Claims (53)
- 椎体間空間に挿入し、前記椎体間空間を画定する対向する椎骨面に係合する上面及び下面を含む本体であって、少なくとも2層を含み、前記層が前記本体の幅に沿って延在し、相対的に完全に拡張した、及び完全に圧潰した高さを有する、前記本体と、
前記層の高さを、前記完全に拡張した高さと完全に圧潰した高さとの間で、選択的及び可逆的に拡張及び圧潰して、前記椎体間空間の選択した高さを回復する可逆的拡張手段と、
を備えること、を特徴とする椎体間高さ回復装置。 - 前記本体は前記層を画定する室を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記本体は前記室を画定する螺旋状に渦巻く内面を含むことを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 流体を前記内室に選択的及び可逆的に供給して、前記本体を拡張又は圧潰する流体導入手段を含む、請求項3に記載の装置。
- 前記導入手段は前記内室と流体連通状態の供給管を含むことを特徴とする、請求項4に記載の装置。
- 前記本体は、その中に硬化性流体を受容する開口空間を画定する内壁を含むことを特徴とする、請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記硬化性流体を前記開口空間に送給する前記開口空間と流体連通状態の第2流体導入口を含む、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記第1及び第2流体導入口を含んで、前記内室と前記開口空間の両方を充填する単一の管組立体を提供する二重充填手段を含む、請求項7に記載の装置。
- 前記二重充填手段は、前記内室と流体連通状態にある前記最初に述べた管の内側に成形した前記開口空間と流体連通状態にある第2の管を含むことを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の装置。
- 前記本体は前記層間で流体を流動可能にするマニホルド手段を更に含むことを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の装置。
- 前記マニホルド手段は、前記流体導入手段と前記本体との間の連結部を補強する、前記層を通り延在する補強材のウェブを含むことを特徴とする、請求項10に記載の装置。
- 前記開口空間は中空コア周りで本体を画定する前記上下面に開口することを特徴とする、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記本体には端部キャップを含み、前記中空コアに注入した硬化性物質を前記端部キャップで収容するよう、前記上下面付近で前記中空コアを覆い密封することを特徴とする、請求項12に記載の装置。
- 前記端部キャップを多孔質として、前記中空コアに注入した硬化性物質を、前記中空コアから隣接する椎骨面に選択的に漏出可能にすることを特徴とする、請求項13に記載の装置。
- 脊柱に対して適切な前弯を回復する前弯回復手段を含む、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記上下面の片方に隣接する前記層を、前記前弯回復手段を画定する前記残りの層に対して傾斜させることを特徴とする、請求項15に記載の装置。
- 前記上下面の両方を、前記前弯回復手段を画定する前記残りの層に対して傾斜させることを特徴とする、請求項15に記載の装置。
- 前記本体は多孔質の上下面を含み、前記上下面により、前記内室に硬化性流体を収容する一方で、前記上下面を通して硬化性流体を前記対向する椎骨面に漏出可能にすることを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記本体は単一の管部材を含み、前記管部材を前記層を画定する螺旋状の渦巻きとすることを特徴とする、請求項3に記載の装置。
- 少なくとも上下層を含み、前記層夫々には上下面を含み、前記上下面を、隣接する上下面に動作可能に連結する、請求項19に記載の装置。
- 前記本体は、前記少なくとも2層を画定する複数の積み重ねた個別の室を含むことを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 各前記室に動作可能に連結して、各前記室を互いに独立させて選択的に拡張及び/又は圧潰する導入手段を含む、請求項21に記載の装置。
- 前記導入手段は前記内室と流体連通状態にした供給管を含むことを特徴とする、請求項22に記載の装置。
- 前記本体は、その中に硬化性流体を受容する開口空間を画定する内壁を含むことを特徴とする、請求項23に記載の装置。
- 前記硬化性流体を前記開口空間に送給する前記開口空間と流体連通状態の第2流体導入口を含む、請求項24に記載の装置。
- 前記第1及び第2流体導入口を含んで、前記内室と前記開口空間の両方を充填する単一の管組立体を提供する二重充填手段を含む、請求項25に記載の装置。
