Abstract
【解決手段】導電性支持体上の酸化物半導体5に色素4を吸着させてなる半導体電極6と、対向電極8とを電荷輸送層7を介して対向配置してなる色素増感型の光電変換素子の製造方法において、前記電荷輸送層は分子量の異なる複数の電荷輸送物質を含有し、前記半導体電極上に、第1の電荷輸送物質含有塗布液と、前記第1の電荷輸送物質含有塗布液の電荷輸送物質の分子量より大きい分子量を持つ電荷輸送物質を含有する第2の電荷輸送物質含有塗布液をこの順に塗布して、前記電荷輸送層を形成することを特徴とする光電変換素子の製造方法。

5.前記酸化物半導体が酸化チタンであることを特徴とする前記1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の光電変換素子の製造方法。
本発明の光電変換素子について、図により説明する。
固体電解質を用いた色素増感型の光電変換素子において、高い光電変換効率を有する光電変換素子を得るためには、増感色素分子−電荷輸送物質(電解質分子)間の接触性の改善が重要であり、電荷輸送物質の電荷輸送度や酸化物半導体の細孔への電荷輸送物質の浸透度が光電変換効率に大きく関わっている。しかし酸化物半導体の細孔へ電荷輸送物質を行き渡らせるために吸着時間を増やすと、溶媒の揮発による成膜性の悪化、酸化物半導体から増感色素の離脱が起こり、光電変換効率は悪化するという問題があった。
繰り返し単位を有する電荷輸送物質の分子量は、標準ポリスチレンSTK(東ソー(株)製)を標準試料とし、ゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィー(GPC)で測定することができる。また、光散乱法を利用して求めることもできる。
本発明に係る半導体電極(図1の6)の作製方法について説明する。
本発明の光電変換素子や本発明の太陽電池に用いられる基板(導電性支持体ともいう)には、金属板のような導電性材料や、ガラス板やプラスチックフイルムのような非導電性材料に導電性物質を設けた構造のものを用いることができる。導電性支持体に用いられる材料の例としては金属(例えば、白金、金、銀、銅、アルミニウム、ロジウム、インジウム)あるいは導電性金属酸化物(例えば、インジウム−スズ複合酸化物、酸化スズにフッ素をドープしたもの)や炭素を挙げることができる。導電性支持体の厚さは特に制約されないが、0.3〜5mmが好ましい。
先ず、半導体の微粉末を含む塗布液を調製する。この半導体微粉末はその1次粒子径が微細な程好ましく、その1次粒子径は1〜5000nmが好ましく、さらに好ましくは2〜50nmである。半導体微粉末を含む塗布液は、半導体微粉末を溶媒中に分散させることによって調製することができる。溶媒中に分散された半導体微粉末は、その1次粒子状で分散する。溶媒としては半導体微粉末を分散し得るものであればよく、特に制約されない。
上記のようにして得られた半導体微粉末含有塗布液を、導電性支持体上に塗布または吹きつけ、乾燥等を行った後、空気中または不活性ガス中で焼成して、導電性支持体上に半導体層(半導体膜)が形成される。
本発明では、半導体層に色素を担持させている。電荷の半導体薄膜への効率的な注入の観点から、上記増感色素はカルボキシル基を有することが好ましい。以下に、色素の具体例を示すが、本発明はこれらに限定されるものではない。
半導体の増感処理は上記のように色素を適切な溶媒に溶解し、その溶液に前記半導体を焼成して固着した基板を浸漬することによって行われる。その際には、半導体層(半導体膜ともいう)を焼成により形成し基板を、予め減圧処理や加熱処理して膜中の気泡を除去し、色素が半導体層(半導体膜)内部深くに進入できるようにしておくことが好ましく、半導体層(半導体膜)が多孔質構造膜である場合には特に好ましい。
本発明に用いられる電荷輸送層(正孔輸送層、電荷移動層ともいう)について説明する。
本発明に用いられる対向電極について説明する。
本発明の太陽電池について説明する。
〔光電変換素子1の作製:本発明〕
