Abstract
Description
ここで図1を参照すると、例示的な新聞印刷媒体100が示される。例示的な新聞印刷媒体100は、多価塩110の層が原紙130の少なくとも片面上に配される原紙130を含む。この例における原紙130は、新聞印刷媒体100として分類され、少なくとも60重量%の機械パルプを含む。
多価塩110は、スプレーコーティングプロセスによって原紙130の表面上に堆積されていてもよい。この例では、少なくとも3%が多価塩である水溶液を、原紙130上に噴霧し、乾燥させてもよい。乾燥させると、多価塩110の層が、原紙130の繊維網内に組み込まれるようになっている。
本明細書中に開示される原理に従った新聞印刷媒体はインクジェットプリンタと併せて使用され、好適な色域、裏抜け、光学濃度及び乾燥時間特性を有する印刷画像及び/又は印字を作成することができる。
本明細書中に記載の原理に従い、多孔質媒体を、様々な量の多価塩である塩化カルシウム(CaCl2)でコーティングした。媒体上に存在する塩化カルシウムの量は、未処理の対照セットから1.5グラム/平方メートル(gsm)までの範囲をとるようにした。その後、液体インクをサーマルインクジェットペンに装填し、同じ画像を媒体上に印刷した。
本明細書中に記載の原理に従い、多孔質媒体を、多価塩である塩化カルシウムの5%溶液でコーティングした。インクセット番号1及びインクセット番号2と識別した2つの異なるインクセットを、多価塩添加剤を含まない対照媒体上、及び塩化カルシウムでコーティングした媒体上に同一画像を印刷するのに用いた。色域及び黒色光学濃度の測定はその後印刷画像から行った。
Claims (10)
- インクジェット印刷用の新聞印刷媒体(100、200)であって、
新聞印刷媒体(100、200)の原紙と、
前記原紙の少なくとも片面上に配される多価塩(110)の層と、
を含むことを特徴とするインクジェット印刷用の新聞印刷媒体。 - 前記多価塩(110)が、塩化カルシウム、塩化マグネシウム、硝酸カルシウム、塩化アルミニウム、二価金属及び三価金属の硫酸塩、二価金属及び三価金属の硝酸塩、並びにそれらの組み合わせから成る群から選択されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の新聞印刷媒体。
- 前記多価塩(110)が、前記原紙上に所定のパターンで塗布されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の新聞印刷媒体。
- 前記多価塩(110)が、少なくとも0.2gsmの量で前記原紙上に配されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の新聞印刷媒体。
- 新聞印刷媒体(100、200)を作製する方法であって、
新聞印刷媒体(100、200)の原紙を準備すること、
多価塩溶液(420)を準備すること、及び
前記多価塩溶液(420)を、前記原紙の少なくとも片面(130)上に塗布すること、
を含むことを特徴とする新聞印刷媒体(100、200)を作製する方法。 - 前記多価塩溶液(420)が少なくとも3%の前記多価塩を含むことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の方法。
- インクジェット塗布装置(405、605、610、615、625)による前記スプレーコーティングを実施することをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記溶液(420)を緩衝液で処理することをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の方法。
- 印刷システム(600)であって、
インクジェットプリンタ(640)と、
少なくとも片面(130)上に多価塩が堆積される新聞印刷媒体(100、200)と
を備え、
インク(620)を前記新聞印刷媒体上に堆積させる前記インクジェットプリンタ(640)により作成される画像が、前記多価塩で処理を施していない新聞印刷媒体(100、200)上に前記インク(620)を堆積させることにより作成される画像よりも少なくとも10%の平均光学濃度の増大を示すことを特徴とする印刷システム。 - 前記インク(620)が顔料を含み、且つ該顔料の少なくとも一部が、共有結合した化学基により安定化されることを特徴とする請求項9に記載の印刷システム。
