Description
・ IV:固有粘度は、デカリン中135℃でPTC−179の方法(ヘラクレス・インコーポレイテッド、レビュー、1982年4月29日(Hercules nc.Rev.Apr.29,1982)に従って測定し、溶解時間は16時間であり、DBPCを酸化防止剤として2g/リットル溶液の量だけ用い、種々の濃度で測定された粘度を濃度ゼロに外挿する。
・ 引張特性(25℃で測定):引張り強さ(または強さ)、引張モジュラス(またはモジュラス)および破断点伸びは、ASTM D885Mで規定されているように定義し、マルチフィラメント糸で測定する。繊維の公称標点距離(nominal gauge length)は500mm、クロスヘッド速度は50%/分で行う。モジュラスは、測定された応力−歪曲線に基づいて、0.3から1%の歪の間の傾きとして求める。モジュラスおよび強さを計算するために、測定した引張力を、10メートルの繊維を計量して測定される繊度で割り、値(GPa単位)は密度を0.97g/cm3と仮定して計算する。薄膜の引張特性はISO 1184(H)に従って測定した。
・ マトリックス材のモジュラスは、ISO 527に従って測定した。100%モジュラスは、長さが100mm(クランプ間の自由長さ)で、幅が24mmのフィルム片で測定した。100%モジュラスは、0%から100%の歪の間で測定した割線モジュラスである。
まず、一方向単一層をドラムワインダ上に作った。この目的のために、シリコン処理紙をドラムワインダのドラムに取り付けた。ドラムの周長および幅はどちらも160cmであった。引張強さが3.6GPaであり、繊度がフィラメント当たり1.92デニールであるポリエチレン糸を、3.08mmのピッチでドラムワインダに巻き付けた。ドラムに巻き付ける前に、糸は、水中にスチレンイソプレンスチレンブロックコポリマーを含む分散液でぬらした。その分散液を希釈することにより、糸が吸収する固形分の量を調整して、糸量に対して18重量%にした。
67枚の最終シートを有するスタックを、標準的なプレスの2枚のプラテンの間に入れた。プラテンの温度は125〜130℃の間であった。パッケージの中心部の温度が115〜125℃の間になるまで、パッケージをプレス中に保持した。その後、圧力は30MPaの圧縮圧力まで増大させ、パッケージを65分間この圧力下に保った。その後、同じ圧縮圧力においてパッケージを60℃の温度まで冷やした。
糸の引張強さが3.3GPa、繊度がフィラメント当たり3.3デニール、マトリックス含量が22%、および糸ピッチが6.08mmであったこと以外は、実施例1で説明したのと同じ手順を用いてシートを作った。これにより、4層の単一層を含み、それぞれの単一層が24.3g/m2の糸面密度および6.9g/m2のマトリックス面密度を有するシートが得られた。

- 少なくとも4層の単一層のスタックを含む弾道抵抗性シートであって、
それぞれの単一層が、
3.5から4.5GPaの間の引張り強さを有する一方向配向の強化用繊維と、
20質量%以下のマトリックス材とを含み、
単一層の面密度が少なくとも25g/m2であり、
それぞれの単一層中の繊維方向が隣接単一層中の繊維方向に対して回転している、弾道抵抗性シート。 - 単一層の前記面密度が少なくとも40g/m2である、請求項1に記載の弾道抵抗性シート。
- 前記単一層が18.5質量%以下のマトリックス材を含む、請求項1または2に記載の弾道抵抗性シート。

- セラミックまたは金属の衝撃面をさらに含む、請求項8に記載の弾道抵抗性成形品。
- 請求項8または9に記載の弾道抵抗性成形品を含む、防弾チョッキなどの防護服。
