Abstract
【解決手段】液晶パネルと、前記液晶パネルに付着される偏光板と、拡散板24を備えるバックライトユニットとを含む液晶表示装置において、前記偏光板の砂時計現象発生地域A、B、C、Dに対面する前記拡散板24の所定領域は、前記所定領域以外の領域より少ない透過光量を有して形成されることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。

Claims (10)
- 液晶パネルと、前記液晶パネルに付着される偏光板と、拡散板を備えるバックライトユニットと、を含む液晶表示装置において、
前記偏光板の砂時計現象発生地域に対面する前記拡散板の所定領域は、前記所定領域以外の領域より少ない透過光量を有して形成されることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記拡散板の所定領域は、
前記拡散板の左右中心から左右側面方向に75〜100%に該当する領域である第1領域と、前記拡散板の上下中心から上下側面方向に50〜100%に該当する領域である第2領域と、を含み、前記第1領域と前記第2領域との重複領域は含まないことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 液晶パネルと、前記液晶パネルに付着される偏光板と、拡散板を備えるバックライトユニットと、を含む液晶表示装置において、
前記偏光板の砂時計現象発生地域に対面する前記拡散板の所定領域は、前記所定領域以外の領域より低い光透過率を有して形成されることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記拡散板の所定領域の光透過率は、前記所定領域以外の領域の光透過率より約10〜20%低いことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記拡散板の所定領域は、
前記拡散板の左右中心から左右側面方向に75〜100%に該当する領域である第1領域と、前記拡散板の上下中心から上下側面方向に50〜100%に該当する領域である第2領域と、を含み、前記第1領域と前記第2領域との重複領域は含まないことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 液晶パネルと、前記液晶パネルに付着される偏光板と、前記偏光板が付着された前記液晶パネルの後方に位置し、複数のLEDからなるLEDランプを使用するバックライトユニットと、を含む液晶表示装置において、
砂時計現象を感知するように前記偏光板の表面に設置される温度センサーと;
前記温度センサーと信号交換可能に連結され、前記温度センサーから砂時計現象感知信号を受信すると、前記LEDランプの所定領域の輝度を調節するランプ駆動制御部と;を含むことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記ランプ駆動制御部は、砂時計現象感知信号が受信されたとき、前記LEDランプの所定領域の輝度を、砂時計現象感知信号が受信されないときより約15〜20%低く調節することを特徴とする請求項6に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記温度センサーは、
前記偏光板の砂時計現象が発生する領域の表面に設置されることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記ランプ駆動制御部が輝度を調節する前記LEDランプの所定領域は、
前記偏光板の砂時計現象が発生する領域に対面する領域であることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記ランプ駆動制御部が輝度を調節する前記LEDランプの所定領域は、
前記LEDランプの左右中心線から左右側面方向に75〜100%に該当するLED領域である第1領域と、前記LEDランプの上下中心線から上下側面方向に50〜100%に該当するLED領域である第2領域と、を含み、前記第1領域と前記第2領域との重複領域は含まないことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の液晶表示装置。
