Abstract

【課題】ユーザの推定された要求条件、情報及び／又は環境に対するアクセス権が、ウェブページをユーザのブラウザに提示する際に考慮されるシステム及び方法を提供する。
【解決手段】病院等の機関のための情報システムは、イントラネットを介し各種タイプのブラウザによりアクセス可能なウェブサーバを有し、ウェブサーバは、各ユーザの患者記録へのアクセス権を格納するアクセス権・セキュリティデータベースと、ユーザの嗜好、属性及びプロファイルを格納するユーザニーズ・嗜好・利用プロファイルデータベースと、ブラウザからリクエストを受信し、ユーザがアクセス権を有するリクエストされた患者記録を抽出するスクリプトサーバと、ユーザの嗜好、プロファイル及び属性と、ブラウザ能力、特性及びネットワーク接続情報とに従ってフォーマット化された抽出された記録を表示するウェブページを動的に生成する動的ウェブページモジュールとを有する。

Description

本発明は、ネットワークと、ウェブブラウザを動作させるユーザ機器によりネットワークを介してアクセスすることができる少なくとも一つのウェブサーバとを含む情報システムに関する。本発明は、また、ユーザ要求に応答してネットワークを介してウェブサーバからユーザ側のウェブブラウザにコンテンツを提供する方法に関する。
本発明は、特定の面において、ユーザ毎に個人化されたウェブ若しくはハイパーテキストページ、及び／又は、他のデータオブジェクトを提供するウェブシステム又はウェブサイトに関する。本発明は、病院又は同様の機関によって維持され、イントラネットという名称で知られている組織内ネットワークにおける個人化を取り扱うが、本発明は、別の状況におけるイントラネット、組織間ネットワーク、及び、インターネットとして知られている本質的に全域的なネットワークを介してアクセスすることができるワールドワイドウェブ（ＷＷＷ）にも適用可能である。
イントラネットは、インターネット標準及びプロトコルに基づく組織内情報ネットワークである。ワールドワイドウェブツールは、健康ケア従業者が、病院又は他の患者介護施設内の多数のソースからのデータに殆ど直接アクセスすることができる理想的な統合的解決策である。医療記録、実験結果、画像、注解、転写された報告書、及び、運用手引きについての容易かつ一律のアクセスは、ユーザのコンピュータ又は他のウェブブラウザ能力を有する機器によって、ウェブサーバからイントラネットを介して得ることができる。しかし、推定された要求条件、公表された関心事、コンピュータベース患者記録（ＣＰＲ）への適切なアクセスレベル、及び、ユーザの物理的環境や機器環境は、施設内で著しく変わる。
従来の個人化システムは、ユーザを公表及び／又は登録された関心のある話題に適合させるが、ユーザの専門的な職種及び担当業務から推定される要求条件、ＣＰＲへのアクセスレベル、並びに、機器環境を考慮していない。
本発明の目的は、ウェブサーバがネットワークを介してウェブブラウザによってアクセスされ得るシステム及び方法であって、ユーザの推定された要求条件、及び／又は、情報及び／又は環境に対するアクセス権が、ウェブページをユーザのウェブブラウザに提示する際に考慮されるシステム及び方法を提供することである。
上記及び他の目的は、サーバにアクセスできるように供給若しくは記憶された、サーバとユーザ機器との間の少なくとも最小帯域幅のリンクを表すユーザの機器環境情報を考慮して、ユーザに関して個人化されたコンテンツを動的に生成する手段を含むサーバによって実現される。これにより、ダウンロードのための待ち時間並びにサーバロードのための待ち時間が制限される。好ましくは、サーバ１２は、画像サイズ（フル解像度又は削減された解像度）、並びに、リンク帯域幅及びクライアント機器１４に対する伝送圧縮（無し、無損失、損失のある／品質）を個人化し、その結果として、ユーザは低速コネクションの場所で大量の転送を待つ必要がなくなる。これは、ビデオファイル及びサウンドファイルに適用される。
