Abstract

Description

本発明は概して、入力および表示が制約されたデバイスでコンテンツをナビゲーションおよび選択するユーザの行動を学習する方法に関する。より具体的には、本発明は、学習されたナビゲーションおよび選択行動データを使用して、種々のサービスプロバイダおよびコンテンツクエリシステムとのユーザの相互作用を個別化する、例えばユーザによって提供されたクエリに対する結果をより良好に発見し、かつ結果を配列してユーザに提示することに関する。
入力制約および表示制約デバイスでの情報発見システムの使用可能性に対する酸性テストは、所望の情報の発見においてユーザによって費やされた労力である（情報の発見はテキストベース検索、コンテンツスペースの閲覧または両者の組み合わせであってもよい）。ユーザによって費やされた労力は、所望の情報を発見するために情報発見システムと相互作用するのに伴うステップ数である。ボタンの各クリックやスクロール運動、あるいは文字の入力は、費やされた労力としてユーザによって知覚される。任意のユーザインタフェースの成否はこの測定基準によって判断可能である。

図１を参照すると、本発明の１つ以上の実施形態に従った、広範なデバイスを使用するローカルおよび／またはネットワーク常駐情報のナビゲーションシステム全体が図示されている。サーバファーム１０１は、分散フレームワークとして機能するネットワーク１０２によるナビゲーションデータおよび関連性更新のソースとして作用する。分散は有線および無線接続の組み合わせであってもよい。ナビゲーションデバイスは、ディスプレイサイズが制限されており、かつオーバーロードまたは小型ＱＷＥＲＴＹキーパッドを任意に具備する携帯デバイス１０３（例えば、電話、ＰＤＡまたは音楽／ビデオ再生デバイス）、オーバーロードまたは小型ＱＷＥＲＴＹキーパッドを具備するリモート１０４ｂに結合されているテレビ１０４ａ、またはディスプレイが制限され、かつ入力性能を具備するデスクトップ電話１０５などの広範なインタフェース性能を有することがある。
図２を参照すると、検索用の複数のデバイス構成が図示されている。一構成では、ナビゲーションデバイス１０３はディスプレイ２０１と、プロセッサ２０２と、揮発性メモリ２０３と、オンデバイスのテキスト入力インタフェース２０４と、ネットワーク１０２を介するサーバ１０１へのリモート接続２０５と、ローカル永続記憶装置２０６とを有している。別のデバイス構成では、デバイス１０３はローカル永続記憶装置２０６を有していなくてもよい。このようなシナリオにおいて、デバイス１０３は、サーバ１０１にクエリを提出し、これから結果を検索するためにリモート接続２０５を有している。別の構成のデバイス１０３では、リモート接続２０５を有していなくてもよい。このシナリオでは、ナビゲーションデータベースはローカル永続記憶装置２０６にローカルに常駐してもよい。永続記憶装置２０６は、ＳＤ、スマートメディア、コンパクトフラッシュ（登録商標）カードなどのリムーバブル記憶要素であってもよい。ナビゲーション用のリモート接続２０５およびローカル永続記憶装置２０６を具備するデバイスの構成では、このデバイスは、関連性データ更新を検索／閲覧するため、またはナビゲーションデータベースがローカル記憶装置２０６およびサーバ１０１に分散される場合に対してリモート接続を使用してもよい。
図３Ａは、ローカルまたはリモート常駐情報をナビゲーションするためのモバイルデバイス３００Ａのインタフェースを図示している。ユーザはキーパッド３０２Ａを使用してテキストを入力し、この入力されたテキストはテキストフィールド３０３Ａに表示される。デバイスのナビゲーションインタフェースは、最小限の水平および垂直方向の移動を容易にするナビゲーションボタン３０５Ａである。この結果は、入力インクリメンタルテキストクエリや閲覧行為に対応する結果エリア３０１Ａに表示される。ユーザは、ナビゲーションボタン３０５Ａを使用するスクロールインタフェース３０４Ａを使用してこの結果をスクロール可能である。別のスクロールインタフェース３０７Ａは閲覧専用デバイス３０６Ａ（例えば、コンテンツがリモート常駐し、かつユーザがこのコンテンツをリモートナビゲーションするｉＰｏｄなどの音楽プレーヤ）に示される。この閲覧結果はディスプレイ３０８Ａに示される。
