Abstract

ゴルフティーが、硬質ポリマーなどの剛体材料から製作された杭と、柔軟な突起部を、そして場合によっては柔軟な枢動軸をも備えた柔軟な頭部とを併せ持つ。これによって、インパクト時の抵抗が減少し、摩擦が小さくなり、ボールのスピンが少なくなる。その結果、飛距離および正確さが向上する。剛体材料と柔軟な材料との融合によって、繰り返し打たれても耐えることができ、何度も繰り返して使用することができるティーが提供される。

Description

本出願は、２００７年１月２３日出願の米国仮特許出願第６０／８８１，８４８号の利益を主張する。本発明の意匠の態様は、２００７年１月２３日出願の米国意匠特許出願第２９／２７１，５９４号に開示されている。それらの出願の両方の開示は、参照によってその全体が本出願に組み込まれる。
本発明は、剛体杭と、柔軟な突起部を備えた柔軟な頭部とを有するゴルフティーを対象とする。
ゴルフティーは通常、木材や硬質プラスチックなどの剛体材料から製作され、ゴルフボールを保持するためのカップ形状の頭部を有する。カップは、過大な摩擦をもたらすため、その摩擦を減少させることが望ましい。
「ゼロフリクションティー」は、３つの硬質プラスチックの股を有する。接触点が３カ所しかないため、摩擦が最小に抑えられる。しかし、それらの股は曲がらない。
ブリストルブラシティーは、曲がるブリストルを有するが、それらは耐久性がない。
上記の障害を克服するために、本発明は、硬質ポリマーなどの剛体材料から製作された杭と、柔軟な突起部を、そして場合によっては柔軟な枢動軸をも備えた柔軟な頭部とを併せ持つゴルフティーを対象とする。これによって、インパクト時の抵抗が減少し、摩擦が小さくなり、ボールのスピンが少なくなる。その結果、飛距離および正確さが向上する。剛体材料と柔軟な材料との融合によって、繰り返し打たれても耐えることができ、何度も繰り返して使用することができるティーが提供される。

本発明の好ましい実施形態について、図面を参照して詳細に述べる。図面では、同様の参照番号は、全体を通じて同様の構成要素を指す。
これらの図面に示されているように、好ましい実施形態によるゴルフティー１は、複数の突起部５を備えた動的エラストマーの頭部またはヘッド３と、柔軟なエラストマーの枢動軸７と、ティー高さ指標９と、硬質ポリマーの杭１１とを含む。使用時には、突起部５は、ゴルフボール１３を支持し、ティー１は、地面１５中へティー高さ指標９まで押し込まれる。この好ましい実施形態は、６個の突起部を有するが、別の数の突起部を使用することもできる。
図５に示されているように、頭部３および枢動軸７は、ＬＤＰＥやＴＰＵなど、柔軟なエラストマーから製作される。杭１１は、ナイロンや別の硬質プラスチックなどの硬質ポリマーから製作される。もちろん、他の材料を使用することもできる。
突起部５は柔軟性があり、それによって、木製カップまたは硬質プラスチックの股を有する従来のゴルフティーよりも摩擦が小さくなり、ボールのスピンレートが低くなる。頭部３は、従来技術のブリストルブラシティーの頭部よりも相対的に堅いため、ティー１は、従来のやり方でボール１３とともに地面中へ押し込むことができる。ブリストルブラシティーに関する別の利点は、好ましい実施形態のティー１がより長持ちすることである。
本発明の好ましい実施形態について、詳細に上述したが、本開示を精査した当業者なら、本発明の範囲内で他の実施形態を実現できるということを容易に理解するであろう。たとえば、具体的な材料の数値および記述は、例示的なものであり、限定的なものではない。したがって本発明は、添付の特許請求の範囲によってのみ限定されるものと解釈すべきである。

Claims (5)

  1. 第１の材料から製作された頭部であって、ゴルフボールを支持するために前記第１の材料から製作された複数の突起部を含む頭部と、
    前記第１の材料よりも柔軟でない第２の材料から製作された杭とを含むゴルフティー。
  2. 前記第１の材料から製作された軸をさらに含む、請求項１に記載のゴルフティー。
  3. 前記枢動軸がティー高さ指標を含む、請求項２に記載のゴルフティー。
  4. 前記第１の材料がエラストマーを含む、請求項１に記載のゴルフティー。
  5. 前記第２の材料が硬質ポリマーを含む、請求項４に記載のゴルフティー。
