Description
Claims (36)
- セルロース、ヘミセルロース、およびリグニン分画を含むリグノセルロースバイオマスの処理方法であって、
前記バイオマスに、少なくとも50重量パーセントの1種以上の有機酸を含有する高濃度の有機酸の蒸気を適用して、前記バイオマス中の前記ヘミセルロースおよびリグニン物質を少なくとも部分的に解重合する工程;
前記弱酸処理したバイオマスを乾燥させて、ペレット化するのに十分な固体含有量の物質を提供する工程;および
前記乾燥工程からの前記物質をペレット化する工程
を含む方法。 - 前記ペレット化した物質を反芻動物の飼料に使用する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記セルロース質固体生成物を、前記ペレット化した物質から、前記ペレット化した物質の溶剤洗浄を濾過と共に1回以上繰り返すことにより回収し、それにより、前記ペレット化した物質からの前記少なくとも部分的に解重合したヘミセルロースおよびリグニン物質を、残留する前記セルロース質固体から共に分離する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも部分的に解重合したヘミセルロースおよびリグニン物質の洗浄を濾過と共に1回以上繰り返して、水不溶性リグニン固体を水溶性ヘミセルロース物質から分離する工程をさらに含む、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも部分的に解重合したヘミセルロース物質を、前記ペレット化した物質から、前記ペレット化した物質の水による洗浄を濾過と共に1回以上繰り返すことにより分離し、その後、前記リグニンを、前記セルロース固体生成物から、異なる溶媒洗浄を濾過と共にまた1回以上繰り返すことにより分離する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも部分的に解重合したヘミセルロース物質に対し、これを前記リグニンおよびセルロース固体生成物から分離した後に、さらなる酸加水分解工程を含む、請求項4または5に記載の方法。
- 前記ヘミセルロース物質の前記さらなる酸加水分解の生成物を発酵させて、エタノール、リシン、トレオニン、乳酸、グルコン酸、またはその他の有機酸を製造する工程、または、前記さらなる酸加水分解工程の生成物を水素化および水素化処理して、輸送燃料用の燃料添加剤製品を得る工程をさらに含む、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記水不溶性のリグニンを、オゾン分解、もしくは1種以上の他の酸化剤に暴露する、または燃料として燃焼させる、または液体炭化水素製品およびコークを製造するためのコーキングプロセスに供給する、または合成ガスを製造するためのガス化装置に送入する、請求項4または5に記載の方法。
- 前記セルロース質固体を強酸性の鉱酸に接触させて、それを加水分解し、ヘキソース生成物またはストリームを提供し、かつ前記ヘキソース生成物またはストリームを醗酵させて、エタノール、リシン、トレオニン、乳酸、グルコン酸、またはその他の有機酸を製造する、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記リグノセルロースバイオマスが、乾燥重量基準で6重量パーセント以上の酸性デタージェントに不溶なリグニンの含有量を有することを特徴とする、請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記リグノセルロースバイオマスが、成長した草、穀物サイレージから分離したまたは穀物サイレージに含まれる穀物残渣、トウモロコシの茎葉、小麦の藁、大麦の藁、ススキ種、スイッチグラス、バヒアグラス、ソルガム種、サトウキビの絞り粕、カモガヤ、クサヨシ、綿繰り機の屑の1種以上を含む、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 処理された前記リグノセルロースバイオマスが、トウモロコシの茎葉およびトウモロコシの繊維を含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 処理された前記リグノセルロースバイオマスが、サイロに貯蔵された植物全体としてのトウモロコシであり、かつ前記濃有機酸蒸気を適用する前に、前記サイロに貯蔵された植物全体としてのトウモロコシの少なくとも1成分を分離し除去するために前記バイオマスを前処理する、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記サイロに貯蔵された植物全体としてのトウモロコシバイオマスを前記濃有機酸蒸気と接触させる前に、前記トウモロコシバイオマスからコーン油を回収する、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記サイロに貯蔵された植物全体としてのトウモロコシバイオマスを前記濃有機酸蒸気と接触させる前に、前記トウモロコシバイオマスから前記トウモロコシ茎葉の葉分画を機械的に分離し、除去する、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記サイロに貯蔵された植物全体としてのトウモロコシバイオマスを前記濃有機酸蒸気と接触させる前に、前記トウモロコシバイオマスから硫黄、窒素、または灰分含有量が高い1種以上の成分を機械的に分離し、除去する、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記濃有機酸蒸気を、摂氏50度以上の高温で前記バイオマスに適用する、請求項1〜16のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記バイオマスに適用した前記1種以上の有機酸が、酢酸、プロピオン酸、リンゴ酸、コハク酸、ギ酸、および乳酸の1種以上からなり、かつ前記濃酸蒸気を摂氏50度〜摂氏160度の温度、大気圧〜3.5MPaゲージ圧の圧力で、かつ30分以上の時間、適用する、請求項17に記載の方法。
