Abstract
Description
本発明は、芳香族イソシアネートおよび脂肪族イソシアネートの混合物、ならびにアクリル性ポリオール樹脂およびポリエステルポリオール樹脂の混合物を含むポリウレタンコーティング組成物、そして上記組成物を使用するための方法に関する。
航空輸送手段および航空宇宙輸送手段は、しばしば、エポキシ樹脂もしくはポリウレタンおよび硬化剤に基づく下塗りで最初にコーティングされ、水および有機溶媒(例えば、航空燃料および/もしくは作動液)に対する抵抗性を有する硬化性二成分ポリウレタントップコートで上塗りされる(overcoated)。下塗りは、しばしば、増大した耐腐食性のために金属表面に適用されるか、もしくはその後に適用される層の接着を増強するためにポリマー表面に適用される一方で、トップコートは、しばしば、耐溶媒性、耐候性、耐摩耗性、硬度、および/もしくは審美性のような特性を達成するために、選択される。
本発明は、芳香族イソシアネートおよび脂肪族イソシアネートを含む、イソシアネート硬化剤(「イソシアネート成分」)、ならびにアクリル性ポリオールおよびポリエステルポリオールを含む、ポリオール樹脂(「ポリオール成分」)を含む、ポリウレタンコーティング組成物に関する。
本発明は、一般に、芳香族イソシアネートおよび脂肪族イソシアネートの混合物の硬化剤、ならびにアクリル性ポリオールおよびポリエステルポリオールの混合物を含む二成分ポリウレタンコーティング組成物に関する。新たなコーティング層(特に、ポリウレタントップコート層)で再仕上げする前に、本発明のコーティング組成物が、その下にある(underlying)経年変化したコーティング層の機械的研磨も溶媒剥離もすることなく、改善された中間層接着を提供し得ることが発見された。この様式において、本発明のコーティングは、「結合コート(tie coat)」として機能する。
中間層およびトップコートの接着を、旋回アーム試験、方法1を使用して評価した。寸法3インチ×6インチ×0.063インチを有する被覆アルミニウム(clad aluminum)2024−T3翼を、MIL−C−5541、クラス1Aに従って、クロム酸塩変換(chromate conversion)コーティングで処理した。下塗りを適用し、0.5〜1.0モルの乾燥フィルム厚で、噴霧ブース中で2時間乾燥させた。第1のトップコートを適用し、2.0〜4.0ミルの乾燥フィルム厚で、特定の硬化条件(例えば、90°F/34% 相対湿度(RH)もしくは72時間にわたって75°F/17% RH)において乾燥させた。上記翼をオーブンから取り出し、上記輻射線と平坦表面との間の正接点における前縁突出部(nose)を、覆った(masked off)。上記結合コートを、0.2〜1.0ミルの乾燥フィルム厚で適用し、20分〜2時間にわたって乾燥させた。新たなポリウレタントップコートを、2.0〜4.0ミルの乾燥フィルム厚で適用し、いずれの接着試験をも行う前に、周囲温度で少なくとも1週間もしくは60℃において24時間乾燥させた。
Claims (18)
- ポリウレタンコーティング組成物であって、
a)脂肪族イソシアネートおよび芳香族イソシアネートを含む、イソシアネート成分、ならびに
b)アクリル性ポリオールおよびポリエステルポリオールを含む、ポリオール成分、
を含む、組成物。 - 前記芳香族イソシアネートは、ポリマー性メチレンジフェニルジイソシアネートを含み、前記脂肪族イソシアネートは、ポリマー性ヘキサメチレンジイソシアネートを含む、請求項1に記載のコーティング組成物。
- 前記芳香族イソシアネートは、前記イソシアネート硬化剤の総固体重量のうちの1〜30重量%を構成する、請求項1に記載のコーティング組成物。
- 前記脂肪族イソシアネートは、前記イソシアネート硬化剤の総固体重量のうちの70〜99重量%を構成する、請求項1に記載のコーティング組成物。
- 前記アクリル性ポリオールは、硬質アクリル性ポリオールおよび軟質アクリル性ポリオールの混合物を含む、請求項1に記載のコーティング組成物。
- 前記硬質アクリル性ポリオールは、前記ポリオール成分において使用されるポリオールの総固体重量のうちの40〜80重量%を構成する、請求項5に記載のコーティング組成物。
- 前記軟質アクリル性ポリオールは、前記ポリオール成分において使用されるポリオールの総固体重量のうちの10〜40重量%を構成する、請求項5に記載のコーティング組成物。
- 前記ポリエステルポリオールは、前記ポリオール成分において使用されるポリオールの総固体重量のうちの10〜20重量%を構成する、請求項5に記載のコーティング組成物。
- 前記組成物は、アミンおよび/もしくは金属化合物触媒をさらに含む、請求項1に記載のコーティング組成物。
- 前記触媒は、前記コーティング組成物の総固体重量のうちの0.005〜0.25重量%を構成する、請求項9に記載のコーティング組成物。
- 前記組成物は、溶媒をさらに含む、請求項1に記載のコーティング組成物。
- 前記溶媒は、前記コーティング組成物の総重量のうちの30〜60重量%を構成する、請求項11に記載のコーティング組成物。
- 経年変化した表面を処理するための方法であって、該方法は、請求項1に記載のポリウレタンコーティング組成物を、該経年変化した表面の少なくとも一部分に適用する工程;第2のコーティング層を、該ポリウレタンコーティングの少なくとも一部分に適用する工程;および該第2のコーティングを硬化させる工程、を包含する、方法。
- 前記経年変化した表面は、経年変化したポリウレタンコーティングを含む、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記経年変化した表面は、前記ポリウレタンコーティング組成物を適用する前に、機械的に研磨されてもいないし、溶媒で剥がされてもいない、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記ポリウレタンコーティング組成物の乾燥フィルム厚は、0.05ミル〜1ミルである、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記再仕上げした表面は、BMS 10−11仕様に従う旋回アーム試験に合格する、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記ポリウレタンコーティング組成物は、前記第2のコーティング層を適用する前に乾燥させられる、請求項13に記載の方法。
