Description
上述のように、インクチャンバのノズルに対するインクチャンバの流入口の相対的なサイズ(すなわち、インピーダンス整合)は、インクジェットプリントヘッドのインク滴噴出性能における重要なファクタである。インク流入口とノズルとの間のインピーダンス整合が乏しいと、ノズル窮乏又は(特に高い噴出又は噴射周波数で)インク滴速度及びインク滴体積の過度の振動によってプリント品質が低下することになり得る。
例示的な実施形態
図1は、本書で開示する流体噴出装置を組み込むのに適したインクジェットプリンティングシステム100の一実施形態を示している。この実施形態では、流体噴出装置は、液滴噴射プリントヘッド114として開示されている。インクジェットプリンティングシステム100は、インクジェットプリントヘッドアセンブリ102、インク供給アセンブリ104、マウントアセンブリ106、媒体搬送アセンブリ108、電子コントローラ110、及び該インクジェットプリンティングシステム100の様々な電気部品に電力を供給する少なくとも1つの電源112を含む。インクジェットプリントヘッドアセンブリ102は、プリント媒体118上にプリントするために該プリント媒体118に向かって複数のオリフィス又はノズル116を介してインク滴を噴出する少なくとも1つのプリントヘッド(流体噴出装置)又はプリントヘッドダイ114を含む。プリント媒体118は、紙、カードストック、透明フィルム、マイラー(登録商標)といったあらゆるタイプの適当なシート材料である。典型的には、ノズル116は、インクジェットプリントヘッドアセンブリ102及びプリント媒体118が互いに相対的に移動する際にノズル116からのインクの正しく順序づけされた噴出によって文字、記号、及び/又はその他のグラフィクス又はイメージがプリント媒体118上にプリントされるように、1つ又は2つ以上の列又は配列で構成される。
Claims (15)
- チャンバと、
少なくとも1つの流体供給チャネルと、
前記流体供給チャネルと前記チャンバとの間に配設された3つ以上の流体流入口と
を備えている、流体噴出装置。 - 前記流体流入口が、円筒形状、円錐形状、及びベル形状からなる1グループから選択された形状を有する、請求項1に記載の流体噴出装置。
- 前記流体流入口が、第1の端部における幅の広い開口から第2の端部における幅の狭い開口へと先細になるテーパーのついた形状を有する、請求項1に記載の流体噴出装置。
- 前記幅の広い開口が前記流体供給チャネルに対して開口し、及び前記幅の狭い開口が前記チャンバに対して開口している、請求項3に記載の流体噴出装置。
- 前記幅の広い開口が前記チャンバに対して開口し、及び前記幅の狭い開口が前記流体供給チャネルに対して開口している、請求項3に記載の流体噴出装置。
- 第1の個数の流体流入口が第1の流体供給チャネルと前記チャンバとの間に配設され、第2の個数の流体流入口が第2の流体供給チャネルと前記チャンバとの間に配設されている、請求項1に記載の流体噴出装置。
- 前記複数の流体流入口が異なる構造的特徴を有しており、該構造的特徴が、形状、大きさ、向き、及び位置からなる1グループから選択されたものである、請求項1に記載の流体噴出装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つの流体供給チャネルに沿って配設された複数のチャンバを備えており、第1のチャンバ内の流体流入口の形状、大きさ、向き、及び相対的な位置が、第2のチャンバ内の流体流入口の形状、大きさ、向き、及び相対的な位置と異なる、請求項1に記載の流体噴出装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つの流体供給チャネルに沿って配設された複数のチャンバを備えており、第1のチャンバ内の流体流入口に関する半径が、第2のチャンバ内の流体流入口に関する半径と異なる、請求項1に記載の流体噴出装置。
- 前記チャンバの上側に配設されたノズルと、
前記チャンバの下側に配設された噴出素子であって、圧電式噴出素子及び熱抵抗式噴出素子からなる1グループから選択された、噴出素子と
を更に備えており、
前記流体流入口が前記チャンバの前記上側に配設されている、
請求項1に記載の流体噴出装置。 - 基板上に噴出素子を形成し、
該噴出素子を包囲するチャンバを形成し、該チャンバがチャンバ層により画定されるものであり、
少なくとも1つのチャネルを形成し、
1つのチャネルと前記チャンバとの間に延びる少なくとも3つの流体流入口を形成する、
という各ステップを含む、インクジェットプリントヘッドの作製方法。 - 前記流体流入口を形成する前記ステップが、異なる形状、大きさ、及び向きの流体流入口を形成するステップからなる、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記流体流入口を形成する前記ステップが、第1のチャネルと前記チャンバとの間に第1の複数の流体流入口を形成し、及び第2のチャネルと前記チャンバとの間に第2の複数の流体流入口を形成する、という各ステップからなる、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 流体噴出装置と、
該流体噴出装置内の複数の流体供給チャネルに沿って配設されたチャンバであって、該チャンバの第1の側部に沿って第1の流体供給チャネルが配設され、及び該チャンバの第2の側部に沿って第2の流体供給チャネルが配設されている、チャンバと、
該チャンバ内の複数の流体流入口であって、該チャンバと前記第1の流体供給チャネルとの間に第1の複数の流体流入口が配設され、及び該チャンバと前記第2の流体供給チャネルとの間に第2の複数の流体流入口が配設されている、複数の流体流入口と
とを備えている、インクジェットプリンティングシステム。 - 前記複数の流体供給チャネルに沿って配設された複数のチャンバを含み、第1のチャンバが、第2のチャンバの流体流入口とは異なる形状の流体流入口を有する、請求項14に記載のインクジェットプリンティングシステム。
