BMIHPFおよびTBAHPFを使用して得られた結果を示すために、前述の第2010/0289736号に説明される種類の一連の電気泳動媒体を調製した。各内部相は、0.03重量%のTriton界面活性剤を含有していた(但し、0.05重量%の界面活性剤を必要とした、350ppmのTBAHPFを含有する媒体は除く)。バインダは、(a)無塩添加剤(対照)、(b)350ppmのTBAHPFと等価な分子量のBMIHPF、(c)250ppm、および(d)350ppmのTBAHPFでドープした。TBAHPFは、NMP溶液として添加した一方、単一画素の実験用ディスプレイを媒体から調製し、標準的試験プロトコルを使用して、WSD、白色および黒色エッジ、ならびに焦点ぼけを試験した。結果を以下の表1に示す。

Claims (20)
- 連続相および断続相を備えている電気泳動媒体であって、
前記断続相は、複数の液滴を備え、前記複数の液滴の各々は、流体と前記流体内に配置されている少なくとも1つの帯電粒子とを備え、前記少なくとも1つの帯電粒子は、前記電気泳動媒体に対する電場の印加に応じて前記流体を通して移動可能であり、
前記連続相は、前記断続相を包囲してカプセル化し、かつ、高分子バインダおよび塩を備え、
前記塩は、少なくとも1つのフッ素原子を含有するアニオンを有し、かつ、25℃で少なくとも約0.25重量%の水溶性を有している、
