また、互いに近い速度で移動しているかどうかを調べるのに、この実施形態では、物体が自車両Aの進行経路に到達するまでの到達時間TTCRを用いる。自車両Aの進行経路(この実施形態では、x軸)までの移動物体の距離は、該移動物体のy座標値Pyで表されるので、以下の式(2i)および(2j)に示すように、物体iおよび物体jの到達時間TTCRをそれぞれ算出することができる。両者の到達時間TTCRの差ΔTTCRは、式(2)に示すように算出される。
