Abstract
【解決手段】インクジェットプリンタ内の画像形成ドラム12の表面に堆積した画像を分析する方法および装置において、画像形成ドラム12の表面14と接触している画像形成そり112によって支持された光電センサを用いて、印字ヘッド内の噴出不足を検出し、印字ヘッドを整列させ、除去されるインクの量を低減し、画像形成ドラム12を使い果たしたかどうかを判断する。

Claims (10)
- 第1端部と第2端部の間に配置された実質的に円柱形の外側表面を含む回転受像部材と、
前記受像部材に隣接して配置され、かつ前記受像部材の前記表面にインク画像を形成するように構成された印字ヘッドと、
前記回転受像部材の前記第1端部に配置され、かつ前記第1端部から前記第2端部へ移動して前記第1端部へ戻るように構成された移動可能部材と、
前記移動可能部材に動作可能に接続されたセンサであって、インク画像から反射された送信光を受信し、かつ前記反射された送信光を、前記反射された送信光を代表する第1信号に変換するように構成された光電センサとを含む、プリンタ。 - 前記移動可能部材が、前記第1端部から前記第2端部へ移動中に、前記回転受像部材の前記表面と接触している、請求項1に記載のプリンタ。
- 前記移動可能部材が、前記受像部材の前記表面から所定距離に前記光電センサを支持するように構成されたベース部を含む、請求項2に記載のプリンタ。
- 前記ベース部に動作可能に接続され、かつ前記受像部材の前記表面へ光を送信するように構成された照明デバイスをさらに含む、請求項3に記載のプリンタ。
- 前記光電センサに動作可能に接続され、かつ所定のしきい値を越える前記第1信号に応じて第2信号を発生させるように構成されたしきい値処理デバイスをさらに含む、請求項4に記載のプリンタ。
- 前記ベース部に動作可能に接続され、かつ前記照明デバイスに隣接して配置された反射器であって、前記光電センサへ反射するために前記受像部材の前記表面の方に前記送信光を向けるように構成されたレンズ反射器をさらに含む、請求項5に記載のプリンタ。
- 前記ベース部が、第1部分と第2部分の間に配置されたチャンネルを画定し、前記第1部分および前記第2部分は、前記受像部材の前記表面と接触しているように構成され、前記チャンネルは、インク画像と非接触関係で間隔を空けて配置されるための十分な深さを含むように構成された、請求項6に記載のプリンタ。
- 前記第1部分および前記第2部分が、前記受像部材の湾曲面と界面を形成するように構成された表面を含む、請求項7に記載のプリンタ。
- 前記第1部分および前記第2部分が、それぞれ第1滑走部および第2滑走部を含む、請求項8に記載のプリンタ。
- モータ、滑車およびラインをさらに含み、前記ラインが、前記滑車および前記移動可能部材に動作可能に接続され、前記モータが、前記ラインに動作可能に接続され、前記モータは、前記ラインの位置を調整して、前記移動可能部材を前記受像部材の前記表面を横切って移動させるように構成された、請求項1に記載のプリンタ。