図３Ｂは、所望の結果に至るためにユーザが推移可能なナビゲーション行為の種々の状態を図示している。ユーザは、（複数の）対象結果発見のテキスト入力および閲覧形態のいずれかのみまたはこれらの組み合わせを自由に選択できる。しかしながら、用いられる実際の経路は、ユーザの意図と、表示されている情報の両方によって影響される場合がある。例えば、ユーザはテキストを入力する（３０１Ｂ）ことによって開始してもよく、また表示結果をスクロールし（３０２Ｂ）、非端末ノードを取り上げ（３０３Ｂ）、非端末の子を横断してもよい（３０２Ｂ）。ユーザが結果を発見する場合、ユーザはこれを選択し（３０３Ｂ）、適切な行為を実行する（３０４Ｂ）。これは図５および図６にさらに詳細に論じられている。
図３Ｃは、オーバーロードキーによる１２キーのキーパッドを図示している。組み込まれている先願により詳細に説明されているように、オーバーロードキーによるキーパッドは、インクリメンタル検索用のテキスト入力を実行するために使用可能である。

図４は、ノードが反復操作されるのに伴って経時的に変化するデータ階層による個別ナビゲーションの一実施形態を図で表示している。より詳細に後述されるように、組み込まれている出願のうちの１つ以上で説明されている技術に基づいて、特定のノードの関連性重みは、行為の時間および位置を含む、ノードに対してなされた各反復行為のコンテクストに影響される。したがって、電話帳リストの第１の発見可能なノードは、現在の検索位置および時間に伴ったユーザの過去のナビゲーション行動に基づくものであってもよい。例えば、Ｍｅｔｈｏｄｓ ａｎｄ Ｓｙｓｔｅｍｓ Ｆｏｒ Ｓｅｌｅｃｔｉｎｇ ａｎｄ Ｐｒｅｓｅｎｔｉｎｇ Ｃｏｎｔｅｎｔ Ｂａｓｅｄ Ｏｎ Ｌｅａｒｎｅｄ Ｐｅｒｉｏｄｉｃｉｔｙ Ｏｆ Ｕｓｅｒ Ｃｏｎｔｅｎｔ Ｓｅｌｅｃｔｉｏｎと題され、２００７年３月６日に出願された米国特許出願第１１／６８２，６９３号は、過去の行動からユーザの将来の行動を推論するために使用される技術について説明している。
例示目的で、図４は、ツリーとして表されているデータ階層４００を示しており、これは、グラフなどの他の組織形態でもよい。電話帳などの検索スペースの初期条件はデータノード（Ｄ１〜Ｄｋ）として示されている。各データノードは異なる深さのノードの階層である。ユーザが閲覧ベースでのみツリーをナビゲーションする場合、純粋な閲覧ベースで深さ「ｉ」のノードに至るためのステップ数（ナビゲーションコスト）はΣ（Ｌｄｉ＋Ｎｉ）（１≦ｉ≦Ｉ）であり、ここでＬは、レベル「ｉ」のノードへの線形横断のコストであり、この場合、横断ノードは対象ノードの上位であり、またＮは、ノードの上位からこの直系にある第１の子へ派生するコストである。このコストは主に、ユーザが純粋な閲覧行為によってツリーを降下するのに伴うデータ階層の線形化によるものである。

ユーザがＪｏｈｎ Ｄｏｅのモバイル電話番号、ノードＣｋＪに関心があれば、ユーザは、テキスト検索または閲覧ベースのナビゲーションを使用してこの番号を発見することができる。加えて、ユーザがノードＣｋＪを反復して検索または閲覧する場合、このノードに割り当てられている関連性重みは、これに対してなされる各反復行為によって強化し続ける。このノードに割り当てられている関連性重みの増大は、ユーザの観点から、ナビゲーション階層図を並べ替えるために使用される。学習された好みおよび増大された関連性重みの前に４０１に図示されているように、ノードＣｋＪは、Ｊｏｈｎ Ｄｏｅの連絡先番号リストに提示されているｊ番目のエントリである。４０３に図示されているように、増大した関連性重みが適用された後、ノードＣｋＪは、ノードＤｋ内の第１のエントリまで上昇する、例えば、Ｊｏｈｎ Ｄｏｅの連絡先フォルダの第１の電話番号になる。データノードＤｋ（Ｊｏｈｎ Ｄｏｅ）について表示された結果セット４０４はそして、結果セットにおける第１のエントリとしてＪｏｈｎ Ｄｏｅのモバイル電話番号を提示することになる。
