Abstract
【解決手段】一実施形態において、本装置は、プロセッサと、適応的ビーム形成を使用してコンテンツを送信するためにプロセッサに接続されて制御されるディジタル制御位相アレイアンテナを有する無線周波(RF)送信器と、プロセッサに接続された無線通信チャネルとのインタフェースとを有し、位相アレイアンテナの使用に関するアンテナ情報を伝達し、他の場所におけるコンテンツの再生を促進する情報を伝達する。

Description
図1は、通信システムの一実施形態についてのブロック構成図である。図1によれば、本システムは、メディア受信器100、メディア受信器インタフェース102、送信デバイス140、受信デバイス141、メディアプレーヤーインタフェース113、メディアプレーヤー114、及びディスプレイ115からなる。
図2は、図1における送信器デバイス140と受信器デバイス141とを含む、適応的ビーム形成マルチアンテナ無線システムの一実施形態を示すブロック構成図である。トランシーバー200は、複合的で独立した送信及び受信チェインを有している。トランシーバー200は、同一のRF信号を取得する位相アンテナを使用して位相アレイビーム形成を実施し、そのアレイにおける1又は複数のアンテナ要素に対する位相をシフトし、ビーム操作を実現する。
一実施形態において、DSPは、ハードウェアに実装されるビーム形成重みを伴った適応的アルゴリズムを実施する。つまり、送信器及び受信器は協調動作し、ディジタル制御されたアナログ位相シフタを使用してRF周波数においてビーム形成を実行する。しかしながら、代替的な実施形態においては、このビーム形成はIFにおいて実行される。位相シフタ2050-N及び2110-Nは、制御チャネル208及び制御チャネル217を介し、既知の技術方法に基づきそれぞれのDSPによって、それぞれ制御される。例えば、DSP201は位相シフタ1050-Nを制御して送信器に適応的ビーム形成を行わせてビームを操作し、一方で、DSP211は位相シフタ2110-Nを制御してアンテナ要素へ指向し、アンテナ要素からの無線送信を受信し、異なる要素からの信号を結合し、単一ラインフィード出力を形成する。一実施形態においては、マルチプレクサは、異なる要素からの信号を結合するために使用されて、単一フィードラインを出力する。

Claims (53)
- プロセッサと、
適応的ビーム形成を使用してコンテンツを送信するために、前記プロセッサに接続され、かつ制御されるディジタル制御位相アレイアンテナを有する無線周波(RF)送信器と、
前記位相アレイアンテナの使用に関するアンテナ情報を伝達し、かつ他の場所における前記コンテンツの再生を促進するための情報を伝達するために前記プロセッサに接続された無線通信チャネルに対するインタフェースと、
を備えたことを特徴とする装置。 - 前記コンテンツの再生を促進するための情報は、コンテンツ保護情報を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記コンテンツ保護情報は、前記プロセッサによって送信された暗号化キーからなる1又は複数のグループと、前記プロセッサから受信した1又は複数の暗号化キーの受信器からの1又は複数の受取通知とからなることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記プロセッサは、前記位相アレイアンテナが初期化されているときは、前記無線通信チャネルインタフェースを介して情報を受信し、前記プロセッサが前記位相アレイアンテナによって形成されたビームを向ける方向を選択できるようにし、前記コンテンツが送信されているモードにおいて前記位相アレイアンテナが作動しているときは、前記コンテンツの受信器に対するRF送信器から通信経路の状態の指示を受信する
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記位相アレイアンテナによって形成されるビームを向ける方向を選択することを前記プロセッサに可能とさせる前記情報は、アンテナ位置情報と前記アンテナ位置情報に対応する作動情報とからなることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の装置。
- 前記アンテナ位置情報及び作動情報は、アンテナ位置及び該アンテナ位置に対するチャンネルの信号強さを含む1又は複数の対からなることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記位相アレイアンテナによって形成されるビームを向ける方向を選択することを前記プロセッサに可能とさせる前記情報は、前記プロセッサによって使用される1又は複数のチャネルを識別する情報からなることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の装置。
- 前記RF送信器からの通信ステータスの指示は、他の方向に前記ビームを向けることを前記プロセッサに促す指示からなることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の装置。
- 他の方向に前記ビームを向けることを前記プロセッサに促す指示は、前記コンテンツの一部の伝達とのインタフェースに対する反応において生成されることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の装置。
- 他の方向に前記ビームを向けることを前記プロセッサに促す指示は、1又は複数の代替チャネルを特定する情報を含むことを特徴とする請求項8に記載の装置。
- 前記アンテナ情報は、前記コンテンツを受信する受信器の1又は複数の特性を特定する情報を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記無線通信チャネルは、双方向であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記アンテナ情報は前記プロセッサによって送信された情報を含み、前記コンテンツを受信することを指示された受信器がそれ自体を指向するものとなっている位置を特定することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記位置は、前記受信器を示す位置を特定し、予め定められた位置順序における次の位置にそれ自体を指向することを特徴とする請求項13に記載の装置。
- 前記アンテナ情報は、1又は複数のチャネルの品質と、異なる位置へ前記ビームを向けるためのプロセッサに対するコンテンツ受信器からの指示とを示すことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記プロセッサは、前記位相アレイアンテナへディジタル制御情報を送信し、前記位相アレイアンテナにおける1又は複数の位相シフタのシフト量を示すことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記ディジタル制御情報は、1組の係数からなることを特徴とする請求項16に記載の装置。
- 前記プロセッサは、ディジタル信号プロセッサからなる請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記プロセッサは、ベースバンド信号を生成することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記ベースバンド信号は、直交周波数分割多重(OFDM)信号であることを特徴とする請求項19に記載の装置。
- ベースバンド信号を第1の周波数でアナログ信号へ変換するディジタル−アナログ変換器と、
前記アナログ信号を局所オシレータからの信号と混成して第1の周波数よりも高い第2の周波数を伴った調整アナログ信号を生成するためのミキサーとをさらに含み、
前記調整アナログ信号は前記位相アレイアンテナへ送信されてそれによって伝送されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記位相アレイアンテナは、
前記調整アナログ信号を受信するために接続されるデマルチプレクサと、
前記プロセッサからの制御信号に基づいて前記調整アナログ信号の前記位相をシフトするために前記デマルチプレクサに接続された複数の位相シフタと、
複数の増幅器であって、その複数の増幅器の各々は複数の位相シフタにおける1つの出力に接続されている複数の増幅器と、
その各々は複数の増幅器における1つの出力に接続されている複数のアンテナと