- 前記二重充填手段は、前記内室と流体連通状態にある前記最初に述べた管の内側に成形した前記開口空間と流体連通状態にある第2の管を含むことを特徴とする、請求項26に記載の装置。

- 幅及び高さを画定する本体であって、前記本体の幅に沿って延在する少なくとも2層を画定する内側部分を含む本体と、
前記層の前記高さを選択的及び可逆的に拡張する拡張手段と、
を備えることを特徴とする、椎体間高さ回復装置。 - 本体と、
前記本体を選択的及び可逆的に拡張及び圧潰する可逆的拡張手段と、
その中に硬化性流体を収容する、前記本体内の収容手段と、
を備えることを特徴とする、椎体間高さ回復装置。 - 本体と、
その中に硬化性流体を収容する、前記本体内の収容手段と、
選択した流体量の前記硬化性物質を前記収容手段から、前記本体の少なくとも1面を通して流出可能にして、前記1面と隣接する椎骨面と接触させる、多孔質面手段と、
を備えることを特徴とする、椎体間高さ回復装置。 - 圧潰した椎体間空間に対する高さを、
対向する椎骨面間で画定する前記椎体間空間に本体を挿入し、
前記本体の層を選択的及び可逆的に拡張して、前記本体の上下面を、前記対向する椎骨面に接触させ、前記椎骨面を分離させて、前記椎体間空間を拡張すること、
によって回復する方法。 - 前記拡張ステップを、前記本体の前記層を拡張させるために、流体を流体導入口を通して前記本体の内室に供給することと更に規定することを特徴とする、請求項36に記載の方法。
- 前記供給ステップを、流体を同時に前記本体の全層に単一の流体導入口から送給することと更に規定することを特徴とする、請求項37に記載の方法。
- 前記本体の中空の中心コア周りに、前記本体の前記層を拡張させ、その後硬化性流体を前記中空の中心コアに送給するステップを更に含む、請求項37に記載の方法。
- 前記送給した硬化性流体を硬化させた後に、前記本体を圧潰し、その後前記椎体間空間から前記本体を除去する更なるステップを含む、請求項39に記載の方法。

- 前記回復ステップを、前記本体の傾斜させた最上層及び/又は最下層を拡張して、傾斜圧力を前記隣接する椎骨面に印加することと更に規定することを特徴とする、請求項43に記載の方法。
- 圧潰した椎体間空間に対する高さを、
前記椎体間空間内に配置した本体を拡張して、前記空間を画定する対向する椎骨面間を分離させ、
前記拡張した本体に骨セメントを注入し、
前記本体内に前記骨セメントを収容すること、
によって回復する方法。 - 圧潰した椎体間空間に対する高さを、
硬化性物質を本体の層に注入し、
前記本体の高さを前記硬化性物質を用いて拡張して、前記椎体間空間を画定する隣接する椎骨面を分離させ、
前記硬化性物質を硬化させて、前記椎骨面を一定に離間させること、
によって回復する方法。 - 圧潰した椎体間空間に対する高さを、
前記椎体間空間内で、硬化性流体を収容した本体を拡張させて、前記椎体間空間を画定する対向する椎骨面を分離させ、
前記硬化性流体を、前記本体の透過性上下面を通して、前記硬化性流体を選択的に漏出させて、前記硬化性流体を前記隣接する椎骨面の選択部分と接触させること、
によって回復する方法。 - 圧潰した椎体間空間に対する高さを、
指向させた圧潰した本体を収容したカニューレを、前記椎体間空間に挿入し、
前記指向させた圧潰した本体を、前記カニューレから押出して、前記椎体間空間に、前記本体の層の前記上下面を前記椎体間空間を画定する対向する椎骨面に面するよう指向させて、入れ、
前記本体の前記層を拡張して、前記上下面を前記開いた椎骨面と係合させて、前記椎体間空間の高さを拡張すること、
によって回復する方法。 - 拡張可能な本体と、
前記本体を、予め選択した高さに照らして、所定の高さに制御拡張するプログラム可能な制御手段と、
を備えることを特徴とする、圧潰した椎体間空間の高さを回復する装置。 - 前記プログラム可能な制御手段は、前記圧潰された椎体間空間の高さを感知する感知手段と、
前記本体の拡張を制御し、前記本体により、前記椎体間空間の高さを前記所定高さまで回復すると、前記本体の拡張を停止するフィードバック手段と、
を備えることを特徴とする、請求項49に記載の装置。 - 流体を前記本体の内室に供給して、前記本体を拡張する流体導入手段を更に含み、前記フィードバック手段により、前記流体導入手段を通した流体の供給を、前記感知手段からの情報に基づいて制御する、請求項50に記載の装置。
- 前記流体導入手段と前記フィードバック手段に動作可能に連結した前記本体に、硬化性流体を注入する圧送手段と、
前記センサ手段と前記フィードバック手段との間に動作可能に接続され、前記センサ手段から感知された高さと、所定の高さとを比較し、前記フィードバック手段を作動させて、前記加圧手段を作動させて前記本体への硬化性流体の流入量を増大して、前記所望する高さまで前記感知された高さを高くするプロセッサ手段と、
を更に含む、請求項51に記載の装置。 - 拡張状態と圧潰状態とを有する少なくとも2つの拡大可能な室を備えることを特徴とする、椎体間高さ回復装置。