好ましい実施例において、ウェブページは、ユーザのコンピュータの性能、及び／又は、ディスプレイ特性、及び／又は、ブラウザ性能、及び／又は、物理的場所特性に基づいて動的に作成される。コンテンツは、組織におけるユーザの役割、及び／又は、ユーザの機関又は患者に対する関係、及び／又は、情報アクセス特権に依存する。
上記及び他の目的は、サーバにアクセスできるように提供又は記憶された、少なくとも組織内でのユーザの役割を表すユーザ要求条件情報を考慮して、ユーザに関して個人化されたコンテンツを動的に生成する手段を含むサーバによって実現される。好ましい実施例において、ウェブページは、ユーザの機関若しくは患者に対する関係、及び／又は、情報アクセス特権に基づいて動的に作成される。コンテンツは、サーバとユーザ機器との間の最小帯域幅のリンク、ユーザのコンピュータの性能、及び／又は、ディスプレイ特性、及び／又は、ブラウザ性能、及び／又は、物理的場所特性に依存する。
上記及び他の目的は、ユーザ要求に応答してネットワークを介してウェブサーバからウェブブラウザにコンテンツを提供する段階を含む方法であって、
記憶されたユーザの個人化情報を保持し、
コンテンツ要求を発行した各個別のユーザに適用可能な個人化情報を関連付けし、
関連付けられた個人化情報を考慮して、要求に応じて与えられたコンテンツを動的に生成する段階を含み、
上記個人化情報はウェブサーバとユーザのウェブブラウザとの間の最小帯域幅のリンクを含む、方法によって実現される。
個人化情報は、ユーザのコンピュータの性能、及び／又は、ディスプレイ特性、及び／又は、ブラウザ性能、及び／又は、物理的場所特性を含む。
上記及び他の目的は、ユーザ要求に応じてネットワークを介してウェブサーバからユーザのウェブブラウザにコンテンツを提供する段階を含む方法であって、
記憶されたユーザの個人化情報を保持し、
コンテンツ要求を発行した各個別のユーザに適用可能な個人化情報を関連付けし、
関連付けられた個人化情報を考慮して、要求に応じて与えられたコンテンツを動的に生成する段階を含み、
上記個人化情報は少なくとも組織内のユーザの役割を示すユーザ要求条件情報を含む、方法によって実現される。
このため、ウェブサーバはユーザ及びユーザの環境に関する情報を供給される必要がある。この情報は、ウェブ形式、要求側クライアントのＩＰアドレスの自動検出、サーバ・ブラウザ通信、スマートカード、及び／又は、アクティブバッジ(active badge)を用いて得ることができる。ユーザの好み、ユーザの物理的及びコンピュータ環境、並びに、利用状況プロファイルに関する情報はサーバ側に記憶することができる。サーバは個人化されたコンテンツを発生させるためこの情報を全て使用する。
本発明の他の目的、特徴及び利点は、添付図面を参照して以下の詳細な説明を読むことにより明らかになる。
図１は、本発明による個人化されたウェブサーバを含むウェブシステムを示すブロック図である。 図２は、図１の個人化されたウェブサーバが作成するウェブページを個人化するために個人化情報を使用する態様を示すフローチャートである。
図１を参照するに、病院又は他のケア施与機関のイントラネット用ウェブシステム１０が示されている。ウェブシステム１０は、本発明に従って個人化された、後述する個人化手段２０乃至２８を含むウェブサーバ１２と、同図において１台が全体的に符号１４で示された複数のユーザ若しくはクライアントコンピュータ又はウェブブラウザを開くことができる他の装置とを有する。ユーザウェブブラウザ稼働機器１４及びウェブサーバ１２は、一般的に符号１６で示されたネットワークパスを介して双方向通信のため連結される。ネットワークパスは、実際上、関連した帯域幅又はデータレートを有する一つ以上のワイヤレス若しくはワイヤドネットワークリンクによって実現される。ユーザの機器としては、ハイエンド及びローエンドのコンピュータワークステーションと、ラップトップ形、ノートブック形若しくはパープトップ形コンピュータと、パーソナルディジタルアシスタント（ＰＤＡ）と、ウェブブラウザのための別個のボックスが設けられたテレビジョンとを含むいかなるタイプのウェブブラウザ許可装置でも構わない。ユーザには、病院の医師若しくは従業員、患者、又は、来訪者が含まれる。