４０５に図示されているように、ノードＣｋＪの重みは使用に伴って強化し続け、結果的にこのノードは、電話帳リストにおいて最初に発見可能なノードになる。学習がなされた後、この結果セット４０６はＤｋ（Ｊｏｈｎ Ｄｏｅ）およびＣｋＪ（Ｊｏｈｎ Ｄｏｅのモバイル番号）を第１のエントリとして有することになる。結果セットの残りは、他にユーザ選択肢がなく、Ｄ１（Ｊｏｈｎ Ａｄａｍｓ）およびＣ１１（Ｊｏｈｎ Ａｄａｍｓの主要連絡先番号）と、Ｄ２（Ｊｏｈｎ Ｂｒｏｗｎ）およびＣ２１（Ｊｏｈｎ Ｂｒｏｗｎの主要連絡先番号）とを含む。
規則的なパターンによる反復行為によって、結果としてユーザは多くを実行する必要がなくなる。関連ノードは増大した重みを受信し、連絡先番号は、適切な時間および位置で電話ディスプレイにレンダリングされる。このノードの関連性重みの強化は、ナビゲーションタイプが検索または閲覧いずれであるかにかかわらず生じる点に注目することが重要である。両者は、ナビゲーション階層の同一形態の認識図をもたらす。例えば、ユーザが常にＪｏｈｎ Ｄｏｅを検索し、彼に電話をする場合、Ｊｏｈｎ Ｄｏｅの関連性重みの増大によって、Ｊｏｈｎ Ｄｏｅは少数の文字で発見されることになる。最後に、反復パターンが極めて規則的である場合、テキスト入力ステップは排除されることもある。電話帳コンテクストの最初のノードはＪｏｈｎ Ｄｏｅの連絡先情報を含んでおり、ユーザは、インクリメンタルテキストを全く入力することなく連絡先を選択するだけでよいことになる。
上記図示は反復性の高いタスクの並べ替えに焦点を当てているが、このシステムはまた、ユーザの行為パターンから学習されたユーザの好みに関するより幅広い情報に基づいてコンテンツスペースのユーザビューの並べ替えを実行する。例えば、ユーザが常にアクションジャンル映画を検索する場合、これらの映画は、より容易に発見されるようにより高い関連性が付与される。
図５は、モバイル電話でテキスト入力ベースインクリメンタル検索を実行するユーザを図示している。ユーザは「Ｒ」とタイプし（５０１）、これはＲで始まる結果のレンダリングをもたらす。図５０２〜５０４は、最後の行までスクロールダウンしてＲＡＮＤＯＬＦを選択して電話をかけるユーザを図示している。この「検索−電話」行為が（時間および位置も考慮される）反復行為であれば、このシステムは経時的にこれを学習し（５０５）、ＲＡＮＤＯＬＦの関連性を高め、ユーザはこの連絡先を容易に発見できる。さらに、定期的に呼び出されるが異なる時間ウィンドウにある別の人物「ＲＡＭＡ」がいる場合、同一文字「Ｒ」の入力は午前９時（これは通常Ｒａｎｄｏｌｆに電話する時間）にＲＡＮＤＯＬＦを、午後５時（これは通常、この人物に電話をする時間）に「Ｒａｍａ」を表示する。経時的に、この反復行為は、ユーザが文字「Ｒ」を入力する必要がないほど十分に強化する。午前９時頃、電話は「Ｒａｎｄｏｌｆ」と上部に表示してアクセスを容易にし、午後５時頃には「Ｒａｍａ」と表示する。したがって、本例では、午前９時のデータ階層の提示は午後５時のデータ階層の提示とは異なる。
反復行為について識別される時間ウィンドウは事前に定義されてもよく、あるいは、反復行為の頻度に従って動的に判断されてもよい。例えば、時間ウィンドウは１日のうちに生じる１５分周期で設定されてもよく、あるいはシステムは、特定の１日にはより大きなウィンドウが適切であると判断することもある。時間ウィンドウはまた、曜日や日付によって差別化されてもよく、例えば、異なるノードが、週末の関連性と比較して平日はより高い関連性がある場合もある。最後に、システムは外部アプリケーションとインタフェース接続することもあり、このアプリケーションのデータに基づいて理想的な時間ウィンドウを判断してもよい。例えば、このシステムはカレンダーアプリケーションからのデータを用い、（家族の誕生日や月例プロジェクトミーティングなどの）週単位、月単位または年単位の出来事に基づいてノードの関連性を高める。
同様に、ユーザの位置はノードの関連性に影響することもある。例えば、ユーザが仕事中の場合、ビジネス連絡先情報の関連性は増大されてもよい。位置は当業界で既知の多様な方法によって判断されてもよく、例えばユーザのデバイスはＧＰＳ性能を有している場合もある。
