Abstract

Description
本出願は、Jason L.Craigによって2007年12月5日に出願された「熱貫通およびアークの長さの制御可能な電気外科用ペンシル」と題する米国仮出願番号第60/992,413号への優先権の利益を主張しており、この仮出願は、本明細書中に参考として援用される。
本開示は、一般に電気外科用器具に、そしてより特定すれば、複数の手でアクセス可能な可変制御を有する電気外科用ペンシルに関する。
電気外科用器具は、近年、外科医によって広く用いられるようになった。従って、手術環境において、取り扱いが容易であり、信頼性があり、そして安全である装備および器具に対する必要性が生じた。概していえば、大部分の電気外科用器具は、ハンドヘルド器具、例えば、組織部位に高周波(RF)の電気または電気外科用エネルギーを転送する電気外科用ペンシルである。この電気外科用エネルギーは、患者の下に位置決めされた戻り電極パッドを経由して電気外科用供給源(すなわち、単極システム構成)、または身体内で手術部位と接触するか、またはすぐ隣接して位置決め可能な、より小さな戻り電極(すなわち、双極システム構成)に戻される。RF供給源によって生成される波形は、一般に、電気外科的切断および高周波療法として知られる所定の電気外科的効果を生じる。
(項目1)電気外科用ペンシルであって:
細長いハウジング;

このハウジング上に支持された少なくとも1つの分圧器ネットワークであって、この電気焼灼電極に送達される電気外科用エネルギーの周波数、強度、およびモードの少なくとも1つを制御するために、この電気外科用エネルギーの供給源に電気的に接続される少なくとも1つの分圧器ネットワーク、を備える、電気外科用ペンシル。
(項目2)上記ハウジング上に支持された複数の起動スイッチをさらに含み、各々の起動スイッチが、上記電気外科用エネルギーの供給源によって生成される特定モードの電気外科用エネルギーを起動するような形態である、項目1に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
(項目3)上記分圧器ネットワークが、上記ハウジング上に作動可能に支持される少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターを含む、項目2に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
(項目4)上記少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが、上記電気焼灼電極に送達される電気外科用エネルギーの強度および周波数の少なくとも1つを制御するよう作動可能である、項目3に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
(項目5)上記少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが、その表面から延びる少なくとも1つのナブを備え、この少なくとも1つのナブが、上記少なくとも1つの分圧器ネットワークに接触し、そしてこの少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが上記ハウジングに対して移動されるとき、この少なくとも1つの分圧器ネットワークに影響するような形態である、項目4に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
(項目6)上記少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが、最小の約470kHz〜最大の約1MHzまで、電気外科用エネルギーの周波数を変動するような形態であり、かつ適合されている、項目3に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
(項目7)上記複数の起動スイッチが、上記ハウジング内に配置された第1の抵抗器ネットワークを規定し、そして上記少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが、このハウジング内に配置された第2の抵抗器ネットワークおよび第3の抵抗器ネットワークの少なくとも1つを規定する、項目3に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
(項目8)上記少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが、特定の起動スイッチに対応する波形衝撃係数の周波数を調節するような形態であり、かつ適合されている、項目6に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
(項目9)上記少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが、複数の別個の周波数のセッティングを提供するような形態であり、かつ適合されている、項目8に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
(項目10)上記少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが、この少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが第1の位置に配置されるとき最小にセットされ、そしてこの少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが第2の位置に配置されるとき最大にセットされる、項目3に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
(項目11)上記少なくとも1つの分圧器ネットワークが、上記ハウジング上に回転可能に支持される、項目1に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
(項目12)上記少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが一対のナブを含み、この一対のナブの1つが各々、上記複数の起動スイッチのいずれかの側に、この少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが上記電気外科用ペンシルのいずれかの側から作動可能であるようにスライド可能に支持された、項目3に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
(項目13)上記少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが、最小周波数に対応する第1の位置、最大周波数に対応する第2の位置、およびこの最小周波数とこの最大周波数との間の周波数に対応する、この第1の位置とこの第2の位置との間の複数の位置を有する、項目8に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
(項目14)上記少なくとも1つの分圧器ネットワークが、アナログ周波数セッティングを提供するような形態であり、かつ適合される、項目1に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
(項目15)電気外科用ペンシルであって:
細長いハウジング;
このハウジング内に支持され、そしてこのハウジングから遠位方向に延びる電気焼灼電極であって、電気外科用エネルギーの供給源に接続するように操作可能である電気焼灼電極;
このハウジング上に支持された少なくとも1つの分圧器ネットワークであって、この電気焼灼電極に送達される電気外科用エネルギーの周波数および強度の少なくとも1つを制御するために、この電気外科用エネルギーの供給源に電気的に接続するように操作可能である少なくとも1つの分圧器ネットワーク;および
このハウジング上にスライド可能に支持された周波数コントローラーを備え、ここでこの周波数コントローラーが、この少なくとも1つの分圧器ネットワークを選択的に起動するような形態であり、そしてこの周波数コントローラーがこのハウジングに対して移動されるとき、この電気外科用ペンシルの使用者に触覚フィードバックを提供する、電気外科用ペンシル。

