Abstract
【解決手段】陽極と陰極と、該陽極と該陰極との間に活性層を有し、該活性層と該陰極との間に機能層を有し、二酸化チタン粒子が分散した分散液を塗布することにより該機能層が形成される光電変換素子。二酸化チタン粒子の粒子径が10μm以下であることが好ましく、分散液のpHが1〜7であることが好ましく、二酸化チタン粒子の電気伝導度が0.01ms/cm以上であることが好ましい。また、活性層と陽極との間に有機層を有していてもよい。

Description
なお、本発明において二酸化チタン粒子の粒子径が10μm以下とは、分散液中に含まれる実質的に全ての二酸化チタン粒子の粒子径が10μm以下であることを表す。機能層を構成する二酸化チタン粒子は、結晶構造を有する粒子である。
従って、光電変換素子は通常は、電子受容性化合物及び電子供与性化合物を含有する。本発明の活性層は、電子受容性化合物及び/又は電子供与性化合物を含有する。電子受容性化合物と電子供与性化合物の比率は電子受容性化合物100重量部に対し電子供与性化合物は10000重量部から1重量部が好ましく、更に好ましくは電子受容性化合物100重量部に対し、電子供与性化合物は1000重量部から10重量部であり、より好ましくは電子受容性化合物100重量部に対し、電子供与性化合物は500重量部から100重量部である。
1.陽極と陰極と、該陽極と該陰極との間に電子受容性化合物を含有する第一の活性層と、該第一の活性層に隣接して設けられた電子供与性化合物を含有する第二の活性層と、該陰極と該第一の活性層との間に該陰極に隣接して設けられた機能層とを有する光電変換素子;
2.陽極と陰極と、該陽極と該陰極との間に電子受容性化合物を含有する第一の活性層と、該第一の活性層に隣接して設けられた電子供与性化合物を含有する第二の活性層と、該陰極と該第二の活性層との間に該陰極に隣接して設けられた機能層とを有する有機光電変換素子;
3.陽極と陰極と、該陽極と該陰極との間に電子受容性化合物及び電子供与性化合物を含有する活性層と、該陰極と該活性層との間に該陰極に隣接して設けられた機能層とを有する有機光電変換素子;
4.陽極と陰極と、該陽極と該陰極との間に電子受容性化合物及び電子供与性化合物を含有する活性層と、該陽極と該活性層との間に該陽極に隣接して設けられた有機層と、該陰極と該活性層との間に該陰極と隣接して設けられた機能層とを有する有機光電変換素子;
5.陽極と陰極と、該陽極と該陰極との間に電子受容性化合物及び電子供与性化合物を含有する活性層と、該陰極と該活性層との間に該陰極に隣接して設けられた機能層とを有する有機光電変換素子であって、該電子受容性化合物がフラーレン誘導体である有機光電変換素子;
6.陽極と陰極と、該陽極と該陰極との間に電子受容性化合物及び電子供与性化合物を含有する活性層と、該陽極と該活性層との間に該陽極に隣接して設けられた有機層と、該陰極と該活性層との間に該陰極と隣接して設けられた機能層とを有する光電変換素子であって、該電子受容性化合物がフラーレン誘導体である有機光電変換素子;
また、前記5.前記6.の光電変換素子では、フラーレン誘導体及び電子供与性化合物を含有する活性層におけるフラーレン誘導体の割合が、電子供与性化合物100重量部に対して、10〜1000重量部であることが好ましく、50〜500重量部であることがより好ましい。
共役高分子化合物であるポリ(3−ヘキシルチオフェン)(P3HT)(メルク社製、商品名lisicon SP001、lot.EF431002)を電子供与体化合物として5重量部、フラーレン誘導体として15重量部の[6,6]−フェニルC61−酪酸メチルエステル(PCBM)(フロンティアカーボン社製E100)、溶媒として1000重量部のo−ジクロロベンゼンとを混合した。70℃で2時間撹拌を行なった後、孔径1.0μmのテフロン(登録商標)フィルターで濾過して組成物1を調整した。
