「ハロゲン化イオン供給源」には、臭化物イオン供給源である、臭化アンモニウム[臭化アンモニウム38%、CAS登録番号12124−97]、臭化ナトリウム[臭化ナトリウム、CAS登録番号7647−15−6]、臭化リチウム[臭化リチウム、CAS登録番号7550−35−8]、臭化カルシウム[臭化カルシウム、CAS登録番号7789−41−5]、臭化カリウム[臭化カリウム、CAS登録番号7758−02−3]、 塩化臭素[塩化臭素、CAS登録番号13863−41−7]、臭素[臭素、CAS登録番号7726−95−6]、BCDMH[3−ブロモ−1−クロロ−5,5−ジメチルヒダントイン、CAS登録番号126−06−7]、DBDMH [1,3−ジブロモ−5,5−ジメチルヒダントイン、CAS登録番号77−48−5]、DBNPA[2,2− ジブロモ−3−ニトリロプロミオンアミド、CAS登録番号10222−01−2]、ブロノポール[2−ブロモ−2−ニトロプロパン−l,3−ジオール、CAS登録番号52−51−7]、及び当該分野の当業者に公知のその他の有効な臭素供給源が含まれる。
ハロゲン安定剤には、スルファミン酸、スルファミン酸ナトリウム、スルファミン酸カリウム、サッカリン、ベンゼンスルホンアミド、尿素、アンモニア、チオ尿素、クレアチニン、シアヌル酸、アルキルヒダントイン、モノエタノールアミン、ジエタノールアミン、有機スルホンアミド、ビウレット、有機スルファミン酸、及びメラミンが含まれるとここに定義しているが、これらに限定されない。例示したハロゲン安定剤には、スルファミン酸又は水溶性のスルファミン酸塩が含まれる。水溶性スルファミン酸塩の例は、スルファミン酸ナトリウム又はスルファミン酸カリウムであるが、これらに限定されない。安定剤の濃度範囲は、1リットルにつき約0.01乃至約100mgである。実例の範囲は、1リットルにつき約0.1乃至約50及び約1乃至約10mgである。
臭化物イオン供給源は、水溶性の臭化塩である。使用できる水溶性臭化塩の例は、臭化ナトリウム、臭化カリウム、臭化カルシウム、臭化亜鉛、臭化アンモニウム、臭化リチウム、塩化臭素、臭素、BCDMH、DBDMH、DBNPA、ブロノポール等である。水溶性の臭化塩は、臭化アルカリ金属か臭化アルカリ土類金属である。典型的には、臭化アルカリ金属には、水溶性臭化塩である臭化ナトリウムが含まれる。臭化物の濃度範囲は1リットルにつき0.1乃至1000mgである。実例の範囲は、約30乃至約100及び約1乃至約3mgである。
臭化物イオンに対する安定剤の比率は、過度の安定化を避けると同時に効果的な生物付着制御を提供するように選択される。これは、臭化物イオン約0.01乃至約100モルに対して、約1モルの安定剤のモル比率を意味している。実例のモル比率は、臭化物イオン約1乃至約10モルに対して、約1モルの安定剤である。この範囲に含まれるのが、臭化物イオン約1乃至約3モルに対して、約1モルの安定剤の範囲内のモル比率である。
塩素投与量と残留酸化物濃度は、要求量と生物付着を制御するのに必要な残留物とに基づいて変化する。残留酸化物濃度は、1リットルにつき約10mg乃至1リットルにつき0mgの範囲にすべきである。実例の残留酸化物濃度は、1リットルにつき約5乃至約0.1mgの範囲である。残留酸化物濃度についての更なる実例の範囲は、1リットルにつき2mg乃至1リットルにつき約0.2mgの範囲である。
ハロゲン酸化剤のモニタリング方法には、DPD、電流滴定、FACS、酸化還元電位(ORP)等がある。
商業ビル上で操作する27,000ガロンの開循環冷却水システム(pH8.8)で、殺菌プログラムとして、次亜塩素酸ナトリウムと臭化ナトリウムの組合せを用いた。塩素酸化剤及び臭化物は、冷却システムへ投与される直前にモル比Cl2:Brを4:1で混和した。塩素酸化剤と臭化物との組合せは、約0.1mg/Lの残留酸化物を維持するように冷却水システムに投与し、Hach CL17塩素アナライザ(Hach Company社,ラブランド,コロラド州)を用いて制御した。