図６は、閲覧ベース反復ナビゲーション行動の学習を図示している。ステップ６０１から６０４は、所望の連絡先Ｒａｎｄｏｌｆに至るために辞書式分類された連絡先リストのスクロール（またはページダウン動作）をまず実行するユーザを図示している。システムは経時的にこの行為行動を学習し（６０５）、「Ｒａｎｄｏｌｆの」番号をスクリーンに自動的に表示して、アクセスを容易にする。同様に、連絡先「Ｒａｍａ」が通常異なる時間ウィンドウで呼び出される場合、「Ｒａｍａ」は１日のうちのその期間でのアクセスを容易にするために表示される。したがって、辞書式配列（初期条件）から、システムは経時的にユーザの行為パターンを学習して、特定の時間および位置でユーザが実行する可能性がもっとも高い行為を反映する配列にレンダリングする。
図７は、行為に至るための検索および閲覧ベースナビゲーションがシステムによって学習され、かつより良好なユーザ経験を提供するために最適化される別の例を図示している。ユーザはインクリメンタル検索を実行し（７０１）、選択バンク「ＢＡＮＫＥＸ」の発見につながる「ＢＡＮＫＥ」を入力する。ユーザは次いで、バンク「Ｂ．ＦＩＮＡＮＣＥ」のバンクファイナンス部分を閲覧してから（７０２）、サブメニューより支払いアイテム「ＰＡＹ」を選択する（７０３）。支払いをするという第１のステップはピンエントリである（７０４）。システムが経時的にユーザの行為を学習すると（７０５）、ユーザが費やした労力は、所望のバンク（「ＢＡ」）に至るために使用される文字数と、ユーザが実行する必要のある閲覧行為数の両方において削減される、つまり支払いオプションがバンクに伴って結果に示される。次にユーザはインクリメンタルテキスト検索中に３文字少なく入力する必要があるが、支払いアイテムを選択するために２つのサブメニューを閲覧する必要はない。ユーザが行動する可能性の最も高い子ノードに伴って集合ノードをレンダリングするこの形態はユーザに、さらなる労力なしに両アイテムに対して動作する選択肢を付与する。ユーザは支払いオプションを選択するか、他の全ての選択肢を閲覧するかを選択することができる。
図８は、学習された行動に基づいてユーザのコンテンツスペースを個別化することの基本概念を要約している。コンテンツスペース８０１および発見されたコンテンツ８０２に対する行為によるユーザのナビゲーションはシステムによって学習される。ユーザがノードに対して行為をする度に、ユーザに関する（当該特定の時間および位置の）当該ノードの関連性が変更される。ユーザの観点からのコンテンツ階層の図は、学習されたユーザの行動および好みに一致するように変更される。
［情報階層に対するユーザの関係性に基づいた個別ナビゲーション］
図９は、ユーザ９０４が本階層における特定のレベル、具体的にはレベル２にある企業従業員階層ツリーの例を図示している。Ｔｏｍ Ｄａｌｔｏｎ９０１がレベル０にあり、Ｔｏｍ Ｃｌａｎｃｙ９０２がレベル１にあり、Ｔｏｍ Ｊｏｎｅｓ９０３がレベル２のユーザ９０４の同僚であり、Ｔｏｍ Ｃｒａｗｆｏｒｄ９０５はレベル３のユーザ９０４の直属の部下である。初期条件状態では、会社に属しているか、社内の新たな役職に移るユーザは本発明の利点を享受し、これは組織ツリーを調整して、ユーザ９０４が、このレベルのグループのメンバー、自分の直属の部下やマネージャを容易に発見する助けとなる。ユーザは、インクリメンタル検索の少数の文字のみを入力することによって、あるいは純粋な閲覧検索を使用する最小限のステップによって検索中の人物を容易に発見することができる。