スパッタ法により陰極として150nmの厚みでITO膜を付けたガラス基板に、機能層として二酸化チタン粒子と分散剤とが分散した分散液(触媒化成工業株式会社製、商品名チタニアゾルHPW−10R)をスピンコート法により塗布し、室温で乾燥させることにより厚さ70nmの機能層を得た。塗布は室温で、大気雰囲気下において4000rpm、60secでスピンコート法にて行った。乾燥は大気中、室温にて約10分程度静置させることにより行った。なおこのときの導電性は24mS/cmであった。なお、分散液中の二酸化チタンの粒子径は8〜13nmであり、二酸化チタンの電気伝導度は24.6mS/cmであり、分散液中の溶媒は水であり、分散液のpHは1.3であった。その後、前記組成物1を、スピンコート法により機能層上に塗布し、光電変換素子の活性層(膜厚約100nm)を形成した。その後、HIL691溶液(Plextronics社製、商品名Plexcore HIL691)をスピンコート法により活性層上に塗布し、有機層(膜厚約50nm)を形成した。その後、真空蒸着機により陽極としてAuを厚さが100nmとなるように蒸着した。また、得られた光電変換素子である有機薄膜太陽電池の形状は、2mm×2mmの正方形であった。得られた有機薄膜太陽電池の光電変換効率をソーラシミュレーター(分光計器製、商品名:CEP−2000型、放射照度100mW/cm2)を用いて一定の光を照射し、発生する電流と電圧を測定した。光電変換効率は1.5%であった。
スパッタ法により陰極として150nmの厚みでITO膜を付けたガラス基板に、Advanced Materials、18巻(2006)、572〜576頁に記載の方法で酸化チタン(TiOx)(1<x<2)層を形成した。即ち、チタン(IV)イソプロポキシド(Ti〔OCH(CH3)2〕4)10mlと2−メトキシエタノール50ml、エタノールアミン5mlを3つ口フラスコ中でアルゴンを流しながら80℃で2時間攪拌混合した後、更に120℃で1時間攪拌混合することにより得た。また加熱にはオイルバスを用いた。前記作製法により得たTiOxを含む分散液をスピンコート法により塗布し、室温で乾燥させることにより厚さ70μmの酸化チタン層を得た。その後、前記組成物1を、スピンコート法により酸化チタン層上に塗布し、光電変換素子の活性層(膜厚約100nm)を得た。その後、HIL691溶液(Plextronics社製、商品名Plexcore HIL691)をスピンコート法により活性層上に塗布し、有機層(膜厚約50nm)を得た。その後、真空蒸着機により陽極としてAuを厚さが100nmとなるように蒸着した。また、得られた光電変換素子である有機薄膜太陽電池の形状は、2mm×2mmの正方形であった。得られた有機薄膜太陽電池の光電変換効率をソーラシミュレーター(分光計器製、商品名CEP−2000型、放射照度100mW/cm2)を用いて一定の光を照射し、発生する電流と電圧を測定した。光電変換効率は0.4%であった。
Claims (10)
- 陽極と陰極と、該陽極と該陰極との間に活性層を有し、該活性層と該陰極との間に機能層を有し、二酸化チタン粒子が分散した分散液を塗布することにより該機能層が形成される光電変換素子。
- 二酸化チタン粒子の粒子径が10μm以下である請求項1に記載の光電変換素子。
- 分散液のpHが1〜7である請求項1又は2に記載の光電変換素子。
- 二酸化チタン粒子の電気伝導度が0.01ms/cm以上である請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の光電変換素子。
- 活性層と陽極との間に有機層を有する請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の光電変換素子。
- 有機層が高分子化合物を含む請求項5に記載の光電変換素子。
- 機能層の一方の面が活性層と接触し、機能層の他の面が陰極と接触している請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の光電変換素子。
- 有機層の一方の面が活性層と接触し、有機層の他の面が陽極と接触している請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の光電変換素子。
- 活性層がフラーレン誘導体と高分子化合物とを含む請求項1〜8のいずれかに記載の光電変換素子。
- 陰極上に二酸化チタン粒子が分散した分散液を塗布することにより機能層を形成する工程と、該機能層上に活性層を形成する工程と、該活性層上に陽極を形成する工程とを含む光電変換素子の製造方法。