- 50重量パーセント以上のギ酸もしくは酢酸またはギ酸と酢酸との組み合わせを含み、残部が水である濃有機酸蒸気を前記バイオマスに適用する、請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記濃有機酸蒸気が、70重量パーセント以上の前記1種以上の酸を含み、残部が水である、請求項18または19に記載の方法。
- 前記有機酸処理したバイオマスを10重量パーセント以下の水分含有量にまで乾燥させる、請求項1〜20のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記乾燥させたバイオマスをさらなるバインダーを加えずにペレット化する、請求項20に記載の方法。
- 共通の第2の場所へペレット化した物質を搬送するために、前記有機酸蒸気の浸漬、乾燥、およびペレット化工程を複数の場所で適用する、請求項1〜22のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記複数のサイトが、前記共通の第2の場所から平均して50キロメートル以上の距離にある、請求項23に記載の方法。
- 前記複数のサイトが、前記共通の第2の場所から平均して80キロメートル以上の距離にある、請求項24に記載の方法。
- 前記第2の場所から少なくとも50キロメートルの場所で、前記有機酸蒸気の浸漬、乾燥およびペレット化工程を適用し、ペレット化物質を製造する、請求項22に記載の方法。
- 前記有機酸蒸気と接触させる前に、タンパク質に富みかつ動物用飼料中もしくは動物用飼料用としての使用に適しているか、あるいは硫黄、窒素、または灰分の含有量が所望の値より大きい、前記バイオマスの少なくとも1つの成分を分離し除去するために、前記バイオマスを前処理する工程をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- セルロース、ヘミセルロース、およびリグニンの分画を含むリグノセルロースバイオマスの処理方法であって、
酢酸、プロピオン酸、リンゴ酸、コハク酸、ギ酸、および乳酸から選択される1種以上の有機酸の濃有機酸蒸気を、前記バイオマス中のヘミセルロースおよびリグニン物質を実質的に可溶化させるのに十分な条件下で、前記バイオマスに適用する工程;
前記処理したバイオマスの溶媒または溶媒混合物による洗浄および濾過を1回以上繰り返して、前記濾液中のヘミセルロースおよびリグニン物質と、固体残渣のセルロース物質とを分離する工程;
前記固体残渣を乾燥させて、ペレット化するのに十分な固体含有量の物質を提供する工程;および
前記乾燥工程からの前記物質をペレット化する工程
を含む方法。 - 前記濾液中のヘミセルロースおよびリグニン物質の水による洗浄を追加の濾過と共に1回以上繰り返して、水溶性ヘミセルロース物質から水不溶性リグニン固体を分離する工程をさらに含む、請求項28に記載の方法。
- 摂氏50度〜摂氏160度の温度、大気圧〜3.5MPaゲージ圧の圧力で、30分以上の時間、濃ギ酸、濃酢酸、または濃ギ酸/濃酢酸の蒸気を前記バイオマスに適用する、請求項28に記載の方法。
- 前記蒸気は、70重量パーセント以上が前記有機酸であって、残部が水である、請求項30に記載の方法。
- 前記蒸気は、重量で90重量パーセント以上が前記有機酸であって、残部が水である、請求項31に記載の方法。
- 前記固体残渣を乾燥させる際に蒸発した物質を収集し、そのような物質に含有される前記有機酸と水とを予め分離することなく、前記有機酸蒸気の浸漬工程で再利用する、請求項28〜32のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記濃有機酸蒸気と接触させる前に、タンパク質に富み、かつ動物用飼料中もしくは動物用飼料用としての使用に適する、あるいは硫黄、窒素、または灰分の含有量が所望の値より大きい、前記バイオマスの少なくとも1つの成分を分離し除去するために前記バイオマスを前処理する工程をさらに含む、請求項28〜33のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 実質的に可溶化されたヘミセルロースおよびリグニンを含有する前記濾液を乾燥させて、ペレット化するのに十分な固体含有量の物質を提供する工程、および得られた物質をペレット化する工程をさらに含む、請求項28に記載の方法。
- 前記リグノセルロースバイオマスが、6重量パーセント以上の酸性デタージェントに不溶なリグニンの含有量を有すること特徴とする、請求項28〜35のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
