Claims (13)

  1. 長い本体部を有する神経組織を刺激するリードであって、
    長い本体部は、その上に配設された少なくとも1つの第1の電極と、少なくとも1つの第1の電極から長手方向の距離を隔てて長手方向に配列された少なくとも1つの第2の電極とを有し、
    長手方向の距離により、少なくとも1つの第1の電極が、選択的刺激を与えるために、後根神経節の上、近傍、または周囲に配置され、少なくとも1つの第2の電極が、前記後根神経節に付随する脊髄神経根の外側に配置されることを特徴とするリード。
  2. 請求項1に記載のリードであって、
    長手方向の距離により、少なくとも1つの第1の電極が、選択的刺激を与えるために、後根神経節の上、近傍、または周囲に配置され、少なくとも1つの第2の電極が、前記後根神経節に付随する後根および前根の合流点を超えて末梢神経に沿って配置されることを特徴とするリード。
  3. 請求項1に記載のリードであって、
    長手方向の距離により、少なくとも1つの第1の電極が、選択的刺激を与えるために、後根神経節の上、近傍、または周囲に配置され、少なくとも1つの第2の電極が、脊髄に沿って配置されることを特徴とするリード。
  4. 請求項1〜3のいずれか1に記載のリードであって、
    少なくとも1つの第1の電極は、複数の第1の電極を含み、
    リードは、後根神経節に対し選択的に刺激を与えることにより、最も良好な効果が得られるように選択された複数の第1の電極に刺激エネルギを与えるように、移植可能なパルス発生器に接続可能であることを特徴とするリード。
  5. 請求項1〜4のいずれか1に記載のリードであって、
    長手方向の距離は、異なる電極に刺激エネルギを与えることにより調整可能であることを特徴とするリード。
  6. 請求項1〜4のいずれか1に記載のリードであって、
    長手方向の距離は、少なくとも幾つかの電極を互いに対して物理的に移動させることにより調整可能であることを特徴とするリード。
  7. 請求項1〜6のいずれか1に記載のリードであって、
    前記電極は、個別に刺激エネルギを与えることができることを特徴とするリード。
  8. 請求項1〜7のいずれか1に記載のリードであって、
    長い本体部は、硬膜上腔を貫通して移動できるように構成されていることを特徴とするリード。
  9. 請求項1〜8のいずれか1に記載のリードであって、
    長い本体部は、後根神経節に向かって水平方向に移動できるように構成されていることを特徴とするリード。
  10. 請求項1〜8のいずれか1に記載のリードであって、
    長い本体部は、孔を貫通して移動できるように構成されていることを特徴とするリード。
  11. 請求項1に記載のリードであって、
    長手方向の距離により、少なくとも1つの第1の電極が、選択的刺激を与えるために、後根神経節の上、近傍、または周囲に配置され、少なくとも1つの第2の電極が、別の後根神経節の上、近傍、または周囲に配置されることを特徴とするリード。
  12. 請求項1に記載のリードであって、
    長い本体部は、その上に配設された少なくとも1つの第1の電極を有する長い管状本体部と、少なくとも1つの第2の電極が設けられた内側構造体とを有し、
    内側構造体は、少なくとも1つの第1の電極と少なくとも1つの第2の電極の間の長手方向の距離を調整するために、長い管状本体部内を移動することができることを特徴とするリード。
  13. 請求項1に記載のリードであって、
    長い本体部は、その上に配設された少なくとも1つの第2の電極を有する長い管状本体部と、少なくとも1つの第1の電極が設けられた内側構造体とを有し、
    内側構造体は、少なくとも1つの第1の電極と少なくとも1つの第2の電極の間の長手方向の距離を調整するために、長い管状本体部内を移動することができることを特徴とするリード。