(項目19)上記周波数コントローラーが、上記電気外科用エネルギーの供給源に特徴信号を送達し、この電気外科用エネルギーの供給源が、次に、対応する波形周波数を上記電気焼灼電極に伝達する、項目15に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
(項目20)上記少なくとも1つの分圧器ネットワークが、最小周波数に対応する第1の位置、最大周波数に対応する第2の位置、およびこの最小周波数とこの最大周波数との間の周波数に対応する、この第1の位置とこの第2の位置との間の複数の位置を有する、項目15に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
(項目21)電気外科用ペンシルであって:
細長いハウジング;
このハウジング内に支持され、そしてこのハウジングから遠位方向に延びる電気焼灼電極であって、電気外科用エネルギーの供給源に接続するよう適合された電気焼灼電極;
このハウジング上に支持された少なくとも1つの分圧器ネットワークであって、この電気焼灼電極に送達される電気外科用エネルギーの周波数、強度、およびモードの少なくとも1つを制御するために、この電気外科用エネルギーの供給源に電気的に接続される少なくとも1つの分圧器ネットワーク;および
このハウジング上に支持される複数の起動スイッチであって、各々の起動スイッチは、この電気外科用エネルギーの供給源によって生成される電気外科用エネルギーの特定モードを起動するような形態である複数の起動スイッチを備える、電気外科用ペンシル。
電気外科用ペンシルが提供され、この電気外科用ペンシルは、細長いハウジング、このハウジング内に支持され、そしてこのハウジングから遠位方向に延びる電気焼灼電極を含む。この電気焼灼電極は、電気外科用エネルギーの供給源に接続される。このペンシルはまた、上記ハウジング上に支持され、そして上記電気焼灼電極に送達される電気外科用エネルギーの強度、周波数、および/またはモードを制御するために、電気外科用エネルギーの供給源に電気的に接続される少なくとも1つの分圧器ネットワークを含む。
Claims (20)
- 電気外科用ペンシルであって:
細長いハウジング;
該ハウジング内に支持され、そして該ハウジングから遠位方向に延びる電気焼灼電極であって、電気外科用エネルギーの供給源に接続するよう適合された電気焼灼電極;および
該ハウジング上に支持された少なくとも1つの分圧器ネットワークであって、該電気焼灼電極に送達される電気外科用エネルギーの周波数、強度、およびモードの少なくとも1つを制御するために、該電気外科用エネルギーの供給源に電気的に接続される少なくとも1つの分圧器ネットワーク、を備える、電気外科用ペンシル。 - 前記ハウジング上に支持された複数の起動スイッチをさらに含み、各々の起動スイッチが、前記電気外科用エネルギーの供給源によって生成される特定モードの電気外科用エネルギーを起動するような形態である、請求項1に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
- 前記分圧器ネットワークが、前記ハウジング上に作動可能に支持される少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターを含む、請求項2に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
- 前記少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが、前記電気焼灼電極に送達される電気外科用エネルギーの強度および周波数の少なくとも1つを制御するよう作動可能である、請求項3に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
- 前記少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが、その表面から延びる少なくとも1つのナブを備え、該少なくとも1つのナブが、前記少なくとも1つの分圧器ネットワークに接触し、そして該少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが前記ハウジングに対して移動されるとき、該少なくとも1つの分圧器ネットワークに影響するような形態である、請求項4に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
- 前記少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが、最小の約470kHz〜最大の約1MHzまで、電気外科用エネルギーの周波数を変動するような形態であり、かつ適合されている、請求項3に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
- 前記複数の起動スイッチが、前記ハウジング内に配置された第1の抵抗器ネットワークを規定し、そして前記少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが、該ハウジング内に配置された第2の抵抗器ネットワークおよび第3の抵抗器ネットワークの少なくとも1つを規定する、請求項3に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
- 前記少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが、特定の起動スイッチに対応する波形衝撃係数の周波数を調節するような形態であり、かつ適合されている、請求項6に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
- 前記少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが、複数の別個の周波数のセッティングを提供するような形態であり、かつ適合されている、請求項8に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
- 前記少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが、該少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが第1の位置に配置されるとき最小にセットされ、そして該少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが第2の位置に配置されるとき最大にセットされる、請求項3に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
- 前記少なくとも1つの分圧器ネットワークが、前記ハウジング上に回転可能に支持される、請求項1に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
- 前記少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが一対のナブを含み、該一対のナブの1つが各々、前記複数の起動スイッチのいずれかの側に、該少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが前記電気外科用ペンシルのいずれかの側から作動可能であるようにスライド可能に支持された、請求項3に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
- 前記少なくとも1つのスライドポテンチオメーターが、最小周波数に対応する第1の位置、最大周波数に対応する第2の位置、および該最小周波数と該最大周波数との間の周波数に対応する、該第1の位置と該第2の位置との間の複数の位置を有する、請求項8に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
- 前記少なくとも1つの分圧器ネットワークが、アナログ周波数セッティングを提供するような形態であり、かつ適合される、請求項1に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
- 電気外科用ペンシルであって:
細長いハウジング;

該ハウジング上に支持された少なくとも1つの分圧器ネットワークであって、該電気焼灼電極に送達される電気外科用エネルギーの周波数および強度の少なくとも1つを制御するために、該電気外科用エネルギーの供給源に電気的に接続するように操作可能である少なくとも1つの分圧器ネットワーク;および
該ハウジング上にスライド可能に支持された周波数コントローラーを備え、ここで該周波数コントローラーが、該少なくとも1つの分圧器ネットワークを選択的に起動するような形態であり、そして該周波数コントローラーが該ハウジングに対して移動されるとき、該電気外科用ペンシルの使用者に触覚フィードバックを提供する、電気外科用ペンシル。 - 前記ハウジング上に支持された複数の起動スイッチをさらに備え、各々の起動スイッチが、前記電気外科用エネルギーの供給源から延びる制御ループを、該電気外科用エネルギーの供給源の起動に際し、選択的に完成するような形態であり、そして各々の起動スイッチが、前記少なくとも1つの分圧器ネットワークと選択的に係合するための形態である、請求項15に記載の電気外科用ペンシル。
