Claims (13)

  1. 体内の後根神経節を刺激するシステムであって、
    表面上に複数の電極(210)を有する長い本体部(201)を有するリード(200)であって、前記複数の電極が後根神経節から所定距離の範囲内に配置されるように構成されたリード(200)と、
    リード(200)に接続可能であり、後根神経節に対し選択的に刺激を与えることにより、最も良好な効果が得られるように選択された複数の電極に刺激エネルギを与えるための移植可能なパルス発生器(202)とを備えたことを特徴とするシステム。
  2. 請求項1に記載のシステムであって、
    複数の電極(210)には個別にエネルギを供給することができることを特徴とするシステム。
  3. 請求項1または2に記載のシステムであって、
    後根神経節への選択的刺激による最も良好な効果が得られない1つまたはそれ以上の電極には刺激エネルギを与えないことを特徴とするシステム。
  4. 請求項1または2に記載のシステムであって、
    後根神経節への選択的刺激による最も良好な効果が得られない1つまたはそれ以上の電極には、後根神経節への選択的刺激による最も良好な効果が得られる電極より小さい刺激エネルギを与えることを特徴とするシステム。
  5. 請求項1〜4のいずれか1に記載のシステムであって、
    リード(200)は、体内の硬膜上腔を貫通して移動できるような寸法を有することを特徴とするシステム。
  6. 請求項1〜4のいずれか1に記載のシステムであって、
    リード(200)は、後根神経節に向かって水平方向に移動できるような寸法を有することを特徴とするシステム。
  7. 請求項1〜4のいずれか1に記載のシステムであって、
    リード(200)は、孔を貫通して移動するような寸法を有することを特徴とするシステム。
  8. 請求項1〜7のいずれか1に記載のシステムであって、
    リード(200)は、伸縮自在のリードであることを特徴とするシステム。
  9. 請求項8に記載のシステムであって、
    伸縮自在のリードは、長い管状本体部(220a)と、内側構造体(220c)とを有し、
    管状本体部(220a)は、近位端、遠位端、これらの間のルーメン、および表面上に配置された少なくとも1つの電極を有し、
    内側構造体(220c)は、近位端、遠位端、および表面上に配置された少なくとも1つの電極を有し、内側構造体の遠位端が管状本体部の遠位端を越えて延びるように、管状本体部のルーメンを貫通して移動することを特徴とするシステム。
  10. 請求項9に記載のシステムであって、
    内側構造体(220c)は、伸張または収縮可能であり、内側構造体の上に配置された電極と管状本体部(220a)の上に配置された電極との間の距離を調節することができることを特徴とするシステム。
  11. 請求項10に記載のシステムであって、
    管状本体部(220a)上の少なくとも1つの電極が後根神経節の第1部分に位置合わせされ、内側構造体(220c)上の少なくとも1つの電極が後根神経節の第2部分に位置合わせされるように、内側構造体の上に配置された電極と管状本体部の上に配置された電極との間の距離を調節することができることを特徴とするシステム。
  12. 請求項9〜11のいずれか1に記載のシステムであって、
    内側構造体が管状本体部のルーメン内で回転するのを防止するような形状を有するか、あるいは管状本体部が内側構造体の周囲で回転するのを防止するような形状を有することを特徴とするシステム。
  13. 請求項1〜12のいずれか1に記載のシステムであって、
    リードは、複数の電極を後根神経節に隣接または位置合わせして配置するように構成されていることを特徴とするシステム。
