例2(センサーセルからなる充電器)
これは、この特許出願で先に記載された燃料電池とセンサーセルを使った、携帯電話充電器または汎用電気提供装置を記載する例である。
センサーセルの電圧は常に0.2Vであるべきである(燃料電池を運用している時)。もし電圧が0.2Vより低ければ、これは水素の不足を示し、よって制御エレクトロニクスが第一のDC/DCコンバータからの電圧を減少させ、リチウムイオンバッテリーおよび/または第二のDC/DCコンバータにより少ない電流が充電される。もし電圧が0.2Vよりも高ければ、反対のメカニズムが行われる。電子制御はPVM規制を使用している。
システムをスタートアップする時には、燃料電池のセルは、セル当り1秒の期間の間レ族的に個別に短絡される。各短絡化の間に、センサーセルの電圧がテストされる。この手順は、定常動作を開始する前にセルを始動することが意図されている。
エラー表示の起こった場合には、電気機械的メカニズムによってMHタンクがガスコネクター装置から切断され、光ダイオードは、充電器がシャットダウン手順に入っていることを示している。そのようなエラー表示は、1)一つの特定のセルの低い電圧(即ち、0.3Vより下)、2)センサーセルの低すぎる電圧(即ち、0.1Vより下)、3)燃料電池から来る高すぎる電流(即ち、1.5Aを超えている)、4)燃料電池における高すぎる温度(即ち、50℃よりも高い)、5)バッテリーにおける高すぎるか低すぎる温度(即ち、5℃より下か45℃より上)、6)バッテリーにおける高すぎるか低すぎる電圧(即ち3.6Vより下か3.9Vより上)、であることができる。
Claims (24)
- 少なくとも一つのパワー発生する燃料電池とセンサーセルを含む燃料電池アッセンブリであって、
前記センサーセルは、アッセンブリ中の他のセルと同じ一般的構成を有し、即ち陽極GDLと、陰極GDLと、前記GDLの間に挿入配置され、その燃料を他のセルからのガス出口中の残留燃料から受け取るように他のセルからの水素ガス出口に位置するMEAとを含み、センサーセルの陽極と陰極は抵抗(R)を介してお互いに接続されている、燃料電池アッセンブリ。 - センサーセルは、負電流コレクターを面内燃料電池アッセンブリ中の最後の燃料電池と共有するように結合されている、請求項1記載の燃料電池アッセンブリ。
- アッセンブリ中のセルは、面内構成に配置されている、請求項1記載の燃料電池アッセンブリ。
- 前記センサーセルは、アッセンブリ中の動作的セルよりも小さい、請求項1または2記載の燃料電池アッセンブリ。
- 圧縮ガス源と、燃料電池装置のガス出口におけるデッドエンドバルブとを含み、前記センサーセルは、ガスフロー方向で燃料電池の後だがデッドエンドバルブの前に置かれる、先行する請求項のいずれかに記載の燃料電池アッセンブリ。
- デッドエンドバルブは、非燃料ガスの堆積を避けるように小さな漏洩を有する、請求項5記載の燃料電池アッセンブリ。
- センサーセルは、水素源の最大フロー限界がサポートできるものよりもパワー引き出しが大きいのがいつかを示すことが可能である、請求項6記載の燃料電池アッセンブリ。
- 小さな漏洩を有するデッドエンドバルブは、好ましくは1〜7psi(6.9kPa〜48.3kPa)にある閾値においてそれが開くように圧力依存機能性を有する、請求項5、6または7記載の燃料電池アッセンブリ。
- 動作可能/動作的パワー燃料電池と同じ構成を有するセンサー燃料電池であって、
陽極/陰極に跨って結合された抵抗(R)と、
動作的燃料電池からの出口に接続可能な燃料入口と、
制御部に接続可能な、前記制御部に電圧信号を提供するための端末であって、前記電圧は、前記センサーセルがそれに接続可能であるところの燃料電池アッセンブリの動作を制御するために使用可能である、センサー燃料電池。 - 燃料電池アッセンブリへのガスフィードの1〜5%を消費するように適応された、請求項9記載のセンサー燃料電池。
- 抵抗が、Uworkの使用電圧を有するセンサーセルについて、以下のような大きさであり:

ここで
Ireg=Egas×Inom×N
であり、Egasはセンサーセルに供給された余剰ガス、Iregは、Inomの名目電流を有するN個のセルのアッセンブリのためのセンサーセルを通した電流である、請求項9または10記載のセンサー燃料電池。 - 抵抗は、0.5〜2オーム、好ましくは0.75から1.25オームの抵抗値を有する、請求項9〜11のいずれかに記載のセンサー燃料電池。
- 動作的セルよりも小さい、請求項9〜12のいずれかに記載のセンサー燃料電池。
- 請求項1に記載の燃料電池アッセンブリを含む電気的装置。
- センサーセルの電圧に応じてアッセンブリへの水素の供給またはアッセンブリからのパワー引き出しを規制するように適応された制御部を更に含む、請求項14記載の電気的装置。
- 電子機器の電力源である、請求項14または15記載の電気的装置。
- 電力によって動作するユニットと、充電可能なバッテリを含み、請求項15記載の装置を接続する手段を含む装置。
- 複数の燃料電池ユニットであって、各ユニットは好適にはガスフローと電流に対して並列に接続された3〜8個のセルを含み、各ユニットは一つのセンサーセルを有し、オプションで各燃料電池ユニットとパワー制御エレクトロニクスに接続されたDC/DCコンバータを更に含む、請求項17記載の装置。
- 各センサーセルからの信号は、異なる燃料電池ユニットにおいてフローが異なるかどうかに拘わらず、全ての水素ガスが消費されるように、各パワー制御部によって出力パワーを制御するのに使われる、請求項18記載の装置。
- 請求項1記載の燃料電池アッセンブリを動作させる方法であって、
水素ガスを燃料電池に供給することと、
センサーセルの電圧を監視することと、
動作中に、センサーセルの電圧を連続的に監視することと、
センサーセルの電圧が所定の値からずれた時に、アッセンブリの性能を調節する制御機能を行うことと、
を含む方法。 - スタートアップにおいて、アッセンブリ中のセルを所定の時間連続的に個別に短絡させることと、
各短絡させることの間に、センサーセルをテストすることと、
全てのセルが短絡させられた時に、燃料の連続的な供給を提供することと、
を更に含む請求項20記載の方法。 - 制御機能は燃料フィードを調節することを含む、請求項20記載の方法。
- 制御機能は、燃料電池アッセンブリからのパワー引き出しを調節することを含む、請求項20記載の方法。
- もし動作中にセンサー電圧が低下すれば、
a)燃料電池アッセンブリからのパワー引き出しを減少させることと、もし電圧が十分に増加しなければ、
b)パワー引き出しを瞬間的に停止すること、
を行うことを更に含む請求項20記載の方法。