ユーザ９０４が、テキスト、例えば「ＴＯＭ」を入力することによって特定の人物を検索する場合、システムは、階層におけるユーザの位置に関して（複数の）一致する従業員の近似性の降順で結果を自動的に列挙する。しかしながら、学習後、ユーザのノードの直系の下位ノードはユーザの兄弟ノードよりも前に表示されることがあるが、これは、直系の下位は直属の部下である場合もあるからである。加えて、ユーザ９０４がインクリメンタル検索、例えば「ＴＯ」を使用して情報を発見している場合、結果は、１つの一致が集合ノードで表示されている各レベルのクラスターとして異なるノードからの一致によって示されることもある（例えば、レベル１のＴＯＭ ＣＬＡＮＣＹ、レベル３のＴＯＭ ＣＲＡＷＦＯＲＤ、レベル０のＴＯＭ ＤＡＬＴＯＮ）。システムはこれらの集合ノードをナビゲーションするための手段を提供可能であり、ユーザは任意のレベルに迅速に達することができる。ユーザが閲覧手段によってのみツリーをナビゲーションしている場合、ユーザのレベル（または彼の直属の部下）の従業員は、他のレベルが続く集合として最初に列挙されることになる。この形態のナビゲーションは、純粋辞書式配列閲覧ツリーよりもユーザには使いやすい。
ユーザ検索経験もまた、ユーザの反復行為行動に一致するように情報階層を並べ替えることによって、純粋組織化ベースクラスタリングと比較して改良される。例えば、ユーザ９０４は兄弟ノードを反復ナビゲーションして行為を実行する（例えば、Ｔｏｍ Ｊｏｎｅｓ９０３のノードをナビゲーションして電話をかける）場合、ユーザの兄弟の配列は、当該ノードをユーザに近づけることによってこのナビゲーション距離を短縮するように経時的に調整される。このアプローチはまた、任意のレベルの任意のノードに使用可能である。例えば、ユーザ９０４が常にＴｏｍ Ｃｌａｎｃｙ９０２のノードをナビゲーションして電話をかける場合、当該ノードは自身のレベルで並べ替えられてより迅速に現れる。さらに経時的に、階層中で頻繁に訪問されるノードはユーザの自宅ノード９０４に近づくことになる。
企業従業員階層ツリー内のナビゲーションプロセスはテキストベース検索または閲覧ベースナビゲーションであった。経時的に、階層中で頻繁に訪問されるノードは階層内のユーザの自宅ノードに近づくため、検索または閲覧のいずれかによってこれらの発見を容易にすることができる。検索がインクリメンタル検索である場合、経時的個別化は、ノードを発見するのに必要な文字数を削減する。検索が閲覧ベースナビゲーションである場合、経時的個別化は、ノードを発見するのに必要なユーザ選択肢数を削減する。
図１０は、ナビゲーション階層がユーザの行為行動（例えば、対象ノードの発見後に電話をかける）に一致するように並べ替えられる際の時間１００２に伴うナビゲーションシステムの展開を図示している。本発明の一実施形態では、初期条件１００１は、組織階層におけるユーザ位置の「中心となる関連位置」によって開始する。ユーザが階層をナビゲーションし、具体的なコンテンツアイテムを選択すると、階層は、ユーザの関連位置に基準ノードを近づけるように展開する。例えば、上記図４に説明されている方法を使用して、これは、企業階層内のユーザ位置に基づいてナビゲーション階層におけるノードに初期関連性重みを割り当てることによって達成可能である。初期関連性重みは、学習前に、結果が同僚、次いで部下、次いで上司、そして最後に企業階層においてユーザと無関係の人物に戻るように配列されるように割り当て可能である。ユーザがナビゲーション階層からコンテンツアイテムをナビゲーションして選択すると、検索を実行する特定のユーザに関して、特定のノードの関連性重みが増大される。ユーザが後続の検索を実行すると、より関連性重みの高いノードが検索結果で上位に提示される。
本発明の別の実施形態では、関連位置は企業階層の根底に常に留まっており、ユーザの対象ノードはこの根底に持ち上げられてアクセスを容易にする。並べ替え方法はエンタテイメントスペースにおける情報発見にとって有用であり、この場合、ユーザの関心についての事前情報は知られておらず、そのためユーザとコンテンツナビゲーション階層間に演繹的関係性はない。
関連サークルの自動調整に関する別の例は、ユーザが所定のグループの一部である、例えば、ユーザが、Ｙａｈｏｏグループなどのインスタントメッセージンググループやオンラインコミュニティグループのメンバーである場合である。システムは、ユーザに関するグループのメンバーの関連性重みを自動的に増大させる。したがって、関連サークルの調整は、これらのグループへのユーザの参加によってのみシステムによって実行され、ユーザによる明確な行為は必要ない。これは、ユーザが自分の同僚と一緒にグループ化が可能である、またはユーザが、ビルの同じ階にオフィスがある他の全ての従業員と一緒にグループ化が可能である企業設定に類似する。