又、制御試験も行って、塩素処理冷却水システム中の、塩素酸化剤の消費量、酸化剤が誘発する腐食、酸化剤減少制御での臭化ナトリウム及びスルファミン酸ナトリウムの効果を測定した。
1.次亜塩素酸ナトリウム(NaOCl)のみ
2.NaOCl及び臭化ナトリウム(NaBr)
3.NaOCl及びNaBr+スルファミン酸ナトリウム
Claims (6)
- 生物付着制御システムであって:
(a)塩素酸化剤を具える第1の組成と;
(b)ハロゲン化物イオン源とハロゲン安定剤を具え、前記ハロゲン化物イオンが塩化物イオンではない条件を有する第2の組成と;
を具えるシステムにおいて、当該システムが、前記第1の組成と前記第2の組成を別々に投与することにより、工業用水における経済的な生物付着制御方法を提供することを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項1に記載のシステムにおいて、前記ハロゲン化物イオンが臭化物イオンであることを特徴とするシステム。
- 工業用水における生物付着の制御方法であって、当該方法が:
(a)前記塩素酸化剤の濃度をモニタリングする少なくとも1又はそれ以上の方法を提供するステップと;
(b)塩素酸化剤供給源を提供するステップと;
(c)ハロゲン安定剤とハロゲン化物イオン供給源の混合物を提供するステップと;
(d)ステップ(b)で同定した塩素酸化剤供給源をある速度で、かつ濃度範囲を達成するのに十分な量で添加するステップと;
(e)組成(c)を前記ハロゲン安定剤の濃度範囲を達成するのに十分な量で個別に添加するステップと;
を具えることを特徴とする方法。 - 工業用水における生物付着の制御方法であって、当該方法が:
(a)前記塩素酸化剤の濃度をモニタリングする少なくとも1又はそれ以上の方法を提供するステップと;
(b)前記ハロゲン安定剤の濃度をモニタリングする少なくとも1又はそれ以上の方法を提供するステップと;
(c)塩素酸化剤供給源を提供するステップと;
(d)ハロゲン安定剤とハロゲン化物イオン供給源の混合物を提供するステップと;
(e)ステップ(a)及び(b)で同定した前記モニタ濃度を、処理するシステムによって事前決定した濃度範囲と比較するステップと;
(f)ステップ(c)で同定した塩素酸化剤供給源をある速度で、かつ濃度範囲を達成するのに十分な量で添加するステップと;
(g)組成(d)を前記ハロゲン安定剤の濃度範囲を達成するのに十分な量で個別に添加するステップと;
を具えることを特徴とする方法。 - 工業用水における生物付着の制御方法であって、当該方法が:
(a)前記塩素酸化剤の濃度をモニタリングする少なくとも1又はそれ以上の方法を提供するステップと;
(b)塩素酸化剤供給源を提供するステップと;
(c)ハロゲン安定剤とハロゲン化物イオン供給源の混合物を提供するステップと;
(d)塩素酸化剤(b)をある速度で、かつ殺菌有効範囲を達成するのに十分な量で添加するステップと;
(d)組成(c)をハロゲン化物イオン供給源に対する塩素酸化剤のモル比を達成するように、個別に添加するステップと;
を具えることを特徴とする方法。 - 工業用水における生物付着の制御方法であって、当該方法が:
(a)前記塩素酸化剤の濃度をモニタリングする少なくとも1又はそれ以上の方法を提供するステップと;
(b)前記ハロゲン安定剤の濃度をモニタリングする少なくとも1又はそれ以上の方法を提供するステップと;
(c)塩素酸化剤供給源を提供するステップと;
(d)ハロゲン安定剤とハロゲン化物イオン供給源の混合物を提供するステップと;
(e)塩素酸化剤(c)をある速度で、かつ殺菌有効範囲を達成するのに十分な量で添加するステップと;
(f)組成(d)をハロゲン化物イオン供給源に対する塩素酸化剤のモル比を達成するように、個別に添加するステップと;
を具えることを特徴とする方法。