- 前記コンテンツはDVI標準に準拠したものであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。

を備えたことを特徴とする装置。 - 前記コンテンツの再生を促進するための情報は、コンテンツ保護情報を含むことを特徴とする請求項26に記載の装置。
- 前記コンテンツ保護情報は、前記送信器によって送信された暗号化キーからなる1又は複数のグループと、前記送信器から受信した1又は複数の暗号化キーの受信器からの1又は複数の受取通知とからなることを特徴とする請求項27に記載の装置。
- 前記プロセッサは、前記位相アレイアンテナが初期化されているときは、前記無線通信チャネルインタフェースを介して情報を送信し、前記送信器が前記位相アレイアンテナによって形成されたビームを向ける方向を選択できるようにし、コンテンツが送信されているモードにおいて前記位相アレイアンテナが作動しているときは、前記インタフェースを介して前記位相アレイアンテナによって受信されると同時に通信ステータス指示を送信する
ことを特徴とする請求項26に記載の装置。 - 前記位相アレイアンテナによって形成されるビームを向ける方向を選択することを前記送信器に可能とさせる前記情報は、アンテナ位置情報と前記アンテナ位置情報に対応する作動情報とからなることを特徴とする請求項29に記載の装置。
- 前記アンテナ位置情報及び作動情報は、アンテナ位置及び該アンテナ位置に対するチャンネルの信号強さを含む1又は複数の対からなることを特徴とする請求項30に記載の装置。
- 前記位相アレイアンテナによって形成されるビームを向ける方向を選択することを前記送信器に可能とさせる前記情報は、前記送信器によって使用される1又は複数のチャネルを識別する情報からなることを特徴とする請求項29に記載の装置。
- 前記送信器と前記RF受信器との間の通信ステータスの指示は、他の方向に前記ビームを向けることを前記送信器に促す指示からなることを特徴とする請求項29に記載の装置。

- 前記ディジタル制御情報は、1組の係数からなることを特徴とする請求項41に記載の装置。
- 前記プロセッサは、ディジタル信号プロセッサからなる請求項26に記載の装置。
- 前記位相アレイアンテナからの信号は、ベースバンド信号として前記プロセッサによって処理されることを特徴とする請求項26に記載の装置。
- 前記ベースバンド信号は、直交周波数分割多重(OFDM)信号であることを特徴とする請求項44に記載の装置。