パス１６を経由した通信は、ハイパーテキスト転送プロトコル（ＨＴＴＰ）を用いるユーザ機器１４からの要求及びサーバ１２からの応答を含み、ハイパーテキスト転送プロトコルサービスを提供するオペレーティングレイヤ、即ち、サーバ１４のモジュール１８を呼び出す。特に、ユーザ機器１４は、ハイパーテキストマークアップ言語（ＨＴＭＬ）で記述された特定のウェブページ、及び、（グラフィックス、オーディオクリップ、ビデオクリップ若しくは映画、及び、他のファイルのような）別のデータオブジェクトのダウンロードを従来の方法で要求する。ウェブサーバからの応答は、特に個人化されたウェブページ及び／又はデータオブジェクトが与えられた場合、サーバスクリプト２２を用いてレイヤ又はモジュール２０で作成される。サーバスクリプト２２は、サーバのファイルシステム又は（アクセス特権及びセキュリティに関する）データベース２４、（環境プロファイルに関する）データベース２６、並びに、（ユーザ要求条件、好み、及び、利用状況フロファイル）に関するデータベース２８に保持された個人化情報を利用する。
特に、サーバスクリプト２２は、ユーザアクセス特権、ユーザの好み、利用状況記録、及び、環境プロファイルを検査する。特定の患者に対する要求の場合、その特定の患者に対するアクセス制御も検査される。その結果として、コンピュータベースド患者記録（ＣＰＲ）情報を獲得するルール、及び、ウェブページを作成するルールが得られる。スクリプトは、ＣＰＲ情報をフィルタに通し、抽出し、処理する。ＣＰＲ情報は、ピクチャー・アーカイブ及び通信システム（ＰＡＣＳ）、病院情報システム（ＨＩＳ）、放射線情報システム（ＲＩＳ）、ラボラトリ・システム、集中治療ユニット（ＩＣＵ）システム、調剤システム等のＣＰＲデータベース３０に配布される。次に、スクリプトは、動的なサーバウェブページを作成する。ウェブサーバは動的ウェブページをクライアントウェブブラウザに返信する。
サーバの応答を個人化するために必要若しくは有用な情報は、ユーザ属性、ユーザ特権、コンピュータ特性及びネットワークコネクション、ディスプレイ特性、ブラウザ性能、並びに、場所特性を含む。これらの個々の情報について以下に説明する。
ユーザ属性：
ユーザ属性は、ユーザの機関若しくは特定の患者に対する関係、並びに、ある種の関心事及び好みを表す。ユーザ属性は、職員、患者及び来訪者のカテゴリに分類され、小カテゴリは以下の通りである。
・職員（医師（部門、職能、専門、関心、教育、セキュリティレベル、好みのブラウザ、など）、看護婦（部門、職能、専門、関心、教育、情報アクセス権限、好みのブラウザ、など）、管理者（部門、職能、関心、など））
・患者（入院患者、外来患者、部門／科（内科、ＥＲ、心臓病、など）、好みのブラウザ）
・来訪者（行き先の患者、初回、定期的、など）
ユーザ特権：
ユーザ特権は以下のカテゴリに構造化される。
・書き込みアクセス
・読み出しアクセス
・全患者のＣＰＲについての完全な閲覧
・一部の患者のＣＰＲに関する完全な閲覧
・ＣＰＲに関する最小限の閲覧
・ＣＰＲに関する閲覧不可
コンピュータ特性及びネットワークコネクション：
コンピュータ特性及びコンピュータ環境のネットワーク環境面は、以下のカテゴリに構造化され、小カテゴリは次の通りである。
・タイプ（ＳＵＮ（Ultra 1、Sparc 20、など）、ＰＣ（Pentium（登録商標）、486、など）、Ｍａｃ、など）
