Claims (9)

  1. 溶融物質が流れる方向の上流に、固体バッチ物質を導入する区間を含み、液中バーナー及び、前記液中バーナーから気泡が発生する部分でガラスの面に当たる炎を供給している液面バーナーと呼ばれるオーバーヘッド型バーナーを含むことを特徴とするバッチ物質を溶融させる炉。
  2. 液中バーナーが、溶融したガラス中に対流を生じさせている液中バーナーの障壁の一部を形成し、固体バッチ物質が炉の下流端へ進むのを防止していることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の炉。
  3. 障壁の各液中バーナーに別の液面バーナーが付設されていることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の炉。
  4. 障壁内の液中バーナーの数が、少なくとも[L/2Hの80%]の整数部分(ただし、Lは炉の幅であり、Hは炉中に溶融しているガラスの高さである。)に等しいことを特徴とする請求項2又は3に記載の
  5. 溶融物質の流路に沿って液中バーナーの複数の連続的な障壁を含むことを特徴とする請求項2〜4のいずれか1項に記載の炉。
  6. 請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の炉中で溶融を行なうことを特徴とするバッチ物質を溶融させる方法。
  7. 溶融しているガラスの上にバッチ物質を導入してバッチ堆積物を形成し、液中バーナーを前記堆積物の末端に配置することを特徴とする請求項6に記載の方法。
  8. 液面バーナーからのガスが、15m/s以上の速度でガラスの面に到達することを特徴とする請求項6又は7に記載の方法。
  9. 液中バーナーの炎が1800℃を超えていることを特徴とする請求項6〜8のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
