- バックライトにより照らされる、単一ビューを表示する透過型表示装置と、
単一ビューにより変調された光を、縮小された角度範囲に集中させる光学システムと、
ディスプレイに対する観察者の方向を判断し、バックライトからの照明の上記角度範囲を屈折させることで上記角度範囲が上記判断された方向を含むように、上記表示装置と上記光学システムとの少なくとも一つを制御する判断システムと
を備えている単一ビューディスプレイ。 - 上記判断システムは、上記判断された方向を含めるために、上記角度範囲により示された角度を変化させるよう、上記表示装置および上記光学システムの少なくとも一つを制御するように構成され、
上記角度範囲は、好ましくはディスプレイ軸と略対称的である、請求項1に記載のディスプレイ。 - 上記角度範囲の上記角度は、上記ディスプレイ軸を含む第一面内において可変であり、好ましくは、上記ディスプレイ軸を含み、上記第一面と垂直な第二面内において可変である、請求項2に記載のディスプレイ。

- 上記バックライトは、位置および/または大きさが制御可能であり、上記光学システムの後方に配されている広範な光源および孔を有する反射板を備えている、請求項1〜14のいずれか一つに記載のディスプレイ。
- 上記反射板は、
少なくとも一つのコレステリック液晶セルと、
制御可能な四分の一波長板および反射コレステリック偏光板と、
第一および第二反射直線偏光板の間に配された制御可能な二分の一波長板と、
エレクトロクロミックミラーとのうちの一つを備えている、請求項16に記載のディスプレイ。 - 上記バックライトは、上記視準光学システムの後方に配される、別々に制御可能な複数の独立した光源を備えており、
上記視準光学システムは、好ましくはフレネルレンズを少なくとも一つを備えている、請求項11に記載のディスプレイ。 - 上記バックライトは、上記レンズの後方に配される、制御可能な光抽出機構を有する光導波路を備えている、請求項12に記載のディスプレイ。
- 上記バックライトは、広範な光源と、固定孔を有する反射板と、上記光学システムに対応して反射板を動かす作動装置とを備えている、請求項11または12に記載のディスプレイ。
- 上記バックライトが、広範な光源とレンズアレイとを備え、上記光学システムが光ステアリング構成を備え、
上記光ステアリング構成は、好ましくはエレクトロウェッティングレンズ構成とエレクトロウェッティングプリズム構成とのいずれか一つを備えている、請求項1〜14のいずれか一つに記載のディスプレイ。 - 請求項1〜21のいずれか一つに記載のディスプレイを電力消費量を削減するために用いる表示方法。
