Abstract
【解決手段】予め定めたリフレッシュ間隔で基板に付着した着色粒子が移動しない大きさの電圧で、かつ少なくとも1種類の着色粒子(複数種類の着色粒子のうち電界に応じて移動するために必要な閾値電圧が低い着色粒子)が付着した基板側へ力が作用する極性の電圧(粒子付着電界)を印加するように、制御部が電圧印加部を制御する。

Claims (5)
- 少なくとも一方が透光性を有する一対の基板間に封入され、種類毎に電界に応じて移動するために必要な閾値電圧がそれぞれ異なると共に、互いに異なる色に着色された複数種類の着色粒子を含み、画像情報に基づいて画像を表示する画像表示媒体の前記一対の基板間に電圧を印加する電圧印加手段と、
最後に表示した画像情報に基づいて前記着色粒子が前記一対の基板のうちどの基板に存在するかを種類毎に識別し、前記着色粒子が前記一対の基板の双方に存在する場合に、一方の基板に存在する着色粒子の種類のどの閾値電圧よりも小さくかつ他方の基板側へ力が作用する向きの電圧を印加するように、前記電圧印加手段を制御する制御手段と、
を備えた画像表示媒体駆動装置。 - 前記制御手段は、前記着色粒子が前記一対の基板のうち一方の基板だけに存在する場合に、該基板側へ力が作用する向きの電圧を印加するように、前記電圧印加手段を制御する請求項1に記載の画像表示媒体駆動装置。
- 前記制御手段は、前記一対の基板のうち一方の基板に存在する着色粒子のどの閾値電圧よりも小さく且つ他方の基板側へ力が作用する向きの電圧と、前記他方の基板に存在する着色粒子のどの閾値電圧よりも小さく且つ前記一方の基板側へ力が作用する向きの電圧とを印加するように、前記電圧印加手段を制御する請求項1に記載の画像表示媒体駆動装置。
- 少なくとも一方が透光性を有する一対の基板間に封入され、電界に応じて移動するために必要な閾値電圧がそれぞれ異なると共に、互いに異なる色に着色された複数種類の着色粒子を含む画像表示媒体と、
請求項1〜3の何れか1項に記載の画像表示媒体駆動装置と、
を備えた画像表示装置。 - コンピュータを、請求項1〜3の何れか1項に記載の画像表示媒体駆動装置の前記制御手段として機能させるための画像表示媒体駆動プログラム。