加えて、システムは、企業階層における従業員に及ぶプロジェクトに対して作成された動的グループを利用することができる。これらの動的に作成されたグループのメンバーはまた、ユーザの「関連位置」に近づく。これらのグループは企業データベースにおいて明確に作成されたであろうし、あるいはこのシステムは、これらの動的グループを発見するために、電子メールアプリケーションのメーリングリストなどの外部アプリケーションとインタフェース接続することもある。動的に作成されたグループが検出されると、再度上記技術を使用して、当該グループのメンバーの関連性重みが、グループのメンバーが結果セットでさらに上位に戻るように調整可能であり、デフォルト企業階層より上位になる。例えば、プロジェクトの新たなメーリングリストが作成された後、当該プロジェクトのメンバーの関連性重みは調整されて、結果は、プロジェクトメンバー、次いで同僚、次いで部下、次いで上司、そして最終的に、企業階層においてユーザと無関係の人物に戻るように配列される。
関連位置やサークルの自動調整はまた、個人の行為に基づいて個人間または個人のグループ間で推移的に適用されることもある。例えば、あるコミュニティにおいて、ＳｕｓｉｅがＢａｒｂａｒａにしばしば電話をし、ＢａｒｂａｒａはＫａｔｅにしばしば電話する場合、ＳｕｓｉｅがＫａｔｅに電話する確率は経時的に増大する。したがって、Ｓｕｓｉｅが検索や閲覧を実行すると、Ｋａｔｅの配列の関連性は増大し、ＳｕｓｉｅはＫａｔｅをより簡単に発見できる。この場合、ＳｕｓｉｅがＢａｒｂａｒａの連絡先情報をナビゲーションして選択する場合、当該ノードの関連性重みは調整される。加えて、Ｂａｒｂａｒａが選択した任意のノード、例えばＫａｔｅの関連性重みもまたＳｕｓｉｅに対して増大される。ＢａｒｂａｒａおよびＫａｔｅ両者の連絡先情報は次に、Ｓｕｓｉｅによる後続の検索について、結果セットの上位に戻されることになる。
本発明の一実施形態では、関連位置もまた、個人のグループによってなされる行為を考慮して、システムによって経時的に調整される。例えば、企業階層における２つのグループのメンバーが互いにしばしば連絡を取り合っている場合（例えば、この場合ユーザによってなされる行為は電話をかけることである）、２つのグループはナビゲーション階層において相互に近づくことになる。したがって、これらのグループの一方のメンバーによって検索が実行される場合、システムは、通信が上位にあったもう一方のグループの人々により高い関連性を付与する。

例えば、ＡｂｌｅとＢａｋｅｒが会計部のメンバーであり、ＣｈａｒｌｉｅとＤａｗｎが税務部のメンバーであり、Ｅｕｇｅｎｅが法務部のメンバーである企業階層について検討する。Ａｂｌｅが定期的にＣｈａｒｌｉｅに電話をかける場合、会計部および税務部はナビゲーション階層において相互に近くなる。ここでは、ＡｂｌｅおよびＣｈａｒｌｉｅのものだけでなく、両部署の全メンバーの関連性重みが調整される。
したがって、Ｂａｋｅｒが企業階層を検索する場合、税務部のメンバーは法務部のメンバーより高い関連を有する。これは、経時的に、２つの部署のメンバー間の連絡、例えばＡｌｂｅとＣｈａｒｌｉｅの連絡、および、両部署の全メンバーの関連性重みに対する付随調整によるものである。
本発明の好ましい実施形態について説明してきたが、本発明の主旨および範囲から逸脱することなく修正可能であることが明らかであるはずである。例えば、ノードの相対的重みは電話帳に関して本明細書で使用されてきた。しかしながら、本発明の実施形態は、複数のジャンルの映画など、任意の形態のノードベースコンテンツスペースについて実施可能である。

Claims (10)

  1. コンテンツアイテムのコレクションを選択および提示するユーザインタフェース方法であって、前記提示が、経時的に学習されたユーザのナビゲーションおよび選択行動に少なくとも部分的に基づいて配列される方法であって、
