料分散物から粉砕媒体を分離することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 請求項1に記載のプロセスによって製造される顔料分散物。
- 顔料分散物を調製するための方法であって、
顔料と、場合により担体と、分散剤とを含む出発物質である顔料分散物を、最終的な顔料分散物が、所望の顔料平均粒径の少なくとも1つを有し、所望の顔料粒度分布が得られるまで、平均粒径が約100μm以下の粉砕媒体で粉砕することと;
最終的な顔料分散物から粉砕媒体を分離することとを含み、
出発物質である顔料分散物が、平均粒径が約1μmより大きい顔料粒子を含み、最終的な顔料分散物が、平均粒径が約500nm未満の顔料粒子を含む、方法。