フッ素ドープ酸化スズ(FTO)導電性ガラス基板上に、アルコキシチタン溶液(松本工商:TA−25/IPA希釈)をスピンコート法にて塗布した。室温で30分放置後、450℃で30分間焼成を行い、短絡防止層(絶縁層)とした。続いて、市販の酸化チタンペースト(粒径18nm)を上記短絡防止層上にドクターブレード法により塗布した後、60℃で10分間加熱処理後、500℃で30分間焼成を行い、厚さ5μmの酸化チタン薄膜を有する半導体電極基板を得た。
光電変換素子1の作製において、第1の電荷輸送物質含有塗布液の電荷輸送物質E−1、第2の電荷輸送物質含有塗布液の電荷輸送物質E−2を表1のように代えた以外は同様にして、光電変換素子2〜6を作製した。
光電変換素子1の作製において、第1の電荷輸送物質含有塗布液の電荷輸送物質E−1、第2の電荷輸送物質含有塗布液の電荷輸送物質E−2を表1のように代えた以外は同様にして、光電変換素子7〜11を作製した。
光電変換素子1の作製において、第1の電荷輸送物質含有塗布液の電荷輸送物質E−1を表1のように代え、第2の電荷輸送物質含有塗布液は塗布せずに、光電変換素子12〜15を作製した。
光電変換素子12作製において、第1の電荷輸送物質含有塗布液の電荷輸送物質E−1の濃度を2倍にした以外は同様にして、光電変換素子16を作製した。
光電変換素子1作製において、第1の電荷輸送物質含有塗布液の電荷輸送物質E−1 0.17mol/lを、電荷輸送物質E−1 0.085mol/lと電荷輸送物質E−4 0.085mol/lに代え(併用)、第2の電荷輸送物質含有塗布液の電荷輸送物質E−2 0.17mol/lを、電荷輸送物質E−2 0.085mol/lと電荷輸送物質E−5 0.085mol/lに代えた(併用)以外は同様にして、光電変換素子17を作製した。
作製した光電変換素子について、光電変換特性を測定した。
強度100mW/cm2のキセノンランプ照射下、半導体電極に5×5mm2のマスクをかけた条件下で光電変換特性の測定を行った。
ここで、Pは入射光強度[mW・cm−2]、Vocは開放電圧[V]、Jscは短絡電流密度[mA・cm−2]、FFは形状因子を示す。

Claims (8)
- 導電性支持体上の酸化物半導体に色素を吸着させてなる半導体電極と、対向電極とを電荷輸送層を介して対向配置してなる色素増感型の光電変換素子の製造方法において、前記電荷輸送層は分子量の異なる複数の電荷輸送物質を含有し、前記半導体電極上に、第1の電荷輸送物質含有塗布液と、前記第1の電荷輸送物質含有塗布液の電荷輸送物質の分子量より大きい分子量を持つ電荷輸送物質を含有する第2の電荷輸送物質含有塗布液をこの順に塗布して、前記電荷輸送層を形成することを特徴とする光電変換素子の製造方法。
- 前記第1の電荷輸送物質含有塗布液の電荷輸送物質の分子量が230〜700、かつ第2の電荷輸送物質含有塗布液の電荷輸送物質の分子量が1000以上であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光電変換素子の製造方法。
- 前記第2の電荷輸送物質含有塗布液の電荷輸送物質が電解質であることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の光電変換素子の製造方法。
- 前記酸化物半導体が酸化チタンであることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の光電変換素子の製造方法。
- 前記色素がカルボキシル基を有することを特徴とする請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の光電変換素子の製造方法。
- 請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の光電変換素子の製造方法で得られたことを特徴とする光電変換素子。
- 請求項7に記載の光電変換素子を有することを特徴とする太陽電池。