・オペレーティングシステム（ＵＮＩＸ（登録商標）（ＵＮＩＸ（登録商標）風）、Ｗｉｎｄｏｗｓ（登録商標）（９５、ＮＴ、３．１）、ＭａｃＯＳ）

ディスプレイ特性：
コンピュータ環境のディスプレイ特性の面は以下のカテゴリに構造化され、小カテゴリは次の通りである。
・空間解像度（２Ｋ×２Ｋ、１Ｋ×１Ｋ）、ＸＧＡ、ＳＶＧＡ、ＶＧＡ、など
・モノクロ又はカラー
・変調伝達関数
・振幅解像度（グレイスケール及び／又はカラーのレベル数）
ブラウザ性能：
コンピュータ環境のブラウザ性能の面には以下のカテゴリが含まれる。
・Ｊａｖａ（登録商標）が許可されているか否か
・ＡｃｔｉｖｅＸがサポートされているか否か
・ＨＴＭＬ及びＨＴＴＰのどのバージョンがサポートされているか
・サポートされているプラグインは何か
場所特性：
ユーザの物理的環境を示す場所特性は以下のカテゴリに構造化され、小カテゴリは次の通りである。
・場所の機能（実験室、フィルム読取場所、図書館、公共の場所、個人的な事務所、家庭、など）
・照明条件（暗い場所、明るい場所、など）
・オーディオ特性（騒がしい場所、静かな場所、など）
上記説明では、４種類のカテゴリ、即ち、（Ａ）アクセス特権、（Ｂ）ユーザの好み、（Ｃ）利用状況記録、及び、（Ｄ）環境プロファイルに基づいている。アクセス特権は、連邦及び州の患者の秘密に関する法律に依存する。各病院は、患者の秘密、データ完全性及び機密性（ディジタル署名、認証、及び、文書改変防止技術）を保証する病院独自のプロトコルを有する。病院のシステム管理者は、情報へのアクセスの方針及び規則を維持する責任を担う。従って、各ユーザは、患者毎に自分がアクセスし得る情報を表明するプロファイルを有する。ユーザの好みはユーザによって入力される。ユーザは、ハイパーテキストマークアップ言語（ＨＴＭＬ）フォーム又はＪａｖａ（登録商標）アプレット(applets)を用いて好みを入力することができる。ユーザ毎の利用状況記録はサーバによって自動的に追跡される。環境プロファイル情報は、クライアントのＩＰアドレス、クライアント・サーバ・ブラウザ通信、スマートカード、及び、アクティブバッジから獲得される。上記の個人化情報を獲得する方法について以下に詳述する。
フォームの使用に関して、最初にユーザがウェブサーバにアクセスするとき、ユーザ自身に関する情報を入力するように要求される。ユーザ自身に関する情報を更新する必要がない限り、この入力は１回だけ行えばよい。このフォームは、典型的に、ユーザの部門／科、職能、専門、興味及び教育レベルに関する情報を要求する。クライアントは二つ以上のブラウザを持つことができるので、ユーザは自分のデフォルトブラウザを選択する必要がある。デフォルトブラウザは、次に、ユーザがログインしたとき、自動的に起動される。
サーバから情報を要求するクライアントのＩＰアドレスは、ＩＰアドレスがイントラネット内で動的ではなく静的に割り当てられている場合、クライアントをユニークに識別する。このような状況において、クライアントのＩＰアドレスは、要求が到来したとき、ウェブサーバによって自動的に検出される。サーバ側のデータベース又はファイルシステム２６に格納されたユーザ環境情報は、コンピュータ及び場所の情報を含む。従って、ＩＰアドレスは、コンピュータのタイプ（例えば、ＳＵＮ、ＰＣ、ＭＡＣ、など）、コンピュータのアドオン能力（例えば、サウンドカード、ビデオデコーディングハードウェア、など）、コンピュータのウェブサーバへの最小帯域幅のコネクションリンク（例えば、ＡＴＭ、イーサネット（登録商標）、ＩＳＤＮ、ワイヤレス、など）、コンピュータが取り付けられたディスプレイの解像度（例えば、２Ｋ×２Ｋ、１Ｋ×１Ｋ、ＸＧＡ、ＳＶＧＡ、ＶＧＡ、など）、（移動可能ではない場合）コンピュータの設置場所、並びに、設置場所によって課される拘束条件を識別するため使用され得る。病院のコンピューティング設備のシステム管理者は、必要に応じてかかるシステム資源情報を更新する。
