Abstract
【解決手段】第1回目のトリクル充電では、不活性電池を活性化させつつ充電するために必要な電流値の充電電流で充電を行い、第2回目以降のトリクル充電では、(第1回目のトリクル充電における充電電流の値よりも低い)電池の自然放電を補うために必要な電流値の充電電流で充電を行うようにした。従って、第1回目のトリクル充電では、不活性電池を活性化させつつ充電することができる。また、第2回目以降のトリクル充電では、電池の自然放電を補うために必要な電流値の充電電流で充電を行うようにしたことにより、従来のように不活性電池を活性化させつつ充電するために必要な、一定の電流値でトリクル充電を継続した場合と比べて、充電に必要な消費電力を抑えることが可能になる。

Claims (3)
- 充電可能な二次電池と、
前記二次電池と電源との間に設けられたスイッチング素子と、
時間を計測する時間計測手段を有し、この時間計測手段から出力された時間に基づいて、前記スイッチング素子のオンの時間とオフの時間との比率であるデューティ比を制御することにより、前記二次電池に充電する充電電流の値を制御する制御手段とを備えた充電式電気機器において、
前記二次電池への充電は、急速充電と、この急速充電の終了後の前記二次電池を、前記急速充電時の充電電流よりも小さな値の電流で充電するためのトリクル充電とを含み、
前記制御手段は、前記急速充電の終了後の第1回目のトリクル充電における充電電流の値と、第2回目以降のトリクル充電における充電電流の値とを異ならせることを特徴とする充電式電気機器。 - 前記制御手段は、前記急速充電と前記第1回目のトリクル充電との間、又は/及び前記第1回目以降の各トリクル充電の間に、充電の休止時間を挿入するようにしたことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の充電式電気機器。
- 前記制御手段は、前記第2回目以降のトリクル充電における充電電流の値を、前記第1回目のトリクル充電における充電電流の値よりも低い値にすることを特徴とする請求項1又は請求項2に記載の充電式電気機器。
