Abstract
【解決手段】液晶表示パネル11Rは、光源側から順に、マイクロレンズアレイを有するMLA基板31、透明な共通電極41が形成された対向基板32、液晶層33及び、各画素に対応した透明な画素電極43が形成されたTFT基板34を備えている。マイクロレンズアレイは、対応する画素電極43に入射光を集光する。対向基板32の光源側の面には、位相差補償層39が形成されている。マイクロレンズアレイにおいて入射光が回折現象を起こして拡散しても、位相差補償層39と液晶層33を通過する光の角度は等しいので、光漏れが発生しない。

Claims (12)
- 微細な素子が可視光を回折させ得るピッチで周期的に配列した構造体と、一対の基板の間に封入された液晶層とを有する液晶表示装置において、
前記構造体と前記液晶層の間に配置され、前記液晶層によって生じる光の位相差を補償する位相差補償層が設けられていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記位相差補償層は、前記一対の基板の一方に設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記位相差補償層は、前記一対の基板の両方に設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記構造体は、前記基板と一体に設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記構造体は、マトリクス状に配列された複数のマイクロレンズを有することを特徴とする請求項4記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記構造体は、TFT回路パターンを有することを特徴とする請求項4記載の液晶表示装置。
- 微細な素子が可視光を回折させ得るピッチで周期的に配列した構造体と、一対の基板の間に封入された液晶層とを有する液晶表示装置を備えた液晶プロジェクタにおいて、
前記構造体と前記液晶層との間の配置され、前記液晶層によって生じる光の位相差を補償する位相差補償層が設けられていることを特徴とする液晶プロジェクタ。 - 前記位相差補償層は、前記一対の基板の一方に設けられていることを特徴とする請求項7記載の液晶プロジェクタ。
- 前記位相差補償層は、前記一対の基板の両方に設けられていることを特徴とする請求項7記載の液晶プロジェクタ。
- 前記構造体は、前記基板と一体に設けられていることを特徴とする請求項7記載の液晶プロジェクタ。
- 前記構造体は、マトリクス状に配列された複数のマイクロレンズを有することを特徴とする請求項10記載の液晶プロジェクタ。
- 前記構造体は、TFT回路パターンを有することを特徴とする請求項10記載の液晶プロジェクタ。