ウェブサーバは、クライアントウェブブラウザと通信し、ブラウザ能力（Ｊａｖａ（登録商標）、ＡｃｔｉｖｅＸのサポート、ＨＴＭＬ及びＨＴＴＰのバージョン、プラグイン、など）を検出することができる。ウェブサーバは適切なコンテンツを配布する。
携帯型のスマートカード（個人情報を収納し得るコンピュータチップが埋め込まれたクレジットカードサイズのプラスチックカード）は、イントラネットにアクセスする際に、クライアント機器１４側でコンピュータベースの読取器によって読み取ることができる。スマートカードから読み取られた情報は、身分を証明するために用いられるだけではなく、ウェブコンテンツを個人化するため必要な他のユーザ属性を与えるために使用される。
アクティブバッジ（オリベッティ社製品）は、病院内でバッジホルダの位置を見つけるため使用される。アクティブバッジは、赤外線源を介して一定間隔でその識別コードを送出する。このコードは、ウェブブラウザジングが行われ得る病院内の至る場所に分散されたセンサによって検出、記憶することが可能である。ウェブクライアントの物理的な位置が判定された後、適切なコンテンツがそのウェブクライアントに提示され得る。これは、特に、電話又は無線コネクションを介して接続されたラップトップのような携帯型クライアント機器の場合に有効である。但し、殆どのコンピュータは、移動させられないので、コンピュータのＩＰアドレスはコンピュータの位置を判定するため使用することができる。
上記の通り個人化情報が収集され、サーバ１２によって保持されたデータベース又はファイルシステム２４、２６及び２８に格納される。クライアントブラウザ１４は、自分の能力をウェブサーバに送信することができるので、その情報を記憶する必要がない。
ユーザ及びユーザの環境に関する情報が分かると、サーバスクリプト２２は、クライアントに対する適切なコンテンツを動的に発生させるためモジュール２０内で使用できるようになる。サーバスクリプトは、ＶＢＳｃｒｉｐｔ、ＪＳｃｒｉｐｔｓ、Ｊａｖａ（登録商標） Ｓｃｒｉｐｔ、Ｊａｖａ（登録商標）などで記述することが可能である。
以下に、コンテンツを個人化する際に課される制約条件の例を列挙する。
・心臓病のような医師ユーザの専門性は、その医師が関心のあると推定されるニュース及び情報だけを受け取るように、考慮されるべきである。
・ユーザは、アクセスが許可された情報しか閲覧できない。
・レポート室又は図書室のような静かな部屋であることが意図された部屋では、オーディオファイルを開いてはならない。
・サウンドカードを持たないコンピュータはサウンドファイルを受信しない。
・低速モデム及び小形スクリーンを備えたラップトップ型で、大きいムービーファイル若しくは大きい画像を開いてはならない。
・ＡｃｔｉｖｅＸをサポートしていないブラウザで、ＡｃｔｉｖｅＸコンポーネントを開いてはならない。
個人化されたコンテンツは、ユーザにとって、興味深く、かつ、関連があるだけではなく、ネットワーク帯域幅及びシステム資源を効率的に利用し、サーバの負荷を軽減する。また、個人化されたコンテンツは、文書復元の潜伏期を短縮する。
アクセス特権に関して、病院環境において、異なるユーザは、自分の専門性及び患者との関係（即ち、患者のかかりつけの医師、コンサルティング医師、付き添いの看護婦、など）に基づいて情報に対し異なるアクセス特権を有することは明らかである。例えば、異なる職業／専門が要求条件に合った異なるＣＰＲの“閲覧”を必要とするだけではなく、異なる患者との関係は、問題の領域に提示される細部のレベルに影響を与える。例えば、患者を処置する全ての医師は、患者が精神科の治療を受けていることが分かるが、この問題領域の細部は主治医と患者だけに特権が与えられる。また、ある種の“非常に重要な”患者（政治家、俳優、など）に対する記録のアクセスは、敵意のある公表や恐喝が増加する可能性があるので通常の患者よりも制限される場合がある。患者は自分自身のＣＰＲについては全ての細部まで見ることができるべきである。これは、未成年又は法的に無能力な患者の法律上の後見人についても同様に当てはまる。
