Abstract
Description
無線LAN(WLAN)メッシュ・ネットワークは、IEEE802.11リンクを介して相互接続された2つ以上のノードで構成されている。各ノードは、自動トポロジ学習と経路選択とに使用されるルーティング・プロトコルに従う。本発明は、IEEE802.11MACアドレスに基づいて経路を発見する機構を提供する。本発明は、オンデマンド型経路発見とプロアクティブ型経路設定とを同時にサポートする。本発明が提供する機構は、経路を発見して設定し、リアルタイムのマルチメディア・アプリケーションについてのサービス品質(QoS)要件を満足し、当該経路を維持・管理できる。更に、当該機構は、非転送ノードもサポートする。
Claims (27)
- 無線メッシュ・ネットワークにおいて送信元ノードと送信先ノードとの間のノードが経路を選択する方法であって、
メディア・アクセス制御アドレスを使用して、前記送信元ノードと前記送信先ノードとの間で前記経路を設定するステップを含む、前記方法。 - 前記送信元ノードと前記送信先ノードとの間の前記経路がオンデマンド型ルーティングに基づいて設定される、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記送信元ノードと前記送信先ノードとの間の前記経路がプロアクティブ型ルーティングに基づいて設定される、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記無線メッシュ・ネットワークにおいて現在使用されている各経路を維持、管理するステップを更に含む請求項1記載の方法。
- 広告された経路情報を使用して、前記送信元ノードと前記送信先ノードとの間の全ての経路についての情報を維持、管理するステップを更に含む請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記無線メッシュ・ネットワークが動的であり、任意のノードが、いつでも、前記無線メッシュ・ネットワークに動的に参加でき、或いは、これから動的に脱退することができる、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記オンデマンド型ルーティングに基づいて前記経路を設定する処理は、
前記無線メッシュ・ネットワークにおいて、前記送信元ノードと前記送信先ノードとの間の少なくとも1つの経路を特定するステップと、
前記送信元ノードと前記送信先ノードとの間の複数の経路が識別される場合、シーケンス番号とメトリックとに基づいて、前記送信元ノードと前記送信先ノードとの間の1つの経路を選択するステップと、
をさらに含む、請求項2記載の方法。 - 前記プロアクティブ型ルーティングに基づいて前記経路を設定する処理は、前記無線メッシュ・ネットワークにおいて、設定されたノードが自己に到達する経路を広告するステップを含む、請求項3記載の方法。
- 前記無線メッシュ・ネットワークにおいて、各ノードが、ローカルの接続性を維持、管理するために、ビーコン・メッセージを隣接ノードに周期的に送信するステップを更に含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- アクセスポイントが前記無線メッシュ・ネットワークに参加することを許すステップを更に含み、少なくとも1つの局が前記アクセスポイントに割当てられており、前記アクセスポイントに割当てられた前記少なくとも1つの局が前記無線メッシュ・ネットワークの構成要素ではなく、前記アクセスポイントが自己に割当てられた前記少なくとも1つの局についてのプロキシとして機能し、前記アクセスポイントに割当てられた前記少なくとも1つの局のうちの任意の局と前記無線メッシュ・ネットワークの任意の構成要素ノードとの間のルーティングが前記少なくとも1つの局に対してトランスペアレントである、請求項1記載の方法。
- 非転送メッシュ・ノードをサポートするステップを更に含み、
前記非転送メッシュ・ノードが送信元ノードか送信先ノードのどちらか一方である、請求項1記載の方法。 - サービスの品質の要件に基づいて経路の設定と経路の維持、管理とを行うことによって、サービスの品質をサポートするステップを更に含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 無線メッシュ・ネットワークにおいて、ノードが、マルチキャスト・グループに参加する経路を選択する方法であって、
メディア・アクセス制御アドレスを使用して、前記ノードと前記マルチキャスト・グループとの間の前記経路を設定するステップを含む、前記方法。 - 前記ノードと前記マルチキャスト・グループとの間の前記経路がオンデマンド型ルーティングに基づいて設定される、請求項13記載の方法。
- 前記ノードと前記マルチキャスト・グループとの間の前記経路がプロアクティブ型ルーティングに基づいて設定される、請求項13記載の方法。
- 前記無線メッシュ・ネットワークにおいて現在使用されている各経路を維持、管理するステップを更に含む、請求項13記載の方法。
- 広告された経路情報を使用して、前記マルチキャスト・グループについての全ての経路についての情報を維持、管理するステップを更に含む請求項13記載の方法。
- 前記無線メッシュ・ネットワークの前記マルチキャスト・グループが動的であり、任意のノードが、いつでも、前記無線メッシュ・ネットワークの前記マルチキャスト・グループに動的に参加でき、或いは、これから動的に抜けることができる、請求項13記載の方法。
- 前記オンデマンド型ルーティングに基づいて前記経路を設定する処理は、
前記無線メッシュ・ネットワークにおいて、前記ノードと前記マルチキャスト・グループとの間の少なくとも1つの経路を特定するステップと、
前記ノードと前記マルチキャスト・グループとの間の複数の経路が識別される場合、シーケンス番号とメトリックとに基づいて、前記ノードと前記マルチキャスト・グループとの間の1つの経路を選択するステップと、
をさらに含む、請求項14記載の方法。 - 前記プロアクティブ型ルーティングに基づいて前記経路を設定する処理は、
前記無線メッシュ・ネットワークにおいて、前記マルチキャスト・グループの設定されたグループ・リーダ・ノードが自己に到達する経路を広告するステップを含む、請求項15記載の方法。 - 前記無線メッシュ・ネットワークにおいて、各ノードが、ローカルの接続性を維持、管理するために、ビーコン・メッセージを隣接ノードに周期的に送信するステップを更に含む、請求項13記載の方法。
- 非転送メッシュ・ノードをサポートするステップを更に含み、
前記非転送メッシュ・ノードが送信元ノードか送信先ノードのどちらか一方である、請求項13記載の方法。 - サービスの品質の要件に基づいて経路の設定と経路の維持、管理とを行うことによって、サービスの品質をサポートするステップを更に含む、請求項13記載の方法。
- 前記選択された経路をアクティブ化するステップを更に含む、請求項19記載の方法。
- 壊れた或いは切断されたマルチキャスト・ツリー・リンクを迂回するステップを更に含む、請求項11記載の方法。
- プロキシ機能付きアクセスポイントであって、
当該プロキシ機能付きアクセスポイントに割当てられた少なくとも1つの局を制御する局プロキシと、
前記局プロキシと通信を行う局割当て制御モジュールと、
前記局割当て制御モジュールと通信を行う局用送受信インタフェース・モジュールと、
前記局プロキシと通信を行うメッシュ・ルーティング・ユニットと、
前記メッシュ・ルーティング・ユニットと通信を行うメッシュ・ネットワーク用送受信インタフェース・モジュールと、
を含む、前記プロキシ機能付きアクセスポイント。 - 前記メッシュ・ルーティング・ユニットが、メッシュ発見ユニット、メッシュ経路アナウンスメント・ユニット、ルーティング・メッセージ処理ユニット、経路維持管理ユニット、データ処理ユニット、及び、ルーティング・テーブルを有する、請求項26記載のプロキシ機能付きアクセスポイント。