    コンテンツアイテムのセットを提供することであって、前記コンテンツアイテムが前記ユーザによって所望される確率の相対的基準を示すためにユーザごとに付随関連性重みを有することと、
    前記コンテンツアイテムの情報コンテンツに基づいてコンテンツアイテムの前記セットをグループに組織化することであって、コンテンツアイテムの前記グループが前記ユーザによって所望される確率の相対的基準を示すためにユーザごとに付随関連性重みを有することと、
    初期の付随関連性重みを各コンテンツアイテムおよびコンテンツグループに提供することと、
    前記ユーザによる入力を受信して所望のコンテンツアイテムを識別することと、
    前記ユーザによる前記入力に応答して、コンテンツアイテムのサブセットおよびコンテンツグループをコンテンツアイテムおよびコンテンツグループのナビゲーション可能トポロジーとして前記ユーザに選択および提示することであって、前記コンテンツアイテムおよびコンテンツグループが、少なくとも部分的に前記コンテンツアイテムおよびコンテンツグループに割り当てられている前記初期付随関連性重みによって配列されることと、
    前記ユーザによる入力を受信して、コンテンツアイテムの前記サブセットおよびコンテンツグループの前記トポロジーをナビゲーションし、かつ前記所望のコンテンツアイテムを識別および選択することと、
    前記ユーザによるコンテンツアイテムの選択に応答して、前記コンテンツアイテムを前記ユーザに提示し、前記コンテンツアイテムの前記付随関連性重みを調整し、前記選択されたアイテムを含有するコンテンツアイテムの前記グループの前記付随関連性重みを調整することと、
    前記ユーザによる後続入力の受信に応答して、コンテンツアイテムのサブセットおよびコンテンツグループを前記ユーザに選択および提示することであって、前記コンテンツアイテムおよびコンテンツグループが、少なくとも部分的に、前記コンテンツアイテムおよびコンテンツグループに割り当てられた前記調整済み付随関連性重みによって配列され、より大きな付随関連性重みを有するコンテンツアイテムがコンテンツグループ内のより関連性の高いコンテンツアイテムとして提示され、かつより大きな付随関連性重みを有するコンテンツアイテムのグループがより関連性の高いコンテンツアイテムのグループとして提示されることと、
    を備える方法。
  2. 前記ユーザが前記選択行為を実行したコンテクストを判断することであって、前記コンテクストが、前記ユーザの地理的位置、曜日、日付および時間のうちの少なくとも１つを含むことと、
    前記ユーザ選択行為の前記コンテクストを、前記対応するユーザ選択から学習されたコンテンツアイテムおよびコンテンツアイテムのグループの前記調整済み関連性重みと関連付けることとをさらに備えており、
    前記ユーザが後続入力を入力する前記コンテクストと関連した調整済み関連性重みのみが前記コンテンツアイテムの前記選択および配列に使用される、請求項１に記載の方法。
  3. 前記入力および前記後続入力のうちの少なくとも一方が前記ユーザによって入力制約デバイスに入力される、請求項１に記載の方法。
  4. 前記入力制約デバイスが複数のオーバーロードキーを有しており、前記オーバーロードキーの各々が２つ以上の文字を表す、請求項３に記載の方法。
  5. 前記入力および前記後続入力のうちの少なくとも一方が、電話、ＰＤＡ、コンピュータおよびリモートコントロールのうちの少なくとも１つに前記ユーザによって入力される、請求項１に記載の方法。
  6. コンテンツアイテムの前記サブセットを表示制約デバイスに提示することをさらに備える、請求項１に記載の方法。
  7. 前記表示制約デバイスが、電話、ＰＤＡおよびリモートコントロールのうちの少なくとも１つである、請求項６に記載の方法。
  8. 前記調整済み付随関連性重みが、前記付随関連性重みを調整する前記動作から時間が経つと減衰される、請求項１に記載の方法。
  9. 前記調整済み付随関連性重みが、前記付随関連性重みを調整する前記動作後に発生するユーザ選択肢の数に基づいて減衰される、請求項１に記載の方法。