全てのユーザは、最小限の特権を備え、位置に基づくデフォルトログインを有する。従って、病院内のあらゆる健康ケア提供者は、（例えば、スマートカードＩＤを用いて自分が健康ケア提供者であることを証明する以外に）特別のログインが無くても入院患者に関するＣＰＲ概要を見ることができる。しかし、この能力は、イントラネットの完全性を保護するファイアウォール(firewall)の外側から利用することができない。
イントラネットシステム内のセキュリティは、ディジタル署名、認証、及び、文書改変防止技術を使用する公知のプロトコルによって与えられる。
ユーザ特権及び関心に加えて、ＣＰＲはユーザの機器及びリンク帯域幅に合わされる。殆どのユーザ（特に、医師）は、数通りのタイプの機器／リンクを、例えば、オフィス、病院及び家庭に備えている。また、特定の個人に割り当てられていない端末は、入院患者を訪問する委託医師のために設けられる。従って、各ユーザは、幾つかのプロファイルを有する。任意の時点でユーザに割り付けられるプロファイルは、クライアント場所（ＩＰアドレス）及び性能（その中の一部はログインの際のＣＧＩ環境として得られる）によって判定される。好ましくは、サーバ１２は、画像サイズ（フル解像度又は削減された解像度）、並びに、リンク帯域幅及びクライアント機器１４に対する伝送圧縮（無し、無損失、損失のある／品質）を個人化し、その結果として、ユーザは低速コネクションの場所で大量の転送を待つ必要がなくなる。これは、ビデオファイル及びサウンドファイルに適用される。
低帯域幅のコネクション及び／又は低解像度ディスプレイを備えたコンピュータは、低解像度画像及び更に低いフレームレートビデオを要求する。異種のネットワークを想定する場合、サーバとクライアントの間の最小ネットワーク帯域幅のリンクは、制限因子である。スケーリング及びレイヤ状ビデオ符号化スキームは、異種のネットワーク、コンピュータ、及び、ディスプレイを介して一つの単一圧縮ビデオストリームをマルチキャストするため使用され得る一つの方法である。ルータは、適切な数の圧縮ビデオレイヤをソフトウェア又はハードウェア復号化用の適切なマシーンに送信することができる。例えば、高解像度ディスプレイ及びサーバへの高帯域幅のコネクションを備えたハイエンドワークステーションは、ベースレイヤと、全てのエンハンスメントレイヤを受信する。適度な解像度及びサーバへの適度な帯域幅コネクションを備えた中程度のコンピュータは、ベースレイヤと、一部のエンハンスメントレイヤを受信する。低解像度ディスプレイ及びワイヤレスコネクションを備えたローエンドワークステーションは、ベースレイヤだけを受信する。
動的に生成されたサーバページは異なる情報カテゴリを受け入れるため分割してもよい。ページの殆どの部分は、個人化された情報のため確保される。個人化された情報は、ユーザによって与えられた好みを使用し、かつ、ユーザを追跡することにより発生される。例えば、ユーザが特定の時間及び日付に最も頻繁に訪れたウェブサイト及びコンテンツは、同様の時間及び日付にそのユーザに提示することが可能である。ページの一部は、誰でも見ることができる一般的な情報のため確保することができる。ページの別の部分は広告のため確保してもよい。
病院管理者は、広告を通じて余分な収益を発生させるかどうかを決めることができる。例えば、病院は、病院イントラネット上に広告を出す営利企業に課金することを選択してもよい。個人化されたウェブサイトを用いることにより、広告は適切な視聴者に向けることが可能である。例えば、薬品会社はその製品に正当な専門家だけを目標にすることができる。患者は、売薬の広告、並びに、一般的なダイエット及び健康関連の広告を見ることができる。来訪者は、類似した患者向けの広告、並びに、より一般的な消費者向け広告を見ることができる。
図２には、カスタムウェブページを作成するため個人化情報が使用される方法が示されている。ユーザの第１段階は、ブロック３２において、自分の名前及びパスワードをウェブブラウザを用いて入力することであり、名前及びパスワードはルール生成ブロック３４に与えられる。ルール生成ブロック３４は、ＣＰＲから適切な情報を獲得し、個人化された提示のためその情報を処理するルールを生成する。しかし、ブロック３４において、ユーザが無許可であることが判定されたとき、ブロック３６において、サーバスクリプトはエラーメッセージウェブページを生成し、このページはブロック３８でクライアントに送信される。コンピュータに関する情報は、ブロック３４においてＩＰアドレスから自動的に獲得される。ユーザは、ブロック３２において、自分が関心を持つ患者のＩＤを与える必要がある。その理由は、ユーザ特権及びアクセス制御ルールは患者に依存するからである。
ルール生成ブロック３４において、最高優先度のルールは、第１段階４０で生成されたユーザ特権及びアクセス制御ルールである。かくして、ユーザが特定の患者に関するある種の情報カテゴリを検分する権利を付与されていない場合、たとえ、ユーザが自分の好みでその情報カテゴリを示しても、この種の情報にはアクセスできない。ユーザ特権及びアクセス制御ルールは、ユーザがどの情報にアクセスを許可されているかを表明する。次に、ユーザ関心ルールが第２段階４２で追加されるので、ユーザは自分の関心の無い情報に接することが無くなる。利用状況記録は、頻繁に訪れられたサイト及び情報が除外されないことを保証するため使用される。
第３段階４３で生成される最後のルールのセットは、コンピュータ、ネットワークコネクション、ディスプレイ、ブラウザの性能及び場所の特性のようなユーザの環境を考慮する。かくして、ユーザのディスプレイが高解像度画像を取り扱えない場合、ユーザが高解像度画像を要求しているとしても、低解像度画像がユーザに提示されるべきである。ある種の状況ではトレードオフが存在し得る。例えば、ユーザのネットワークコネクションが遅く、ディスプレイの解像度が高い場合、ユーザは、長時間待つことを拒まないならば、高解像度画像及びビデオデータを見ることができる。ユーザは、他の人に影響を及ぼさないならば、そのような判断を行う選択肢が与えられるべきである。
ルール生成の上記３段階４０、４２及び４４の結果は、ＣＰＲ情報を獲得するルールと、ウェブページを生成するルールである。ブロック４６において、上記ルールを用いて、サーバスクリプトは適切なＣＰＲ情報を獲得する。また、スクリプトは、情報がユーザ毎に個人化されるように、このポイントで情報を処理する。
例えば、高解像度画像／ビデオがより低解像度でサンプリングしてもよく、或いは、数値情報がグラフィック表示される場合がある。ブロック４８において、サーバスクリプトは、クライアントに対しウェブページを動的に生成する。生成されたウェブページは、ブロック３８で、クライアントのブラウザに送信される。
上記の通り、本発明の目的は達成される点に注意する必要がある。また、具体的な詳細に関して本発明の説明を行っているが、本発明の意図された精神及び範囲を逸脱することなく種々の変形を行い得ることが認められるべきである。

Claims (6)

  1. 病院又は他のケア施与機関のための情報システムであって、
    様々な異なるタイプのウェブブラウザによりアクセスされる前記病院又は他のケア施与機関のイントラネットと、
    前記イントラネットを介しウェブブラウザによりアクセス可能な少なくとも１つのウェブサーバと、
    を有し、
    前記ウェブサーバは、
    複数のユーザのそれぞれが何れの患者記録にアクセス可能であるかに関するアクセス特権を格納するアクセス特権・セキュリティデータベースと、
    各ユーザにより以前に入力されたユーザの嗜好、属性及びプロファイルを格納するユーザニーズ・嗜好・利用プロファイルデータベースと、
    ウェブブラウザからリクエストを受信し、ユーザのアクセス特権・セキュリティデータベースを確認し、前記ユーザがアクセス特権を有するリクエストされた患者記録を抽出するため、患者記録データベースにおけるコンピュータベース患者記録にアクセスするスクリプトサーバと、
    前記ユーザニーズ・嗜好・利用プロファイルデータベースからの前記ユーザの嗜好、プロファイル及び属性と、ウェブブラウザ能力、特性及び最小帯域幅接続リンクを含むネットワーク接続を格納する環境プロファイルデータベースに格納されているウェブブラウザ能力、特性及びネットワーク接続情報とに従ってフォーマット化された前記抽出された記録を表示するウェブページを動的に生成する動的ウェブページモジュールと、
    を有する情報システム。
  2. 前記ユーザニーズ・嗜好・利用プロファイルデータベースはさらに、前記ユーザと前記機関との関係に関する情報を格納し、
    前記動的ウェブページモジュールは、前記関係に従って前記ウェブページを生成する、請求項１記載の情報システム。
  3. 前記環境プロファイルデータベースは、前記機関の物理的位置の特性を格納し、
    前記ウェブブラウザのリクエストは、前記ウェブブラウザの物理的位置を示し、
    前記動的ウェブページモジュールは、前記ウェブブラウザがある物理的位置の特性に従って前記ウェブページを生成する、請求項１記載の情報システム。
  4. ユーザリクエストに応答して、病院又は他のケア施与機関のイントラネットを介しウェブサーバからユーザのウェブブラウザにコンテンツを提供する方法であって、
    複数のユーザのそれぞれが何れの患者記録にアクセス可能であるかに関する情報をデータベースに維持するステップと、
    前記複数のユーザにより入力されたユーザの嗜好、属性及びプロファイルをデータベースに維持するステップと、
    ウェブブラウザからリクエストを受信し、前記リクエストをしたユーザの格納されているアクセス特権を確認し、前記ユーザがアクセス特権を有するリクエストされた患者記録を抽出するため、患者記録データベースにおけるコンピュータベース患者記録にアクセスするステップと、
    前記リクエストをしたユーザの格納されている嗜好、属性及びプロファイルと、前記リクエストしたウェブブラウザから受信されるか、又はウェブブラウザ能力、特性及びネットワーク接続情報を格納するデータベースから抽出されるウェブブラウザ能力、特性及びネットワーク接続情報に従ってフォーマット化された前記抽出された記録を表示するウェブページを動的に生成するステップと、
    前記動的に生成されたウェブページをイントラネットを介し前記リクエストしたウェブブラウザに送信するステップと、
    を有する方法。
  5. 前記ユーザと前記機関との関係に関する格納された情報をデータベースに維持するステップと、
    前記リクエストしたユーザと前記機関との関係に従って前記ウェブページをフォーマット化するステップと、
    をさらに有する、請求項４記載の方法。
  6. 前記機関における物理的位置の格納された特性をデータベースに維持するステップと、
    前記ウェブブラウザからのリクエストにおいて、前記機関における前記ウェブブラウザの物理的位置を示すステップと、
    前記ウェブブラウザがある前記物理的位置の特性に従って前記生成されたウェブページをフォーマット化するステップと、
    をさらに有する、請求項４記載の方法。
